Comment on The World Building of Courting Culture Confusion

  1. I love the point by point logic of TobiramaTM. It's perfectly scientific, it's inarguable, it even leads to some genius developments. And it's absolutely bonkers. It's like the whole world of experimental development without social sciences compressed in a brain on speed-run.

"This, Hashirama explained, is why he had to ask. It was all about consent."

These are the bits that make me love your Hashirama so much. He takes the time to give the example too, bit by bit (hey, Izuna, you adopted the same mode!). Also, politically wise but feral Mito going comme ci comme ca on the background.

Tobirama breaking out the kinjutsu because the village is family, his Anija says so *grabs heart*

"Tobirama says that he's fine with being drained. Everyone rolls their eyes. Hashirama says that's impractical (he knows Tobirama will listen to 'practical'"

Everyone rolls their eyes is hilarious and lovely. Same for Hashirama being sneaky for good.

"Izuna has a light bulb moment - do it on the Run."

All this exchange. Izuna is crazy and ruthless, Tobirama is wary because it's unscientific, and Mito is all for it because she's a little vindictive shit under all the poise. Priceless. For extra cherry, Tobirama acquiesces because children (the children will be happy, he's down, lol).

"Usually the Uchiha are fairly low key but he's guessing this is Izuna's way of giving him a head's up that whatever they're planning is going to be big."

Two things: Izuna being a scrupulously truthful little shit and manipulating everyone at the same time. And Madara's background explanation for loosing out massive jutsus before he was conscious he was peackocking.

    The caper: "Izuna looks innocent."

The closing: I'm laughing because Madara grumbled that he got paralized while Izuna got to bed on a sex bender. Tobirama didn't get it much better.

Tobirama and Izuna Science is MAD SCIENCE.

They follow the scientific method and experimental design but approach it from such a crazy perspective that it just makes us all instinctively yell "WRONG! SO WRONG! OMG! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU???" at the screen when we're reading.

I like to think it's because they're ninja.

In a world where manipulation is expected and ethics is discarded in the name of efficiently reaching mission objectives, what would science be like?

This is what I came up with.

I like to think Izuna watched it happen a few times and went "Aha! That's how you convince Tobi!" and then proceeded to abuse it mercilessly.

Also, politically wise but feral Mito going comme ci comme ca on the background.

LOL! She's off the wall isn't she?

      I know! *hugs him*

I make everyone who spends enough time with Tobirama do it. It's like he infects them all with eye rolling.

How do you convince Tobirama? By telling him it's for the children. 😂

It's so great being able to tell stories like this from a comment fic perspective!

If I'm doing it as an Omake style script, I have to make all their lines line up and the dialogue must look plausible and long form prose just makes everything serious (unless it's Mito). But comment fic style means that I can create the feel that it's as crazy as it actually is!

      YES! You picked it up!

This is exactly why Madara felt that he could go ALL OUT.

      And then he really did.

      Oops for Madara.

      The caper: "Izuna looks innocent."

He's so suspiciously adorable when he does that...

The closing: I'm laughing because Madara grumbled that he got paralized while Izuna got to bed on a sex bender. Tobirama didn't get it much better.

      Nope! Only Izuna had fun.

Mito and Hashirama ate the bento.

Because it might have been poisoned.

(Tobirama got Mito's sashimi bento instead - she knows what he likes.)
