    Spoiler, but the novel and manga reveal there was a Fortune Lover 2 and i am pretty sure the anime won't get to that, and it's revealed the death endings aren't canon as Katarina is still around using her influence to cause trouble...and she has dark magic, not through a ritual or sacrifice, she happens to be the only person ever born with dark magic and all the mana goes to that rather than her Earth magic, hence her only being able to do a bump, she just had no reason to think she had dark magic and thus never tried it.

    ...But i think her being evil isn't because of her own magic corrupting her, and more just loneliness and low self-esteem, the Katarina from the show technically also has dark magic since it's the same body and she is extremely kind...unless you want to say the reason she is so paranoid and refuses to believe she is truly loved and won't be easily exiled or killed after years of friendship is the dark magic making her more cynical.

    I do know her having dark magic becomes ver important in the novels, but those aren't translated yet so i don't know if the magic ever altered her personality in every way, but imagine if the OG Katarina aside from her issues and Sirius always had her own magic corrupting her and making more and more cynical and evil...that would be an interesting topic for a story, and i am sad that Hamefura likely won't get a season 2 so we could get the dark magic reveal in the anime.

      Pretty sure her own magic wouldn't corrupt her. Raphael had that resentful dark mage remember? Once the guy pissed off, he was fine.

      Katrina likely got Dark Magic from the fact that she's a reincarnator, and technically died before.

      As for her personality... She has enablers and her own issues that were never addressed.
