Work Text:
"Please, Reo, please! I can't lose again. You have to have mercy on me!"
The student tumbles forward, his body now half laying on the table they've set their game up on. The barrier separating the two of them is gone, allowing Reo to see the face of pleading desperation staring at her. He's looking up at her with tear-filled eyes, hands clasped together, dice still scattered across the table. Reo crosses her left leg over her right knee, staring as the boy clasps his hands together.
"Please, you don't understand, I'm already in debt and this was my only chance. One more, one more game— no! One more round, just one more, please Reo!"
Suddenly, the boy's hair is grabbed, a fistful of black hair pulling at the skin of his forehead. He's pulled up off the table, hands scrambling against the surface, further pushing the dice around. Reo's eyes flicker up to see the person responsible for the new scene.
"Reo said you lost," a mundane voice says. "Stop whining and begging like a child."
A smirk pulls one corner of Reo's lips up as she slides off the chair. Her small heels click against the tile floor of the classroom. Carefully manicured nails drag across the hard surface of the large table they used to play. Purple nails tap gracefully as she leans against it, her eyes moving down to the now whimpering student being held up.
"Looks like you're out of luck," she says, her smile widening as she sees tears fall down the boy's face, his lips quivering madly. "Nagi," Reo hums, holding her hand out. The boy is dropped down, his hands barely able to catch himself, palms slamming down against the table. "Tag, please."
The loud clanking of the tag fills the now silent room. Other students watch, their bodies pressed against the outer perimeter of the classroom. Even students that weren't in their class have come to watch. It's not everyday that other students come to challenge Reo Mikage to a house bet. Within a matter of minutes, the room had filled to the brim, only a small empty circle surrounding the game table remained.
At first, Reo had been reluctant to accept the bet. She's not opposed to playing with students further down the rankings, but the one that had come was right above the bottom layer. He had burst in, making everyone stare at him as he strode over to Reo with wavering confidence. Reo did decline originally, spurring a collection of whispers from the other students around her. However, the boy was persistent and the more words that came from his mouth, the more confidence that he gained until he straight out admitted that he could beat Reo at her own game.
Now though, the very same student is crying, eyes pink around the rim and snot starting to leak from his nose. Reo sighs, her hand gently placing the tag down on the table, right against the tips of his fingers. "Maybe next time think about challenging someone lower than you" she tries to say empathetically.
The sound of cries echoes in the room. Reo narrows her eyes at the student, his body fulling collapsing onto the table. He jerks his arm out to the side, shoving the tag right off, the metal item bouncing against the floor.
"We're done here. Reo Mikage is the winner. One-hundred million will be transferred immediately."
Rin's voice spurs on whispers from the students still lingering in the room. She pushes off the desk she was resting against, her arms uncrossing from her chest as she reaches down to pick up the tag off the floor. Long green hair flows over her shoulder, the perfectly straight glossy hair catching the light from above. The tag is picked up and Rin shows no empathy. She grabs the boy by the hair, much like Nagi did. A cry of both pain and defeat comes from him. Rin is emotionless to the outburst, her teal eyes narrowed as they typically are. The tag is placed over the student's head, letting the chain fall heavy around his body. Then, he's let go just as roughly, Rin shoving him forward, returning him to his previous position.
"Don't take on such lukewarm bets again, Reo," Rin says as she walks toward her and Nagi. "This was a waste of my time."
Reo scoffs. "You think it wasn't a waste of mine?"
The only thing Rin gives in response is a glance before she walks out of the classroom. Reo's eyes follow her until she disappears from her view. She lets out a sigh, fingers pinching at the bridge of her nose. Rin is right, it was a waste of her time. The game lasted a pathetically short amount of time. She was able to win within fifteen minutes, practically as long as it took to wait for Rin to arrive.
Limit Dice is a simple game. Two people are seated on opposite sides of a table with a partition between them, blocking their view from the other player. The goal is to roll dice one at a time to collect the largest amount of points. However, a player's score turns to zero once they roll a six. A player can even yell stop to end the round if they think they're getting close to rolling a six. Once one person says the command, the round ends, no matter who calls it. On the surface, the game is easy to play and one without much thinking involved. It's one of the reasons Reo had chosen the game to be her signature one.
