hello to all who may have enjoyed this fic as it currently stands!!!
im sorry that this isn't the sort of addition to this fic that anyone may be looking for, but id like to update people on what's happening with this work going forward.
for now, this will remain online so that people can see this update and await for the next. but: i will, one day, be deleting this fic entirely because i am going to be rewriting it. in it's entirety!!
with the release of season 5 and the fact my writing style has developed and changed since i first began this fic, i felt as though it would do it a disservice to leave it as it is, when i know i can write something better for you all!! id much rather have work here that im truly proud of, and sadly this fic is not that.
now, the major plot points i had planned for this fic will still be occurring, which (SPOILERS AHEAD) i know are no longer canon, though i never expected they would be. lots of the headcanons used here will still be used in my next iteration of this fic, but i will also be adopting a few bits and pieces from the canon from this season. luckily, with the speed that i tend to write, everyone should have seen it by then anyways!! and to those who do or may have already, i hope you don't mind if i keep some things from beforehand the same. im quite attached to the versions of havers and the captain that i built in my head these last couple of years.
(SPOILERS ENDED) the story of this version of havers and the captain is not over, it'll just be taking a nice break to get all spruced up and ready to make its new debut. the version that follows may seem quite different, it may not, im not sure what it'll look like in the end, but the main thing is that the major plans i had for it will remain the same. it'll be the same artistic, nature obsessed captain and his doting love, the same brother, mother, and father, the same major points in his life. it'll just look quite different, and some bits may end up missing and some bits may end up longer. the bones of this story will remain the same, though. it just very much needs an new coat of paint, so to speak. a redecoration, a renovation.
