Xie Lian isn’t one for leaps of faith these days. After two life-changing injuries clinched her abrupt and tragic exit from her former life as a promising gymnast, she considers her own body more of a liability than much else. Not like her girlfriend, Hua Cheng, a bold and tough-as-nails roller derby skater who believes in Xie Lian more than enough for the both of them.

The Crimson Flower, the city’s most infamous and popular courtesan, had come to visit the Crown Prince of Xianle again– for what had to easily be the fifth time that month.
