Chapter Text
“Jimin! What time did your parents say they were arriving again?”
Jin and Hoseok hurried around the kitchen, Jin had insisted on making some food for the youngest parents.
He roped Hoseok into helping with the promise of first dibs on the sweet treats.
“After lunch Hyung.” Taehyung shouted over his shoulder as he tried to concentrate on beating Jungkook at Mario kart.
Jimin looked over from his seat on the sofa. “You don’t have to go all out it’s just my parents.”
“Of course I do!” Jin pouted at the younger. Jungkook laughed loudly at the odd expression on Jin’s face.
“He just wants to make a fancy lunch.” Yoongi smirked at the older man, rolling his eyes when Jin stuck out his tongue.
"Also Namjoon’s been stressed they will think we’re not treating you right” Hoseok pointed over to the sofa where Namjoon and Yoongi were sitting.
Jimin laughed softly, moving to the sofa and throwing himself on Namjoons lap
“No way. Hyung they love you.” Jimin hugged the rapper, gigging when Yoongi poked his side. “Stop worrying.”
Soft laughing and teasing filled the dorm living room. Jimin settled into Namjoons arms, appreciating the rare skinship from the leader.
A while later the front door buzzed. “Oh, that will be them now.” Hoseok checks the time on his phone.
“I’ll get it!” Jimin jumped up from Namjoons lap, avoided Taehyung's butt slap attempt, and ran to the door.
He opening it quickly, bouncing on his feet in excitement.
“Eomma!” Jimin laughed loudly as his mother threw her arms around his shoulder pulling him into a tight hug.
“Oh, my baby I’ve missed you!” She scattered kisses across his face, holding his face in her hands.
“I’ve missed you too!” Jimin giggled softly, pulling back from her hold.
“Where’s my hug then?” Jimin’s father stood in the doorway, arms crossed with a playful frown on his face.
“Appa!” Jimin launched himself into his father's arms, smiling brightly as his father's laugh echoed through the house. “Ah, it’s been too long.”
“No long enough” a voice behind them spoke suddenly. Jimin stepped back to look over his farther shoulder “What?”
“Hyung!” A body collided with Jimin, knocking him back a few steps as he looked down at the younger man in his arms.
“Jihyun! Wait what are you going here?” Jimin pulled back, looking over his brother with confusion.
“Rude. I come to surprise you and this is the reaction?” Jihyun pouted up at his brother, looking to his parents who were laughing silently.
“I was just surprised. It’s good to see you.” Jimin pulled him back in for another hug, his brother laughed against his collar.
He had grown a lot since he last saw him which made Jimin’s heartache lightly. “Come on the others are probably wondering what’s keeping us.”
“Hello again boys” Jimin’s father patted Jin on the shoulder, nodding to the rap line.
“It’s good to see you, boys.” Jimin's mother instantly pulled Jungkook and Taehyung into a hug, looking over them with fondness “ah you boys never stop growing up do you?”
“You too. It’s been too long- though you look the same!” Taehyung smirked as the woman laughed heartily, lightly patting his cheek. “Ah, you're always so sweet”
Jimin rolled his eyes at his best friend's cheesy lines, he pulled his brother into the front room stopping so he could properly greet his Hyungs.
“These are new?” Jimin’s mother pointed to the hallway wall. Framed photos now lined the wall.
“Oh yeah, we got them up a few months ago.” Taehyung has begged Namjoon to finally agree to put up the photo wall, it had taken a few hours to get it up and then another 2 for Jungkook and Yoongi to agree on what placement looked best.
“We’re calling it the family wall.” Hoseok threw an arm around Jin's shoulder, pretending to admire the wall.
“You all look so handsome.” Jimin’s mother giggled, looking over the various photos.
“Hyung, why are you always in the middle?” Jimin’s brother pointed to the wall, most group photos featured Jimin in the middle.
“Oh, he always loved photos” Jimin’s mother waved vaguely, moving on onto the living room to sit down. She smiled softly as she noticed the food set out.
“Eomma-“ Jimin followed, trying to let his embarrassment show but Jungkook elbowed him with a giggle.
“Oh, hush you loved being front and center. Oh! I think I have a few old photos on my phone” she quickly pulled out her phone.
“What? No!” Jimin tried to jump forward but Taehyung and Jungkook rushed ahead to sit next to the older woman.
Jimin’s father chuckled softly, walking over to sit opposite.
“Ah, Hyung you were so cute!” Jungkook bounced in his seat, smiling wildly as Jim’s mother scrolled through a few childhood photos.
“I’m still cute.” Jimin huffed.
“Of course you are sweetie.” Jimin’s mother laughed lightly. She held the phone up to s how Namjoon and Hoseok.
“Wow, Jimin-ah you were such a poser!” Namjoon laughed softly, looking over the back of the sofa and at the photos.
“Do you have one of us at the beach? When I buried him in seaweed and he cried?” Jihyun smirked at his brother for his place leaning against the wall.
