Chapter Text

Dream stood up walking towards the door with a loud sigh, he stood there for a few seconds just staring at it as he heard yet another knock, he really just wanted to be left alone but the world decided to deny him at this point so he turned the knob and opened the door pulling it open to see the static figure who had the black bandana over his face. He was standing there fiddling with his box as he stared at Dream before the figure twisted the top of the box as static came out.

“Hello, I’m here to take you elsewhere, I wasn’t meant to do this but Tommy said it was my turn which was very rude of him if you ask me. But I'm getting off track. Can you follow me?”

Dream blinked before he nodded and reached over to the coat stand next to the door grabbing his coat. He could actually understand him now so that was interesting. It was probably because of the black box.

“Uh, I guess so? You’re not leading me to an alleyway to mug me or something right? Because if that's your plan I know karate.”

Dream didn’t know Karate, but this figure didn’t need to know that.

The figure tilted his head toward him and then he shrugged, twisting the top of the black box.

“I do not have the intention to mug you at the moment if Tubbo was here then maybe he would but nothing here has value. Oh, Also I’m Ranboo, I probably should’ve said that first.”

Ranboo then backed up and started walking toward the sidewalk only glancing behind him to make sure Dream was following him. Which Dream was, but he was doing it very slowly checking his coat pockets to see if he had anything that he could throw at Ranboo to distract him in case he had been lying about not leading him to an alleyway in an attempt to mug him. He didn’t come up with anything so he just bent down while they were walking and scooped up a small stone, slipping it into his right pocket.

They kept walking until they were about to leave the development and Ranboo turned towards a house putting his black box away, pulling out a rectangle that looked either like a clicker or a phone. Ranboo tapped it a few times and it flashed green before switching to white. He then reached up to his bandana pausing as he turned his head towards Dream who was just standing there staring at the box in confusion until he noticed Ranboo and raised an eyebrow.

“Do I have something on my face?”

Ranboo switched to the black box, twisting the top as the static came out, his other hand still holding onto his bandana.

“I, uh may disappear in a few seconds so I just need you to walk into this house and shut the door behind you please? We have almost everything set up. I'll just prevent it if I remain here. And I really don’t want to restart this process because we’ll have to do it quickly since there are a few systems that weren't meant to last this long. And the sooner we get you out the sooner Phil can terminate the whole thing.”

Dream furrowed his eyebrows at Ranboo in confusion. Systems? What did he mean? Maybe he should just not question that until later when Ranboo wasn’t around staring at him expectantly. He could just walk into the house, wait for Ranboo to disappear, and then walk back home and go back to sleep but he let Ranboo think whatever he was thinking.

“Sure, all I need to do is go into the house right? Do I need to lock the door behind me or just shut it?”

“Just shut it, I think that locking will stall it but I don’t totally know I’m not the one who figured this out so I don’t want anything to break while I’m trying to help you execute it.”

Dream nodded, walking around Ranboo as he walked up to the front door turning the knob and opening it, stealing one glance back towards Ranboo. Dream had looked back right as Ranboo had pulled his bandana off as his entire body disappeared out of existence, the bandana floating onto the cement.

“What the actual hell?”

Dream muttered his hand letting go of the doorknob as he stared at where Ranboo had been before he closed his eyes and lifted one of his hands and put it on the bridge of his nose if he hadn’t been seeing all the weird stuff he had been seeing recently his brain probably would’ve just stopped working right there but at the moment he had been seeing all that stuff so at this point he was just tired of it and so he was going to walk into this house shut the door have nothing happen and then walk out and go home and scream into his couch cushion.

He turned away from the abandoned bandana stepping inside the house grabbing the other side of the doorknob and closing the door with a click. He then stood in front of the door staring at it for a few seconds before sighing. He knew nothing was going to happen. He doesn't know why he even did this in the first place.

Dream placed his hand on the doorknob, turning his hand to open the door, only for the knob to not move at all. He blinked and turned his hand again but the doorknob did not move an inch. It wasn’t even locked. Why was it acting like this?

He then put his second hand on the knob trying to turn it with both hands. Which also didn’t work, the doorknob not doing anything no matter how many times Dream tried to turn it. So he took a step back trying to figure out how to get the door open. He walked over to the window opening the curtains reaching up to grab the rod. Maybe he could hit the door with this?

Dream had just pulled the curtain down off of the window when he glanced outside pausing in his movements as he stared at what was happening outside the house, the rod slipping out of his hands as his jaw loosened.

Outside the buildings across the street were shattered into tiny little pixels along with the sky and most of the road, the only color being left behind by anything that the pixels had already scattered from was pitch black with green flashing across in lines every few seconds but soon even the flashing of green stopped as the pixels started to disperse from everything getting closer to the house Dream was in.

Maybe He shouldn’t try to break down the door with the curtain rod because it looked like that would be a very very bad idea if he tried that since the pixels were already at the place where the bandana had been rested which meant it was time for Dream to go to the back of the house and see if he was surrounded on all sides or if he had the chance to run out the back door as fast as his legs could carry him.

“Okay, time to hope the back door is open and not also becoming pixels. I really don’t want to fall out of the world and die because of whatever is happening.”

Dream muttered, picking the rod back up and running towards the back of the house, stopping just before he made it to the back door as dread settled into his stomach when he saw the fading sky out of the back window.

