    AW MAN 😭😭 THATS SO TRAGIC. IM LITERALLY SO SAD. at least they shared a moment of respite in this cruel world together, and it was fleeting but necessary and probably good for them both. How upsetting to think about the fact that he DIES AFTERWARDS

        aghhhh how it wounds me 🙏

        honestly it’s inspiring, though, because now i feel the itch to imagine a longer-format story where they delve deeper into each other’s dynamics, getting to know one another in subtler ways too, because just based on the way this is written, it almost sets up a softer tone for their current relationship in-game, which i happen to love.
        i will be imagining what happens if he doesn’t die thanks 🤣 maybe living with amicia after it’s all over. i’ll pretend that’s how this story ended HAHAHA!

          I have been toying with the idea of writing an alternate ending where Arnaud lives. I just keep coming up against the fact that poor Lucas would have to be witness to that and it breaks my little heart lol

          Plus, I think the dynamic thrives in this extremely limited and desperate space. Idk if I could keep it believable with the context of everyday mundanity. That definitely makes it weird, then. "A 40-yo man sleeps with a 16yo he's shared horrificly overwhelming experiences with and genuinely cares for on complicated levels" is a whole different beast than "A 40-yo man moves in with a 16yo in her isolated mountain cabin after introducing her to sex" lol. Also: Sophia would not jive with that :D
          Maybe I'm just being uncreative.
          I love you're considering the "hindsight" angle, though - that's exactly what it's been for me. I don't think it's a stretch to see the growing, though volatile, trust between them in the game as having potential for different relationship dynamics, it's not nearly as clearly cut "substitute parent" to me as Arnaud's relationship with Hugo.
