Chapter Text
After some time their lessons finally came to an end.
Kai insisted on giving Yeonjun a tour of the school after lunch since they would have the most time and he could show him everything properly.
"So this is where we will have our chemistry class and right across is our class for biology!" Kai pointed with two fingers directly on the doors of both classrooms.
Yeonjun nodded with a slight smile forming on his lips.
"I'll show you where the school playground is next, we always have P.E there.. unless its cold, but you can also go there during breaks between classes, which is good when it gets more hot. Actually we can go there tomorrow!" Kai giggled from excitement.
"Yeah sounds good." Yeonjun replied. He was still kind of shy, but you can't blame him, this is his first day after all.
"Anyways do you mind me asking why did you transfer so suddenly? I mean the school year is about to end soon anyways." Kai questioned and looked at Yeonjun with genuine curiosity.
"Uhm.." Yeonjun knew that this question would come eventually , he just didn't expect it to come so soon.
"My dad and I had to move here because he got a really good job opportunity that he couldn't refuse." Yeonjun said while scratching the back of his neck.
"Oh, makes sense!" Kai wheezed.
"But what about your mom? Did she stay behind?"
"Oh yeah she had to stay there due to her job." Yeonjun akwardly laughed out.
"Well that's unfortunate." Kai pouted at that.
"No don't worry its fine! I'll be visiting her from time to time, I will manage."
"I'm glad, it must be hard leaving everything behind just like that."
"Yeah.."

- 2 months back -
"Wow look at him! He can't even stand up properly!" Someone laughed out. Yeonjun doesn't even remember who it was, which is not a bad thing.. hes trying to forget about this completely after all.
"I know so pathetic! His dad is so successful but he can't even manage to have a proper reputation in school."
"His parents must be so embarrassed."
So much laughter around him, while he's struggling to even breathe properly .
"Wow look at him! Our little rich boy Yeonjun who currently can't even breathe."
"I wonder if you're gonna tell on us. Can you? Do you want this to go into your school record?" The leader of the group asked.
Yeonjun could barely even hear him when he suddenly grabbed him by his collar, pulled him up and slammed him against a wall.
"I asked you a question, so answer. Will you tell on us.. or not." The grip on Yeonjuns collar getting tighter and tighter by the second.
Yeonjun tried to speak, but he was so weak and due to that nothing came out.
Instead he shook his head, thinking it was enough.
It wasn't. Not for them.
"No i don't want you to shake your head that's not enough. I need to make sure that you won't tell anyone." The guy's tone slowly getting more and more aggressive.
Yeonjun tried to stop sobbing, since that currently wasn't helping him at all.
Eventually he did stop and he finally answered.
"N-n-n-no." Yeonjun managed to spill out.
"N-n-no what?" The guy said in a mocking voice.
Yeonjun could barely breathe, but he knew that if he wouldn't answer this would either never end.. or he would be dead. Their parents had way more power than his dad. And combined? That wouldn't be good for him. His dad didn't even really care about him in the first place.
They knew.
A good amount of money could make his father make sure that anything releated to Yeonjun would be gone.
But Yeonjun didn't wan't that.
He didn't want his bullies to win. Or to kill him. No, that would be embarrassing.
So with every drop of energy that he had left, he managed to say.
"I-i-i-i w-w-w-won't."
The guy dropped him immediately, making Yeonjun fall onto the ground pretty hard.
It hurt. But at least he was out of his hold.
"Good, I thought so." The guy laughed in his face.
"Anyways this is getting pretty boring now.. Let's just leave him here and go get some drinks, how does that sound!" The leader said enthusiastically.
Everyone from his friend group cheered and followed, walking past Yeonjun who got kicked at least 2 times if he remembers correctly.
Yeonjun laid there for at least a hour.

Once Yeonjun arrived home, covered in blood and bruises the butler greeted him immediately. When he noticed Yeonjuns state he gasped so loudly their neighbours most likely heard.
