   No one is paid for working on Ao3/OTW ! it’s all run by volunteers!

   other nonprofits do have some paid staff but ao3 is kinda already in a tough spot legally with fan fiction so any profit going to staff would be heavily scrutinized by the government

   It definitely sucks but makes all this work even more admirable. I believe even the lawyers who represent us are all fans themselves who volunteer to advocate for us
