Summary
Judy rushed to her room, closed the door, shrunk down to the floor, and tried to slow her breathing. None of this should have been happening. Several months of stress tests, endurance running, reaction checks… It should have been enough. She should have been fine. But here she was, head on her knees again, eyes pricking with tears.
Or: Judy gets caught red-handed. Literally.

Summary
“Michael!” Jillian exclaimed, as she ran towards her son’s crumpled form on her doorstep.
She eyed his bloodstained shirt and held back a sob. Her head throbbed. “I’m going to get you inside. I’m going to look after you.”
A hurt/comfort oneshot.

Summary
Hermione felt the pounding in her ears again. She would see him for the first time since the Great Hall, gaunt and stricken at the Slytherin table with his mother clutching his arm. She hadn't meant to look for him. Not in the corridors, not beneath the white sheets of the fallen, not on the way to the Chamber of Secrets with Ron, but she was a stupid girl.

Summary
“My mum died last year,” Sirius says at last, perhaps more bluntly than he intended – perhaps not given the defiant set of his chin. “And we don’t have a gravestone yet, till the ground settles or whatever, so I want something I can put there to represent her and how toxic she was.”
Remus blinks.
Whatever he had expected Sirius to say, it hadn’t been that. He had inferred that he and Regulus had a complicated relationship with their blood family, but this was a wholly unexpected turn. Unfortunately, instead of the empathic response he knows is in there somewhere, what comes out is: “Yes, that sounds like a perfectly healthy response to grief.”
