Chapter Text
“You’re treating this chance like it’s going to sit nicely until you’re ready. It won’t.” Eito and Takumi were in their office, locked in a heated debate over a lapse in the human forces’ current defenses, discovered earlier that afternoon.
“I’m treating it like incomplete intelligence,” Takumi argued with a scowl, still seated at his desk whereas Eito had stood up from his.
“Kamyuhn has confirmation from three different channels, Takumi.”
“Two and a half,” Takumi corrected. “And one of them has been wrong before.”
Eito exhaled a breath of frustration, walking around his desk to stand in the space between them. “So what? Your plan is to wait until every little detail is perfect?”
“My plan is not to gamble with people’s fucking lives because you’re impatient.” Takumi finally stood up as well, anger in his eyes.
“This is not about me being impatient!” Eito exclaimed, frustration breaking through in his tone.
“Do you seriously want me to move now? To send troops to smash through those tiny gaps? To use their bodies to keep that door from closing on us?”
“I want you to move before those gaps close altogether,” Eito snapped back. “Every hour we wait, we’re giving them time to notice the pattern. To adjust rotations. To seal the opening you’re so worried about misjudging and putting soldiers in harm’s way.”
“And if you’re wrong?” Takumi challenged.
“If I’m wrong, then we abort.”
“You don’t abort missions like this,” Takumi’s voice was low and razor sharp, gesturing broadly to the side with one hand. “You absorb the cost and find a way to convince yourself it was acceptable.”
“Takumi—“ Eito grabbed the report off his desk, walking over and shoving it in the general’s face. “This is not a suggestion. This is a countdown. You don’t have time to wait and see. We do this now, or we lose our chance!”
“And if we do it now, we do it blind!” Takumi argued, the look in his eyes as pleading as it was angry. “That’s just more blood on our hands!”
“They either bleed now, or they bleed later when those troops break through our defenses,” Eito replied coldly. Takumi shook his head.
“You’re talking like speed is mercy.”
“I’m talking like delay is not!”
They were both quiet for a moment, breathing hard and glaring at each other.
“I need one more day,” Takumi begged. “Just one.”
“There isn’t one.” Eito’s reply was immediate, the silence seeming to stretch out further between them this time. Takumi stared at him helplessly, but he was already cracking and Eito’s resolve was like steel.
“You’re certain.” Takumi finally spoke again, his voice quieter, more resigned.
“Yes.” Eito didn’t waver.
“Enough to stake this on it?”
“Enough to stake myself on it.”
The silence was heavy as they stared at each other, the steady tick, tick, tick of the clock the only sound in the room.
“You don’t get to decide that alone,” Takumi said eventually. Eito’s lip curved into something that wasn’t quite a smile.
“Neither do you.”
Takumi leaned heavily on the desk, planting both hands on the surface and tiredly dropping his head in surrender. “You’re really impossible, you know that?”
“What does that mean?” Eito watched him, the line of the general’s shoulders seeming to carry the weight of the world.
“I mean you don’t bend,” Takumi said, still not looking at him. “You think you know everything. You come up with the right answer and just expect everyone else to get on board.”
Eito stepped closer, leaning over and placing gloved hands on the desk opposite Takumi. “And you carry everything until it crushes you and call it responsibility.”
Takumi’s breath stuttered despite himself. “Eito, this isn’t about—“
“No,” he quietly cut in, watching Takumi even as Takumi avoided his eyes. “It never is. That’s the problem.”
Takumi let out another shuddering exhale, forcing his emotions aside. “None of this has anything to do with the operation.”
“We act,” Eito said softly. “You give me the order. I see the operation through. And whatever happens, we share the weight of that sin. Just like always.” He lowered himself down to catch Takumi’s eyes as he stared at the desk. “…I can’t give you a day, but I can give you an hour. Then you give the order. Okay?”
Takumi grit his teeth and shook his head. “I don’t need an hour to decide.” He finally lifted his gaze back up to meet Eito’s. “You’re right… I sound like a coward.”
“You sound like a good person,” Eito countered gently. “War is just evil sometimes.”
“Put together a squad,” Takumi continued. “Make sure they know exactly what they’re facing and the risks involved. Every soldier should decide for themselves whether they’ll fight. You need a unit that‘s prepared to lay down their lives for the cause. Hopefully it won’t come to that, but you can’t afford for them to hesitate when it gets right down to it.”
Eito smiled at him. “Yes, sir.” It amazed him how noble Takumi’s spirit still remained after so many years of being forced to commit atrocity after atrocity. “Every weapon in that base that I don’t destroy, I’ll lay at your feet.”
