Summary
“Anyone there?” Steve tries again. He’s hoping it’s a person and not– well, something out of his nightmares. This could still all be a concussion induced dream, he supposes. Steve hasn’t been hit this hard since Jonathan laid him out on the street. And even then, he was able to walk away with his wits, but not his pride.
“Harrington?” A voice, one that also sounds strained, speaks out. Steve knows that voice too, gets taunted by it every basketball practice since it waltzed into his life and shoved him to the ground, figuratively and literally.
“Hargrove?” He’s asks, still incredulous that they’d be put in the same room. Then again, this isn’t a hospital. It’s rather shaping up to be a nightmare.

Steve is left behind after he's knocked out while the kids go and burn the tunnels. When he wakes up, he's strapped to a bed with Billy Hargorve as his roommate, at the mercy of a Russian doctor with "great" plans for the both of them.

Summary
Steve held his breath, not even threatening to make a sound as he waited. He should have crouched behind the counters and hid from whatever was approaching. But his body wouldn’t let him. He was frozen, like an idiot, just waiting for whatever monster to come into sight before it rushed him and ripped him apart.
Except, it wasn’t some amalgamation of hell and science that he saw.
It was long blond hair and a weathered leather jacket. It was Billy Hargrove.

“It’s a stupid movie,” Billy mumbles. His hands rest on the wheel with head resting on top.
It’s a strange sentiment, considering they were barely five minutes in. What could have set Billy off about it? There was a girl and her family forgot her-
“Oh my god,” Steve gasps. “today’s your birthday.”

Summary
He already approved Billy taking a trip with his physician over the phone, they know Steve enough from all the times he’s accompanied Billy, and even thought it would be a good idea for him to get away from Hawkins for a bit to aid in his healing process. Steve couldn’t agree more.
All Billy has to do is say yes.
“No.”
