<3 <3 <3 I'm sooo glad you liked this fic, I was very worried about finding the right balance of "things you requested" and "things I have inspiration for" 😅 I actually started writing something with Celebrimbor and Fingolfin post-canon, but it just wasn't going where I wanted it to...maybe I'll return to that some other time!
As much as I love ships where it's like "you're the only one for me," having these kinds of stories where people fall in and out of love, get rejected, and overall have very messy love lives is really fun too! Maglor in particular is great to multiship with, considering how long he lives and how much free real estate we have with his character arc post-WoW. And he's a dramatic bard, of course he's going to have dramatic relationships!!
Re: Elrond's boat: I wasn't quite sure where in the timeline to place that scene, because I wanted Maglor and Elrond to have some character development on their own before reuniting, but I also wanted Elrond to still be fairly young. I didn't consciously make that connection with Elros' death (though weirdly enough I /was/ thinking about the drowning of Numenor...lol) but AHH now that you mention it, YEP, that's very likely and very painful ;-;
I'm so glad you liked the background characters, it's always fun to play around with OCs! And of course I couldn't pass up an opportunity to make Erestor snarky and aroace :)
