It was the cockiness, the Shakespearean tone, that prodded Mike to shrug. He had shut his eyes sometime after the first drag, his head swooned with a different kind of weightlessness.
Still, he could see the switchblade in that stranger's smile. “I'm ol’ Favor's son,” Scott said, smoke dancing through the cracks of his perfected teeth. Dentistry, another dead give away to his affluent past.
It was a stroke of fate for a boy like Scott, who was so devoted to shocking those around him, being humbled by a sleepy Mike Waters; he didn’t do anything so much as hum towards the name, careless. He hadn’t even opened his eyes.
“That’s cool, man.”
"Got a smoke?"
