Only now did he realize that Pinky was awfully close to him. A little too close, perhaps. Out of concern for Brain’s mental health, Pinky had waded across the cereal bowl until he was but an inch away from his visage. At least, he assumed that’s what he was here for. He couldn’t pretend it didn’t make him just slightly uncomfortable.
No, it certainly wasn’t just those eyes that grabbed his heart by the strings. It was so much more than that….

This is still my favorite Pinky and the Brain story ever created and will most likely remain so. The poignancy of it and the delicate tones throughout, coupled with a story that's altogether very simple, yet moving, touch my heart significantly, so much so that I created fan art for it some time back. Thank you for making this story. It's beautiful. <3
