      I'm still going to write False Azure, but I'm going to go with a modified option #1, in which I largely continue with my original plans for the story and just blast the conflicts. I just have to write the verdict out in full and post it later today. I'll also leave the note up for future reference, so I've got to... polish the ranting bits somewhat.

      But... yes. While the Malenia, Miquella and Radahn of False Azure are completely different characters, the trio here will hew terribly close to canon.

      And here they shall face the wrath of Sir Gurranq, Archduke of the Erdtree, Knight Commander of the Order of St. Goldmask, Death of the Demigods, Bloody Hand of the Lord of Order, and co-owner of a certain teashop, with the full weight of the third Elden Lord's sideways thinking might behind him.