“Well, that’s far from being good. I seem to be really doomed here, fantastic.”

Dream muttered through his teeth reaching his arm back as he threw the pole at the back door with the soft thunk. He really wanted to scream in frustration right now. The pixels were in the back and front which probably meant they were on both sides of him right now. Which would mean that he was definitely surrounded on both sides and that he was definitely going to die if the pixels got to him.

So Dream walked to the middle of the house sliding down a wall sitting on the floor as he watched both sides of the house. The back was already right against the house and if he was seeing things correctly the front was being destroyed as he sat there and watched the void come for him. He couldn’t see what was happening with the other two sides yet but he could only assume that the house was being destroyed from all sides now.

He watched as the rod he had thrown at the back door fell off the disappearing flooring into the void and turned into pixels as it went and how the front door faded from existence along with the windows. He watched as the other two parts he hadn’t been seeing suddenly appeared and as the stairs on one side disappeared and as the wall behind him started crumbling.

Dream could feel his breathing pick up as he scooted away from the wall trying to keep the floor underneath him. He could feel his eyes start to burn as the realization of the fact he was going to die here fully sunk in. He then moved and tucked his legs under himself putting his hand over his mouth as tears fell out of his eyes, his shoulders shaking before he just closed his eyes. If he was going to fall to his death, he didn’t want his last sight to be the ground disappearing from underneath him.

“I guess I had a good run..even if it was a lonely one.”

He muttered before he put his face onto his knees, pulling his feet closer to him as he felt them lose their support. He managed to take one last deep breath before he felt the floor disappear from under him and he plummeted towards the void.

The first thing Dream heard when his brain came back to awareness was an annoying beeping sound. Then he heard what sounded like three hushed voices but they weren’t as annoying as the constant beeping. He scrunched his nose as he tried to move his arms to push himself but found they were pinned against his side and besides that, he felt really heavy as if he hadn’t moved them in a while. So when his legs did the same, he just tried to open his eyes, blinking as his vision blurred. He heard one of the voices shushing the other two and the sound of footsteps walked over to where he was.

He glazed over to his right seeing a blurry figure standing over him, their hands onto a clear shell that was around him. He saw the blurry head turn the way the person had come from and he heard the person say something and then he heard the sound of the shell lifting off of him. He blinked a few more times as he finally started to see the figure next to him. It was a brunette who had his hair over one of his eyes as he gazed down at Dream glancing at him. He had really weird clothing on a faded yellow sweater that was covered in dirt with an old brown jacket that had multiple tares in it to the point where he wondered how it was still managing to hold its shape on him.

The brunette lifted his fingers and snapped right in front of Dream’s face causing him to move his head away and glare at him. The sound of the snapping had made his ears start ringing and even if Dream was not understanding the situation he still didn't like it.

“Well! You’re responding. That’s good I thought you were spacing out there for a second but I guess your brain is probably having some trouble adjusting. I’m surprised you’re this alert though.”

The Brunette then turned his head again towards a part of the room where Dream couldn’t see anything from his position.

“Is his brain activity alright, Phil? I know he hasn’t been using his body for a few years but shouldn’t he be talking?”

A voice from across the room, which must’ve been Phil, called back along with the sound of someone tapping.

“He’s alright. I think his brain is just trying to comprehend what's happening right now since the last thing he remembers would be the world crumbling around him. Techno can you go get one of the spare wheelchairs while I put the termination code into the system?”

There was a grunt before the sound of footsteps and a door being pushed open and closing behind whoever had opened it.“He’s alright. I think his brain is just trying to comprehend what's happening right now since the last thing he remembers would be the world crumbling around him. Techno can you go get one of the spare wheelchairs while I put the termination code into the system?”

There was a grunt before the sound of footsteps and a door being pushed open and closing behind whoever had opened it.

“Wil, can you get him out of the pod so we can actually put him in the wheelchair by the time Techno comes back? It’ll probably help his brain start reconnecting with his nerves. Just watch his arms and make sure he doesn’t accidentally slap you since his arms haven’t moved in a long time so he may spasm.”

Wil hummed leaning down and hooking his arms around Dream pulling him out of the pod with a grunt. Dream could barely understand what was happening at the moment and just made a sound of protest with his mouth, though it felt a lot more scratchy than it should’ve.

Wil laughed shifting his hold on Dream as the door opened and another person walked in pushing a wheelchair in front of him. The person walked over to them raising a silent eyebrow at Wil before shrugging.

Dream squinted his eyes at the pink-haired man, this one was Techno from the name Phil had called earlier right? Was his hair naturally pink?

Wil readjusted Dream before he then set him down into the wheelchair looking proud of himself which caused Techno to snort.

“Well, at least he can hold his head up, it’d be unfortunate if we had to go find some sort of towel to tie around his neck to keep it up, I remember when I had to, it was very uncomfortable.”

Phil chuckled as he appeared into Dream's view glancing over at him and then crouching in front of him.

“Welcome back from Pandora, Dream.”

The End

Thank you for reading this book. It was meant to just be quick on that I was going to write along with my other one but complications got in the way so this was dragged out much longer than I expected. I still hope you enjoyed it and if there is anything yall have questions about please ask them and I will try my best to answer them.

Side note, I will probably rewrite this sometime. Don't know when but it'll definitely happen some time.