Takumi snorted at the corny line, finally cracking a small smile. “…and you’re going to come back in one piece. That’s a direct order.” His voice wavered, and it was obvious what the root of Takumi’s hesitation truly was, even if he’d never admit it. “You’ll be back here in exactly four days with a full report on how it all went off without a hitch.”
“I promise,” Eito whispered, leaning over the desk to kiss him. He couldn’t promise that, Takumi knew. Not truly. But he trusted Eito’s judgement that this would work, and he knew that he would fight like hell as always—stubbornly refusing to die when he should have been dead ten times over by now. “I can go start preparations right now.”
Takumi didn’t let him stand up straight, grabbing the front of his uniform so quickly that Eito didn’t even see him move, medals jingling on his jacket. “You said you could give me an hour.” He looked Eito directly in the eyes, the look in them hardened. “Give me my hour.”
Eito looked a little breathless, gazing back at Takumi as he was held mere inches from his face. “Let me go lock the door then, General.”
Takumi let go, and Eito grinned at him before pulling back, walking to their door and audibly clicking the lock into place. Takumi settled back into his chair, stopping Eito before he could come any closer. “Take them off now to save me time later.” Eito raised his eyebrows but obeyed the order, maintaining eye contact as he unhurriedly opened each button of his jacket, only unbuckling his belt when his hands finally reached it. The general watched him as he stepped closer and perched himself on the desk with a smile, extending a long leg for Takumi to take his boot off. Takumi smirked back at him, leaning down and pressing a kiss to his shin before finding the zipper on the back, tugging it down and coaxing the boot off before giving Eito’s other foot the same treatment. It left nothing else in the way of Takumi tugging his pants down his legs, exposing pretty pale skin that seemed to go on for miles, blemished only by Takumi’s own bite marks in various stages of healing on the insides of his thighs.
Eito bit his lip when Takumi leaned down to kiss the sensitive skin, anticipating a fresh wound, but he only brushed his lips over the front of Eito’s underwear and just below his belly button. He sighed softly and threaded his fingers through Takumi’s hair, spreading his thighs wider for him. “Come on, kiss me, Takumi…”
Takumi hummed and pulled Eito down into his lap, the chair creaking under their combined weight as Eito leaned down to meet Takumi’s lips in a hungry kiss. He shrugged out of his jacket and tossed it to the side before starting on Takumi’s, moaning softly into his mouth when he groped Eito’s ass with both hands. His kisses tasted like fear, like dread, and Eito ran both hands up his chest back to his jaw once his jacket was open, cradling Takumi’s face as he looked down at him with dark eyes. “Are you really going to spend your hour worrying for my life?” Eito whispered, the general’s jacket jingling even more than his own when it hit the floor. “Your lack of faith in me wounds me, you know.”
“I know how hard you are to kill,” Takumi smiled wryly up at him. “But I’m in love with you, so I’m going to worry anyways.”
“Well, can you wait to start worrying until after you fuck me?” Eito deftly opened Takumi’s belt buckle and the button of his pants. “You know I hate ops that make me travel… I need something good to think about while I’m suffering in a tent for three nights.”
Takumi laughed softly, hopelessly charmed, Eito’s dry sense of humor rarely surfacing with anyone besides him. “Hand me my lube, sweetheart. I can’t reach the drawer.”
Eito happily complied, retrieving the bottle from Takumi’s desk. It was, admittedly, lower than the bottle in Eito’s. There might have been a bit of truth to Takumi’s claim that Eito was the one who crossed the room more often. Takumi popped the cap open with his thumb, resuming their kiss as he did, tugging Eito’s briefs down to the tops of his thighs. Eito hummed his approval and leaned forward, wrapping his arms around Takumi’s neck and arching his back, sighing when a finger pushed inside him. The slide was easy and familiar, and one digit became two without any difficulty, panting softly against his lips as he slid gloved fingers through Takumi’s hair. “O-oh…”
Takumi’s mouth wandered down his neck when Eito became too distracted to keep up, keeping an arm tight around his waist as he lazily pumped his fingers in and out of him. Eito whined when he curled them just right—the pressure against his prostate subtle, but absolutely lovely inside him. He was getting hard, his cock still trapped in his underwear, but he was in no rush for more. Takumi bit his collarbone, exposed above the collar of his undershirt, and he whimpered despite himself, his hands dropping back down to dig Takumi’s cock out of his pants.
A knock on their door made Eito startle, looking over his shoulder as the doorknob rattled. “Ignore it,” Takumi commanded, tilting Eito’s chin back towards him. “They can wait.”
