Summary
A vampire named Kurt seeks the help of Dr. Liam Beyer, an expert on battlefield history, to identify the battle in his earliest memories. Kurt’s ridiculously attractive (and a bit terrifying), but Liam is definitely not going to fall in love with him. And Kurt certainly wouldn’t get attached to an ordinary man like Liam. Even Kurt’s intense protectiveness of Liam doesn’t mean anything. They’re just best friends. Who share an occasional passionate kiss. You know, like friends.
Professor Liam Beyer was born a decade after the deaths of the last soldiers to fight in the US Civil War. Thus, he was not expecting to meet a Union Army veteran in his 4 o’clock symposium on the Battle of Antietam.
Liam noticed the man as soon as he walked in, and not just because it was odd for a member of the public to show up for a faculty lecture at the university. No, the man caught Liam’s attention because he was distractingly handsome. Literally, Liam was distracted enough to drop his pen onto the overhead projector, causing a giant shadow to loom over the map of Maryland on the screen behind him, as if a third army had materialized there in a dense offensive line.

Summary
I have no idea what I'm doing here help. This is a gory, vile, and highly dubious tale of a vampire who serves under the command of the Red Army, and his hapless human captive from the opposing Blue Army. I'm posting it to AO3 because its remarkable tagging system is the only place I feel comfortable sharing this highly self-indulgent monstrosity.
The story is set in a world similar to our own during the Napoleonic wars, except everything is different and also there's supernatural entities such as the titular vampire, though they appear to be somewhat rare. Similarities with real nations from our world are scrambled and intentionally avoided but things are vaguely european in flavour.
Title may be changed at some point if I ever think of a real one and not just the title of the .rtf file......Bookmarked by Pinkyfrog
