The other nodded in response to Talon, then took a bite of a red bean pastry. The Vercentian assassin furrowed his brows, certain that the man was pulling his leg. In truth, he should have realised that from the start when the informant told him that all he wanted as payment for his services was a couple of coins and a meal.
In which Talon goes into the city during the Lunar New Year festivities in search of a conquest to put his family back in the emperor's favour after his sister deserted them, only to end up running into some interesting (and handsome) personalities that end up throwing him into a different type of journey.
