Ooh he so would. And they would have made the Butcher a Blond White Guy so it fits! And then he gets to the death scene and has to go sit in his workshop for a bit.
Lilith destroys the Death Scene too. Both of them are paranoid about losing Alastor - Lucifer even more because HE was the one who agreed to the Exterminations.
Oof, the combination of "Has to go sit in his workshop for a bit" and "HE was the one who agreed to the Exterminations" just flashed me to Alastor vanishing during an Extermination (I presume captured by heaven but it would be hilarious if he were killed and redeemed like Sir Pentuous and was as desperate to escape back to Hell as Heaven was to keep him there where he couldn't cause trouble). And Lucifer vanishing to his workshop to spiral into self hatred and depression. (Meanwhile, Lilith can't accept that Alastor is gone because that means that her husband killed Alastor and she's not losing both of them. I'm thinking that she catches a hint of Alastor in Heaven and does everything in her power to GET there, ultimately resulting in her and Alastor swapping places in a deal with Adam.)
Which of course means a truly heart wrenching reunion with Alastor, Lucifer, and Charlie (with Vaggie and Angel watching in shock).
You see what happens? You give me an inch and I just race off with it.
Also, both Lilith and Lucifer trail Alastor whenever they finish a book where he dies at the end. It is... disconcerting.
I’m now also really thinking about Alastor going missing. And then during new negotiations with Hell, Heaven revealing they have him as part of their bargaining and just wondering the lengths Lucifer and Lilith would go to to get him back. You tell me. I have some ideas but I want to know where your mind goes with that one.
I mean...Lucifer starts thinking about what he's willing to give up to get back Alastor. Lilith proceeds to attack the angels. Like, them taking Alastor would be the final straw. And the moment she attacks - well, Lucifer can't let them attack his wife, can he? So he'd attack too. And Lucifer is...really strong. Like, it goes God (Roo, God's equal), Michael, and Lucifer in terms of power, and at this point Lucifer might be STRONGER then Michael. If they reveal that Alastor somehow was REDEEMED and became a WINNER - and they'd be shocked too - that would change things however. ESPECIALLY if this is before Charlie has started her hotel, and they didn't even know it was a thing that could happen.
