fjgfjhghj yet another person joins the "I love Bede and his character arc but goddammit why did it have to happen off screen" club. I feel that, I truly do. There was so much missed with Bede that could have been talked about and discussed in the narrative - how did he feel after Rose tossed him aside? How does he eventually warm up to Opal? How he breaks away from his need for Rose's approval to get his own dreams and feelings of self-worth - and yet most of these cool ideas were (to my shock, after having written this) completely forgotten about.
Ngl I wrote this fanfic with some spoilers in mind (having watched an early playthrough of the game up to the point that Bede got taken away and knowing that Bede shows up in the finals later and also gets taken in by Opal) and, having not understood the full story when writing this, it actually kind of amazes me that after the scene where Bede destroys the painting nothing further happens with him. When I wrote this I expected the game to have gone further with his character arc after he was taken away by Rose but I was,,, shocked,,, to see they left most of his character arc off-screen fgjhgfhj
fjghghj and thank you!! It seems there are at least two other fanfics atm other than this one that have tried to tackle Bede's character arc (and worked quite successfully at it, if my tugged heartstrings are anything to go by) so hopefully there will be more fanfics like this one and those ones for you to enjoy :D (And also thank you for the praise - I'm happy to hear this was the kind of Bede fanfic you needed for your soul gfhjgfjh)