The butler ran off, not even asking if he was okay.
Yeonjun sometimes wondered if that was just in his contract or if he just hated him.
After a few minutes of just standing there not even having the energy to untie his dirt & blood covered shoes the butler came and started leading Yeonjun to his father's office.
Great.
The butler opened the door and Yeonjun walked in.
His dad was facing the wall, so all Yeonjun could see was his back.
"Hello dad." Yeonjun greeted him formally.
"Yeonjun. Please take a seat." His dad replied still having his back turned on him.
Yeonjun sat down carefully, scared that if he would sit in a wrong position the bruises that he had on his legs would hurt like crazy.
Thankfully they didn't decide to act out and he probably sat on the only part of his legs that were actually fine.
Once he sat down his father turned around and heavily sighed. Yeonjun could see the embarrassment in his father's eyes once he opened them to look at him.
This is exactly what the bullies were talking about.
"Yeonjun, could you explain to me what exactly happened."
It didn't even sound like a question. It sounded more like a demand.
"I was just walking home from school and they attacked me out of nowhere." Yeonjun said while having his head down. He really didn't want to hold eye contact with his father.
"Who."
"Dad you wouldn't know them."
"Yeonjun who was it. Were they from poor families?"
If only he would know.
"No.."
"Was it them again?"
"…yes."
He was so scared.
"Yeonjun you know damn well that i told you to not start anything with them." His father said, his voice getting slowly more and more angry.
"But dad i just told you that they were the ones who attacked me! How is it my fault!" Yeonjun accidentally said it in a more loud voice than he wanted it to be.
He finally met his father gaze.
He could see that his face was red as a tomato now.
"Yeonjun.. you do know what they could do to me and my company, right?" His knuckles turned white from how much his wrist was clenched.
Of course. This was about him and his reputation.
Not about Yeonjun getting almost beaten to death.
Tears started forming in Yeonjuns eyes.
"Don't you even dare cry in my office! You did this to yourself!" His father finally started yelling. Which made Yeonjun tear up even more.
He had enough.
He doesn't care what he will do to him anymore.
"Why do you always make this about yourself dad! You don't even care that they almost killed me!" Yeonjun finally snapped, tears finally stearing down his cheeck.
"Yeonjun!" His dad yelled so loudly it made Yeonjun flinch.
"All you've ever done to this family is embarrass us, you never brought us anything good I always have to clean up your mess!"
"No you don't have to clean anything up, the only reason why you're "cleaning everything up" is because you don't want to have any dirt on your name!" Yeonjun cried out. He's so scared of what his father will do.
"You don't know what you're talking about."
"Yes I do! You never cared about me nor my mom you only care about your status, I'm not suprised that mom cheated on you I wouldn't want to date a money obsessed freak either!"
Uh oh.
Yeonjun never gone that far before.
Sure sometimes he talked back to his dad, which got him grounded or beaten up.
But this is bad.
We don't talk about Yeonjun's mom in this house.
Once when he was still a kid and his parents got freshly out of the divorce, he mentioned something about missing his mom.
He still remembers the look on his dad's face, he doesn't know what kind of look it was.. it was like all emotions mixed together.
He remembers his dad standing up and giving Yeonjun a slap so hard he swears that his head spun at least 3 times in that moment from how strong the slap was.
Once he finally stopped talking he realised how fucked up he really was right now.
His father didn't even say anything but Yeonjun could see every vein on his forehead popping from the rage.
He grabbed a vase that was near him and trew it directly at Yeonjun.
Thankfully Yeonjun saw right trough him and managed to miss the vase by a millisecond.
He saw his father stand up and he realised that his dad, shattered glass on the floor and his mom being mentioned isn't really a good combination.
He was being serious when he said that he wouldn't mind making Yeonjun disappear for a good amount of money.
Well now he's clearly doing it for free.
