    I haven’t even read this yet and I am ALREADY vibing so hard oh my god THANK YOU — reading the tags and then the summary and brain was already going YES PLEASE too. literally nearly 10k of apprentice related 5+1 AND THE TITLE is pulled from the unlikely candidates????? Bestie I have seen them in concert twice and I am already loving everything about this fic thank YOU so much!!!!

    I have a thousand and one things going on today so time to read may be delayed but please know I am SO FREAKING HYPE AND READY AND appreciate you SO MUCH.

      Ok I lied I made time to read this now and not wait six million hours and I am even more adamant that you are WONDERFUL and AMAZING!!

      I somehow missed Raven in the tags the first quick read through when I commented before reading and it made me SO HAPPY because let me tell ya, circa 2005-2008 I was the worlds biggest fan of RaeRob friendship and rapport etc etc. There’s been so many iterations of teen titans and Raven in the last twenty years that it’s not always easy to find characterizations in these fusion worlds in fic that feels true to that era and I really really appreciate the way you wove her into this. That was such a hidden unexpected joy and my nostalgic heart is soaring.

      NOT TO MENTION the way you wove the story pacing and nonlinear timeline— it was done so beautifully and makes perfect sense!!!! Robin!Jason pov was such a treat. I feel like I usually see RedHood!Jason in these slow burn identity reveals related to renegade so seeing that was an EXTRA special treat in and of itself.

      Loved that Bruce was in this pseudo middle state of knowledge. Aware enough to not question or demand answers when met with evidence of something awry but also clearly not fully informed despite his own research etc.

      Loved LOVED the lil forehead kiss from Slade. Ugh. Such a perfect showing of their romantic/sexual undercurrent. Left some room for the imagination to take it whichever direction the reader likes best (ie more non/dubcon or more consensual, deciding when it started for the two aka the two times he donned renegade when he was 15 or 22).

      The plot of the story (identity reveal my one true love) stayed in the forefront but these little asides gave such beautiful context to the characterization and set up for the angst and drama of everything coming to a head and just—-

        Swinging back into this thread now that creators are revealed which ofc means I reread this fic yeeeet again—

        wowowow I had a slight inkling that you might be the gifter (thank you for reading my own oneshot that stepped foot into the apprentice arc world) (when one of your fave apprentice arc/reveal/etc trope writers kudos your fic it kind of stands out and I low key was like—huh. I wonder if this has something to do with the exchange) and it was such a fun surprise and unexpected reveal!!

        A million more kudos. Seriously. Thank you :)