Eito groaned softly, kissing him again as a faint voice in the hallway said they have to be in there, right?—another officer replying, where else would they be? Takumi’s fingers pressed in deeper, simply playing with him now instead of warming him up to take more, and Eito eagerly pushed against Takumi’s tongue with his own as his free hand moved into Eito’s hair. Eito pulled his right glove off with his teeth, reaching back to wipe a bit of excess lube from Takumi’s hand and using it to stroke his cock, smiling into the kiss when Takumi moaned. He was always so responsive, not needing much attention at all before he was hard enough to fuck him, and he lost his patience before Eito did for once—withdrawing his fingers to pick Eito up and deposit him back on the desk, making him laugh. Eito’s hair spilled over the dark wood like a halo, grinning as Takumi pulled his underwear off the rest of the way, looking like a man on a mission as he stood between his thighs.
“You look like a whore,” Takumi told him with a smirk as he pressed three fingers back inside him just to make Eito moan, his arm flexing as he thrust in deep. Eito gasped in delight, arching and tilting his head back as his body tensed around it, the assault on his prostate intensifying from before.
“Haah… and as the only person I’ve ever slept with, whose fault must that be?”
“Oh, I take full credit. I’ve done great work.”
Takumi withdrew his fingers and replaced them with his cock, teasing Eito’s hole with the head of it before slowly pressing inside. The soft gasp it earned him was magnificent, that helpless little sound conveying more pleasure than any amount of moaning or screaming, Eito’s lashes fluttering as he gazed up at him. “Takumi,” he breathed, biting his lip and moaning quietly as he bottomed out. Takumi had to kiss him again, leaning down to do just that and humming when Eito raised himself onto his elbows to meet him halfway, Takumi’s hands finding his thighs as he slowly started to rock his hips.
Eito couldn’t handle gentle treatment and Takumi knew it, fully expecting him to say something bratty any moment now to cut through the heavy tension and needle Takumi into getting rougher, but he tolerated it longer than usual this time, much to Takumi’s pleasure. He could feel the strain in Eito’s body as he struggled to breathe normally, trembling a little as need built up under his flushed skin like lightning before it strikes. Takumi wasn’t fucking him slowly anymore, but it wasn’t fast either, just waiting for Eito to crack and ask for more. “Takumi,” he finally repeated, sounding frustrated this time as he broke away from Takumi’s lips, and the general laughed fondly before picking up the pace, tightening his grip on Eito’s thighs. The sound of skin slapping against skin became audible, and with it, Eito’s voice—little moans and gasps spilling from his mouth more frequently now as his body started rocking back and forth atop the desk with every thrust. Eito clumsily reached behind himself, hands instinctually seeking his pillow to clutch onto, but there was nothing there, leaving him scrambling for purchase along the edge of the desk.
Takumi swore, moving a hand to splay over Eito’s chest and grope it indulgently, the leg he dropped immediately wrapping itself around his waist. Eito whined and laughed breathlessly, trying to tug Takumi in closer with his foot on the small of his back. “Y-yes, fuck…!” Takumi moved the leg onto his shoulder instead, changing the angle and making Eito cry out sharply, one of his reports crumpling in Eito’s fist as he was turned halfway onto his side.
“There you go,” Takumi breathed, adjusting his grip a little in order to maintain that position for him. Eito muffled his moans in the hand that still remained gloved as Takumi pounded into him, giving him exactly what he needed, how he needed it. “You’re gonna feel me the whole time you’re gone… you’re gonna remember who you’re fighting for, aren’t you?”
Eito keened and nodded quickly. “Always for you, always you…” He sucked in another sharp gasp, still trying to contain his voice with his hand as he took it, fucked hard and deep and in such a way that had his legs shaking. There was another fucking knock on the door, and Eito nearly sobbed, reaching down to grab his cock with the hand not covering his mouth.
“I’m busy,” the general snapped at whoever it was, pulling out and turning Eito onto his front, Eito clumsily getting his socked feet back under him. “Whatever it is, come back in an hour.”
“General, it’s about the operation—“
“What the hell do you think I’m busy with?” Eito whimpered at the violent edge to his voice, feeling Takumi’s hand hold his shoulder before burying himself back inside, and he shook with the effort of taking it quietly, his breath frantic as he suppressed his cry. “Go bother someone else and come back in an hour if you still can’t figure it out on your own.”
It was wildly unprofessional of him, but considering the stakes of the operation, the general could get away with coming off as stressed and short-tempered. Plenty of people had seen him and his lieutenant arguing about it on their way here from the war room, after all. Whoever was in the hallway didn’t say anything else, and Takumi’s full attention went back to giving it to Eito—a hand tangling in his hair and holding him down as he fucked him hard and deep. Eito’s eyes rolled back, a stupid smile on his face as Takumi’s cock filled him again and again, repeatedly driving into that incredible spot inside of him without mercy. He was moaning again, and if any of their subordinates were still outside trying to interrupt them, that wasn’t Eito’s problem. Takumi pinned his wrists behind his back, Eito’s cheek pressing against the desk and knocking his glasses askew as his body rocked with every thrust. He was willing to bet that his cock was dripping onto the floor where it was trapped under the desk just out of Eito’s reach, ready to spill from just the slightest touch—though with the way Takumi was fucking him, that might not have even been necessary.