Yeonjun might just currently be the most lucky person alive, because no one locked the office that they were both in.
His dad usually locks the office when they are discussing something serious, but he probably didn't belive the butler about how much beaten up he got.
Actually god knows what the butler told him.
Yeonjun mamaged to run up the stairs even though not only was his dad chasing him with a piece of shattered glass, but his whole body was still limp from getting beaten up earlier.
He quickly ran into his room and locked himself inside, his dad almost catching up to him.
His father banged on Yeonjun's door so loudly he was suprised that he didn't break it.
After at least 20 minutes his dad finally calmed down and came back into his office, probably being loud due to the amount of glass that was pretty much everywhere. But thankfully Yeonjun didn't hear him, he's not really sure if he fell asleep somewhere on the floor or if he was just somewhere where he couldn't hear him.
Well, let's just say that he stayed in his room for 2 weeks until he was bold enough to finally come out, since he's very sure that if he would come out the day right after that happened his dad would probably throw the glass at him instead.

- current time -
"Okay so how do you like the school. Is it nice or was your last one better?" The school day was finally over but both of them decided to stay at the school playground on the benches where the school sports team had their extra lesson.
"Honestly I like this one more, it seems way more clean and organised."
That was a lie.
This school visually sucks compared to the other one, since the last one was a private school. But he really doesn't care about the appearance, all he cares about are the people.
Kai laughed loudly at that the people who had the extra class could probably hear him from there. "Really? Clean?"
"Is it not clean?" Yeonjun asked trying to hide how scared he was, he knows that he shouldn't doubt Kai since he was very nice to him this entire time, but what if it was all an act? He really doesn't want to transfer again. Kai was right after all, transfering when the school year is about to end is very stupid.
"Wow.." there were tears forming in the corners of Kai's eyes at that point.
"I can really tell that this is your first day" Kai was still laughing, but he stopped when he saw the look on Yeonjuns face.
"Hey are you okay?" His emotions quickly turning from laughter into worry.
"Oh yeah sorry about that." Yeonjun quickly tried to hide it, but he knew that Kai could see right trough him.
"Hey i know that we've been friends for not even a day but I want to make sure that you know that you can always talk to me about anything." Kai reassured him, he was really worried about Yeonjun.
But Yeonjun stopped listening not even halfway through.
"Friends?" He questioned shyly.
"Uh yeah.. wait did you not consider me your friend? Oh I'm so sorry we don't have to be friends if you dont want too." Kai started panicking.. to be honest he did want to be friends with Yeonjun, but since he cared about him a lot already, he knew that it would be better to just let him choose what he's comfortable with.
"Oh no no I do want to be your friend! Its just that.. honestly no one really called me their friend on the first day of school, like ever." Yeonjun is not sure if he will later regret being honest with him, even if it was something so stupid. But he has a feeling that Kai won't be a bad friend.
"Oh okay I see, honestly i want to be friends with you too i just wanted to let you choose whatever you felt comfortable with." Kai doesn't really like lying, he is able to tell the truth even when he doesn't know that it is the truth, he's just like that, but unfortunately people tend to use that against him a lot.
"Well that's good because i want to be your friend too" Yeonjun said while smiling, it was the first day and he was already happy. Honestly even if Kai would turn out to be evil, he would just be glad that he had at least one single good day.

They stayed at the school playground longer than they expected, they talked about school and occasionally about the school sports team who they could see since they had an extra class right now. Actually, that was their current topic.
"Do you recognise anyone from the club?" Kai asked Yeonjun while pointing at the club members who were currently getting ready for something, they didn't really know what but that didn't matter.
"Please don't tell me that they are all from our class." Yeonjun replied.
"No don't worry only two of them are, those two are the best ones at pretty much everything when it comes to P.E."
"I see, I think that i saw them in class today but i can't really put a name to them." Yeonjun pointed at Taehyun and Beomgyu.
"Yeah you got them right!" Kai giggled.
