Chapter Text

Driving towards the local race tracks wasn’t his ideal morning on a Sunday. It was his day off, only his employees would have been working but when your best friend won first place in an international motorbike race competition it's mandatory. Congratulating your bestest friend is a must.

“It’s not everyday that your one and only best friend wins something amazing.”

Lee Minho A.K.A. Lee Know is a professional motorbike racer and Seungmin’s best friend since forever (Seungmin was in first grade and Minho third grade).

It wasn’t the first time he visited the tracks but it never fails to make him a little nauseous. The track smelled of burnt rubber. Walking from the entrance to the tracks he sees a few motorbikes and Lee Know’s crew doing whatever they need to do. He does hope Minho is still around and not in the locker rooms. He might drop all the coffee and treat his carrying.

“Kim Seungmin!” Lee Minho, how can Seungmin not recognise that voice.

Minho was checking his bike, looking over to the side and noticed Seungmin carrying the boxes and bags (hopefully it will be enough for his best friend’s crew). Minho then jogged over to Seungmin, picking up one of the boxes stacked up on his hold.

“You should have called first, you know? One of my team could have helped you carry this stuff?” His best friend said, trying to balance off the boxes he was holding.

“Hyung, this was supposed to be a surprise, and it’s nice seeing you again.” It has been awhile since they saw each other. Seungmin was busy with his shop and therapy and Lee know was busy training and having tours around the world.

As soon as Seungmin knew about his best friend’s arrival in Seoul, he made a plan to surprise him. Seungmin knows Minho practices early in the morning.

“How are you doing, Kim?”

Seungmin snorted, “ I’m good, hyung?”

“Let's put this stuff on the bleachers.” Minho put the boxes of treats on the bottom of the bleachers and they sat down a couple rows up. Minho picked up his favorite iced americano shouting out, “ Guys free and snacks for everyone! Just pick whatever you want!”

How are you doing? How’s your business doing ? It’s been awhile.” Minho asked, taking a sip of his coffee.

“I’m doing fine, hyung. It took me a while to manage the shop but I’ve adjusted well enough. It's better than working for someone else.” Seungmin smiles. It was truly hard but he managed. It was fun, less stressful.

“That’s good.” Looking at Seungmin he then asked. “How about therapy? Everything’s fine I suppose?”

“Physical therapy is fine, my leg will be good as new soon.” He still has a little limp but it is getting better. His psychotherapy though is another thing. He wasn’t doing anything bad but his frequent dreams about  “Mr. Curls” were affecting it. On bad days it’s affecting his work and on good days it just leaves him wondering. “Why am I dreaming about you? Who are you?”

“How about your other therapy?” Of course Minho knows about his “Other therapy” . Minho with his other friends was there for him after the accident happened. His best friend was there when he had panic attacks inside cars. From riding one to driving one. Minho was the one that pushed him to not be scared. It took a long time but Seungmin tried his hardest to overcome it. “Don’t even try to lie to me, Kim.”

“Don’t worry hyung I won’t. I can’t lie to you even if I tried.” Seungmin smiled.

“Any second now,Kim.” Minho threatened.

“Been having dreams about someone I don’t know.” Seungmin answered, it was rather shaky but he managed. “You know that I have nightmares from the accident but this one is different, hyung. It’s weird, like it’s normal to dream about someone you don’t know. It was like I’m seeing what’s his doing in real life. Like I was there with them.” Seungmin explained.

Minho frowned. “Hmmm, that is weird. What did the therapist tell you?”

“They say that it might be in my mind. A figment of my imagination. Maybe I’m slowly losing my mind, hyung.” Talking about the dude having a dream makes Seungmin frustrated. “They only gave pills.” To which Seungmin rolled his eyes.

Minho grinned knowing his best friend’s reaction about medication after medication. “How did the pill things work?”

“They didn’t work, it only made me sleepy and sometimes even made me dream of the dude more!”

Minho laughed at Seungmin’s frustration.

“Hyung! Come on, it's not funny.” It really wasn’t. Dreaming about his accident and the memories he had from his dream when he was unconscious was morbidly normal for him. Those really happened while dreaming about a man he doesn’t even know that’s unusual and weird.

“I know it’s not but sometimes your frustration amuses me, Kim.”

“Hyung? You’re not really helping. I looked it up online though.”

“What?” Minho was shocked. Seungmin doesn’t really look online for information.

“I had no other choice. Looked for books about dreams but nothing seems to make sense. I looked it up online. There’s something about spiritual stuff and you know clairvoyance.”

“Clairvoyance? Like telepathy?” It amazes Minho how Seungmin was practically considered something unreal.

Seungmin is a realist.

“Yeah…. I’m thinking of seeing a shaman or a medium.”

“Wow! Are you sure you’re Seungmin? Because the Seungmin I knew would never.” Minho looked at Seungmin incredulously.

“I’m kind of desperate here, hyung.” Seungmin answered. His voice is getting small.

Noticing this, Minho frantically replied, “Sorry.” Minho breathes and explains,”I’m sorry, this is just new to me Minnie. You’re a very real guy. I expect this from Hyunjin or even my boyfriend but you.” Minho holds Seungmin’s hand and continued. “I guess there’s always and you had no other options which is fine. I’ll come with you to go see those shaman people.”

Seungmin smiles at Minho. Minho wouldn’t be his best friend if they don’t understand each other. Minho smiled back his hand holding Seungmin’s tightly, reassuring.

“Are the two of you finally going to kiss?”

The boys both looked up to where the voice came from. It was just Han Jisung. One of Seungmin’s closest friends and Minho’s boyfriend.

“Did I interrupt something?” Jisung jokingly asked.

 “No.” Seungmin answered.

Minho was still holding Seungmin’s hand. Prompting his boyfriend even more. “Babe, what are you doing here?”

“Channie Hyung was looking for you.”

“Ow! Oh may. Where is he now?” Minho asked Jisung and let go of Seungmin’s hand and stood up.

“Bottom bleachers, eating cookies.” Jisung smiles and reaches for Minho’s hand. To which the other obligingly held.

Minho looked down on the bleachers and smiled. “Chan hyung!” Minho shouted and waved, calling over whoever this “Chan” guy was.

Seungmin looked down at the bottom bleachers . He sees the guy, walking up the stairs towards them. And Seungmin paled, as he saw the guy skipping a couple of steps on the stairs. The closer the man got the more Seungmin was sure. He was sure that this Chan guy was the man of his dreams, quite literally.