“Fuck, cum inside…!” Eito pleaded as Takumi’s own low moans started get louder and breathier, grabbing a handful of Eito’s ass with the hand that had been in his hair a minute ago. “Cum inside, p-please, General… Please, I want to feel it for the rest of the day…”
“Eito,” Takumi groaned, gasping as his pace began to border on brutal, focused only on the orgasm he could feel roiling deep in his gut, the muscles in his stomach tensing. “You’re gonna keep feeling it until you come home and I give it to you again, got it?”
“Mm-hm…! Yeah…!” Eito nodded frantically, taking it all until Takumi’s hips slammed in once more and stilled, moaning roughly as he emptied himself deep inside. Eito quivered as hot cum flooded his hole, already on the verge of coming untouched when Takumi reached down to grab his cock. His knees buckled as he immediately hit his peak with a loud cry, thick ribbons of white hitting the floor, gasping and sobbing through the ecstasy as he lost control completely. Takumi pinned him against the desk, not letting him collapse and jerking Eito off until he got teary-eyed, begging for mercy and shaking hard enough that he struggled to even stay upright.
Eito gasped for air once Takumi’s hand finally retreated from his over-sensitive cock, pulling out of him and leaving Eito gripping the desk for dear life as he stepped back to admire his hole, cum already slowly leaking from him. Takumi smiled tiredly at the sight of it, briefly kneeling down to lick up the dribble that was dripping over his perineum and balls and chuckling at the yelp it startled out of Eito. “Oh darling, you’re so fucking good…”
Eito wiggled his fingers to make sure he could still move them before pushing himself onto his elbows again, using the rest of his energy to turn around to face Takumi. He hadn’t even taken most of his clothes off, still wearing his damn boots, pants hanging loosely around his thighs as he kissed him, long and unhurried. Eito hummed against his lips, sticky and satisfied as they gradually cooled down, eventually sharing exhausted little giggles in the quiet space between their faces. “I feel better now,” Takumi whispered to him, and Eito softly kissed his jaw.
“There’s going to be so much more when we celebrate the annihilation of the southeast legion in four days.”
“The subjugation of the southeast legion,” Takumi sighed, giving him a look. “Promise me you’ll give them the opportunity to surrender.”
Eito rolled his eyes. “Okay, I promise.” He caressed Takumi’s cheek with the backs of his knuckles, a gentle smile on his lips. “Now stop making that face. It makes you look even uglier than normal.”
Takumi chuckled, taking half a step back from him and assessing the mess they’d made. Apart from some rumpled and displaced reports and the cum on the floor, it really wasn’t too bad. “Let’s get you dressed, then. You have a lot to do.”
Takumi helped Eito get his clothes back on, his underwear already feeling mortifyingly damp with Takumi’s cum as he shrugged his jacket back onto his shoulders. It felt gross to redress without taking a shower, but that grossness was something of a guilty pleasure, secretly liking the idea that anyone would be able to smell sex on him if they got close enough—closer than Eito would ever actually allow. Takumi’s pants were pulled up and re-buckled, but he was still walking around in his undershirt as he helped fix Eito up, his uniform top draped carelessly over his desk chair as he combed Eito’s hair for him. “You’re still all flushed,” he pointed out with a smile as he smoothed every silver strand back into its proper place. “There’s no point in fixing your clothes if you can’t fix your face.”
“I’m not sure there’s a point to doing either.” Eito smiled up at him from where he sat. “We’ve gotten caught so many times by now; I wouldn’t be surprised if everyone could guess exactly how our little argument ended.”
“Well…” Takumi sighed, tapping Eito’s shoulder to indicate he was done and that he should stand. “That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t make an effort. It’s really not fair that people keep getting tangled up in our bullshit.”
Eito raised an eyebrow at him, pulling the glove he’d removed back onto his right hand and flexing his fingers. “Unfair enough that you want me to change my behavior when we’re outside your bedroom?”
Takumi’s hesitation gave away his answer. Eito might start it most of the time, but Takumi didn’t exactly tell him no very often. “…we can just be sneakier,” he said eventually, not meeting Eito’s eyes as he grinned at him. “Starting when you get home.”
Eito leaned down and kissed him once more, long and slow with all of his unspoken feelings poured into it.
“I’m looking forward to it, General.”
