            Isn't it awful?

            I could never write it - too traumatising for me as an author - but I head cannon this is exactly why the Run is a symbol of things changing for better in Madara's mind.

            Like when I wrote this line for him:

            "Since the founding of the village, they have even been able to Run properly - something that was previously only done whenever the feud was quiet. Having younglings running through the woods when child killers and eye thieves were abroad in the night was an unacceptable risk."

            I was thinking about all the canonical child killing going on in the Warring Clans Era and just thinking that there was no way they would have been able to do the Run the way they'd have wanted to.