“Shut up!” Jimin looked at his brother with a pout, pointing at him
“Oh I think I do” Jimin’s father pulled out his phone, slipping on his glasses as he scrolled down to a slightly blurry photo.
“Appa!” Jimin covered his face as the other members leaned over to look at the small screen.
“Awww Jimin you look so small.” Jin cooed as the others gathered around the phone.
“Nothings changed there” Jungkook joked playfully.
Jimin shifted on his feet, looking between the photos and his friends. The playful atmosphere felt slightly stifling for some reason.
“Ah, how rude I didn’t ask if you wanted a drink?” Jin looked briefly over at Jimin, then to Taehyung, and gestured for him to go to the kitchen.
“Just some tea love, we booked a table for dinner at 6 Jimin.” She patted Taehyung's leg as stood.
“Okay, Eomma. I’ll help Tae with the tea.” Jimin kissed his mother’s temple quickly as he passed to go into the kitchen.
“You okay?” Taehyung leaned back against the kitchen counter as Jimin poured out the tea.
“Hmm. I’m fine.” Jimin didn't look up from the cups in front of him.
Taehyung watched him carefully for a moment before walking up to the other, wrapping his arms around Jimin’s shoulders.
“You sure? Your mom was just teasing with the photos.” Taehyung hooked his chin over the other shoulder, watching him make the tea slowly.
“I know. She loves embarrassing me.” Jimin sighed, leaning back into the other's arms.
“You were so adorable Hyung!” Taehyung dropped his arms to circle Jimin’s waist, squeezing him tight.
“Shut up.” Jimin bit his lip, trying not to blush at the others' words.
“Ah, I wanna pinch your cheeks.” Taehyung pinched Jimin’s waist and neck, tickling the other side.
“Tae!” Jimin giggled, dancing out of the other's hold to playfully slap him on the arm. Jimin rolled his eyes, picking up the tray of tea to bring it into the living room.
Everyone says that Jin has a sixth sense, if a member is sick or sad he will know before they even do.
Sometimes this means Jin wakes up in the middle of the night with a- feeling.
So he wasn’t surprised to see the living room lights on and a curled-up figure on the sofa.
Jin walked over quietly, leaning over the back of the sofa to run a hand through Jimin’s hair to get his attention. “Hey? Why are you still up?”
Jimin just shrugged, leaning into the hand.
“You want some tea?” Jin let his hand fall away as Jimin nodded slightly, moving to the kitchen to brew a cup of tea and honey.
“Here.” Jin handed Jimin the cup, sitting down next to the younger.
He tucked his feet under himself, facing Jimin. Jimin hugged the cup to his chest, staring straight down into the drink.
“Was it looking at the old photos?” Jin asked softly,
“It’s not really bothered me much before. I don’t think I look like me? But I do?” Jimin mumbled softly, taking a sip from the cup with a sigh.
“Was it us? Looking at the photos? Did that bother you?” Jin tilted his head as he talked, he was somewhat hesitant as Jimin’s mother showed the old photos to comment on the younger appearance.
Hoseok and Yoongi had similarly expressed later their worry about Jimin’s reaction.
“Maybe. I know you guys see me as me. But only Tae had really seen my old photos before.” Jimin spoke softly, moving to place down the half-finished tea on the coffee table.
“Hmm. Did it make you feel dysphoric or-“ Jin reached out to brush Jimin’s bangs from his eyes gently.
“No. Not to that extent. Just- weird. Like I’m looking at someone I know but can’t remember?” Jimin whispered, eyes tearing up.
“I don’t remember her anymore.”
“Oh Jimin...” Jin wrapped an arm around the youngest shoulders. Pulling him into his arms, resting his chin on the other's head.
“We love you, sweetie. Nothing changes how we see you now.” Jin kissed the youngest hair, brushing through the dyed blonde locks.
The two sat quietly, Jin occasionally whispering soft words while kissing the crown of Jimin’s head.
Eventually, Jin pulled back, brushing a thumb across Jin’s cheek.
“Wanna cuddle with me and Yoongi?” Jimin nodded softly.
“Okay, sweetie.” Jin smiled gently down at the other as he stood, taking his hand and leading him down to his room with Yoongi.
“Hyung- '' Jimin cringed as his voice carried in the quiet room. He shuffled over to the bed as Jin closed the bedroom door.
“Jimin?” Yoongi muttered softly as he turned onto his side, looking sleepily up at the younger. He took in the other's current anxious state before pulling back the covers of his bed.
“Come on.” He patted the spa e next to him, moving back till he was against the wall.
Jimin slipped into the bed, curling up to Yoongi's chest as Jin moved in to wrap around his back.
There was something innately comforting about being trapped between his two oldest hyungs. Jimin buried his head into Yoongi’s neck, breathing in the soft lavender body wash he always stole from Hoseok.
“Okay?” Jin asked quietly, placing a soft kiss on the back of the youngest neck
“Hmm.” Jimin hummed lightly. Snuggling into the soft bedding.
“Love you Jimin'' Yoongi whispered into the younger hair.
“Love you Hyung.”
