Chapter Text
It all started with the toons having to fend for themselves.. They didn't know what to do, no one knew how to keep each other working together to get back in line.
None of them, besides Dandy knew how to get them to straighten up. It may be his outward personality. His odd choice of wording. No one knew, all they knew is that whatever he said it worked. It was 100% questionable by no means but it always seemed to work.
The ichor leaks became less of a worry, more of a chore to keep up on. The twisted were tasked to the more capable toons.
Vee,
Shelly,
Sprout,
Pebble,
And every other capable toons...
There was no favorite among them. Everyone had their disagreements here and there. Some liked others more then the rest. A few gained some relationship status among them.
(Interpret ship crumbs all you want😭)
Everyone was scared, yet they still did what Dandy asked.
What Dandy said,
What Dandy wanted.
What Dandy questioned.
Dandy dandy dandy.
It was always dandy, never about anyone else. Astro was the only one who seemed unbothered by whatever dandy asked. He always had, they were friends since forever.
Although, since the place became vacant of any other people. Dandy and Astro were like a push and pull. Not always friends, not always just a familiar face.
People hated that closeness, people hated the fact Astro seemed to get special treatment. Some noticed it more than others. Vee spotted it first.
"Pstt, Astro may I steal you for a moment?" She said, tapping him on the shoulder. Receiving a small jump form him not expecting it. "Ah? Sure..?" He said, glancing back at Vee from the conversation he was just having with Dandy..
After a few moments of walking the two reached a quieter area, perfect for a 'quick' question.
"So. Astro, you know how Dandy treats everything. Like a joke? Like he can fix it with a snap of a finger hm?" She started, trying to ease her way into the question she wanted to actually ask. Although she was sorta bad at conversation and usually just skips the whole ease into it aspect.
"..." Astro didn't entirely reply but he *was* listening.
"..Anyways, my point is. Hes never been 'snappy' with you? Unlike the rest of us. You sleep all day, rarely get called for runs and yet he always circles back to you." Vee grumbled, expressing her concern that she and everyone else had. Unsure how to get her point across completely where it'll make Astro listen.
"Uhm..i don't know actually. I've noticed it too..i ahh..i just have patience with him?" Astro explained. He truthfully didn't know why Dandy seemed more..'Better' with him you could say.
,,
Dandy stood where he was just abruptly left by Astro, he knew about Vees concerns for Astro and he hated the fact she cared. Dandy wasn't a bad guy, absolutely not.
Right..?
"Dandicus." Dyle queried, glancing down at the bothered flower. Not entirely expecting Dandy to even acknowledge him in his current state. Not receiving a reply after a few minutes he placed a hand on his shoulder. "Lets go."
Dandy noticed the other finally, taking his eyes off the back of Vees robotic head. Hearing the others tone he knew it wasn't an ask it was a demand. He let a annoyed breath out and followed the other
After a short walk, they reached Dyles office. Dandy having a pretty obvious hurt expression.
"What're you so upset about?" Dyle stated, closing the door behind them. Crossing his arms as he looked at the others face. "You know that Astro is well liked among the toons, and you.. Arent so liked. It's normal for the others to check up on—"
"*Oh you're more disliked then anyone, of course they all think your the bad guy* mehmehmeh. Seriously Dyle. I know that, Ive been knowing that but why can't I have a conversation with my fr— ... friend." Dandy retorted cutting him off in a agitated tone. Losing his temper only slightly although enough for his claws from his twisted form to try to come out.
They stood there in silence for awhile after that.
,,
Astro had finally escaped Vees worried questions. Sighing to himself after she left it always overwhelmed him when she wouldn't let up believing he was okay.
Walking back to where he left Dandy, not expecting him to still be there he overheard loud muffled words. Not wanting to pry he kept walking but it seemed to come from Dyles office so he was extremely curious...