"The one who has the long hair is Choi Beomgyu and the one with the boba like eyes is Kang Taehyun!"
"Boba like eyes? What kind of comparison is that!" Yeonjun laughed at that.
"Hey everyone will agree with me on that! Plus he looks cute with them so its fine." Kai replied quickly im defense.
"Cute?" Yeonjun questioned, he was curious if Kai was gay or not.. only then did he see that it was a bad idea and that he probably said it in a weird tone since Kai's cheecks went from his usual color to red like crazy and he started sweating.
"Wait no I didn't mean it in a bad way!" Yeonjun quickly corrected himself before he ruined his reputation once again.
Kai was still as red as a tomato on a sunny day when he replied "you have to promise me that you won't tell that to anyone, no one knows that I'm.. you know." Kai couldn't even look at Yeonjun, otherwise he would probably explode either from embarrassment or from fear.
"No don't worry I won't, I'm not that type of person." Yeonjun started quickly reassuring Kai. Honestly Yeonjun doesn't even know this about himself, he doesn't like having a label, he just wants to be able to love whoever he wants. And the fact that Kai thought that he might be a homophobe really made him shiver. Because Kai doesn't know it, but he basically compared Yeonjun to his dad, which is really not something that you want.
"Thank you, at least someone." Kai smiled warmly at Yeonjun, Kai knew that he could trust Yeonjun and Yeonjun knew that he could trust Kai.. even after a day.
"Anyways let's change the topic so you won't be so red anymore, ah seriously Taehyun would be able to see this even from that far away if he would squint his eyes really hard."
Kai laughed at that and slowly started getting his color back, which made Yeonjun happy. This was his first time having a friend in a long while and it was really fun.
"Okay but i actually do have a question." Yeonjun pouted. "Are they actually good at everything in P.E or are they just decent?"
"Oh no they are definitely good at everything, you should be glad that you didn't transfer yesterday, we had to run 12 laps, I almost collapsed!" Kai giggled, so did Yeonjun.
"Beomgyu finished first and Taehyun finished right after him."
"Wow I would have been last to be honest, running is so boring for me." Yeonjun said.
"Oh no you wouldn't want that trust me." Kai quickly replied hoping that Yeonjun will shake that thought away.
"Why not?" Yeonjun pouted.
"Do you know Choi Soobin? He's in our class." Kai asked him.
"Is he the one that sits in the middle of the class?"
"Yeah that one, well long story short from what ive seen he's good at everything at school except for P.E and well when all of us finished running and were already resting on the benches he was still running and this one guy started making fun of him and started imitating how he's running saying he run's like a zombie and well everyone except for me, Taehyun and Beomgyu laughed and this is where Beomgyu comes into the story, while the guy was still imitating him Beomgyu took off his shoe and trew it at the guy! And then he had to bring the shoe back to Beomgyu! So moral of the story, if people will ever laugh at you wait until Beomgyu throws his shoe and then continue with your day!" Kai finished saying everything in less than a minute, he had to take very deep breaths after that.
"Well that's a lot." Yeonjun replied still trying to procede what happened.
"Yeah I know but seriously ive also recently saw Beomgyu staring at Soobin like so much!"
Yeonjun was about to say something but Kai cut him off
"Oh look it seems like their lesson ended!" Kai pointed at the sports team.
"Should we call them over to sit with us?" Kai asked Yeonjun.
And Yeonjun was gonna say no.
But then he realised that Kai most likely had a crush on Taehyun so he just nodded and let him do the rest.
"Hey Taehyun, Beomgyu come sit with us!" Kai waved his hand at them.
Both Beomgyu and Taehyun just looked at eachother and walked over to them.
"Hey we haven't met yet right? I am Taehyun and this is Beomgyu nice to meet you!" Taehyun greeted Yeonjun and Beomgyu waved at him as he sat down.
"Nice to meet both of you, I am Yeonjun."