But underneath the rather adolescent set of rules, there's layers of mind games that Reo has built up. An easy game that draws people in, positive that they have a good chance of winning, only to be left with absolutely nothing. It's the exact game that's led her to be one of the top students in the school. And how she won her spot in the Student Council as well. Reo Mikage may have one of the simplest games of all the upper ranks, but she uses that same fact to her advantage.
"Come on, Nagi," Reo says, her gaze shifting to the girl in front of her. "Let's go get those pastries I promised you."
The classroom is quiet aside from the gentle taps of short heels as both Nagi and Reo leave the classroom. Outside, the hallway is nearly empty as well, save for a few students scattered throughout the chairs positioned against the walls. Fingers reach up to tug the hair tie out of her hair, letting her ponytail fall down, purple hair sprawling out along her back. She runs her hand through her hair, the soft locks threading between her fingers like silk.
They had missed lunch, the two of them were out of their chairs and ready to head down the street when the boy had barged in. It's Tuesday, meaning their favorite bakery puts out the fresh melon bread that Nagi likes. Ever since they came to the school, it had become a tradition to have lunch there every week. Thankfully since the game didn't take too long, there still should be a few left for them to grab.
As they pass the large entrance to the school, Reo hears the whirring of the board hung high against the wall. She watches the number next to her shift, the extra hundred million barely changing the amount at all. Reo bites at the inside of her cheek, her arms crossing over her chest as she watches the animation showing the losing student drop down under the very bottom line. A place where only the most indebted students go. Once they fall into the last one hundred students, they're deemed as Housepets. A title only given to those that are unable to contribute to the donation economy.
The less money one has, the less they can offer to the Student Council. And at Blue Lock, money is everything. Money is the oxygen of the private academy. It's how one enters and how one survives. Without it, that oversized collar is forced upon the student, proudly displaying their lack of worth. It's a place that no one wants to be. A place that makes the lower ranks desperate to climb up. And most of the time, that means challenging higher ranked students or even members of the Student Council.
"Good job, Reo," Nagi says, her finger twirling in the longer strand of her bangs that lays across her nose. "Though, a hundred million isn't really much. I guess that game was pretty pointless."
Reo turns toward Nagi, a bright smile on her face as she hooks her arm around Nagi's. "Not true. With the extra money I can buy us something nice. Oh! How about a new pair of shoes? Or maybe we can spend the weekend at the hot springs!"
"I guess," Nagi says softly. "But we could do that even without the money."
"I know, silly," Reo smiles, her arm tightening around Nagi's as she pulls her toward the door. "Let's talk about it during lunch."
In the reflection of the large glass doors, Reo can see the rankings board. She sees her name with Nagi's directly under it. The two of them are number six and seven with figures in the high billions for both of them. A spot that Reo proudly smiles at as she leads Nagi through the open courtyard at the front of the school.
Enrolling in Blue Lock had always been Reo's path. There was no other option for her, even before she came of age. The moment she heard about what the school had to offer, she knew it was exactly where she needed to be. A high stakes gambling environment that favored money over everything, even basic human rights. The school was a dream on paper, presenting itself as a prestigious private academy with billions, perhaps even trillions, of funding going into it. There was a hefty fee just to simply have a chance at being accepted. Of course for Reo, that was no problem at all.
Her family was rich, the filthy kind of rich. The rich that makes other people both gag and turn green with jealousy. The Mikage Corporation had their fingers in nearly everything from electronics to home goods to even aeronautical engineering. It would be hard to find at least one person that didn't know about the Mikage family name. Her name was a conversation around the school when she first arrived. Some students ran to her with star-struck eyes as though she was a true celebrity. Others talked behind her back, sharp words of disdain piercing Reo's ears as she walked by.
There was one person though, that looked at Reo without any emotion in her eyes. She seemed unaware of who Reo was, or at least Reo herself, not just her family name. The student was a girl with messy white hair that landed right at the middle of her back, maybe an inch or two shorter than Reo's own. She had been asleep on her desk, blue colored blazer contrasting dramatically with her nearly pure white locks.
It was the first day of the new semester and everyone was buzzing to begin what they all had come to Blue Lock for. As Reo made her way into the classroom, a group of students were giggling to each other, all three of them staring at the sleeping girl. Reo watched with interest, curious as to what they were discussing. Within a minute, the topic of conversation was revealed when one of the girls approached the sleeping one, challenging her to a game.
Sleep was heavy in her eyes as she leaned up to look at the grinning student. Reo didn't expect her to agree but after a painfully long moment of silence, she did. The extra tables and chairs were pushed against the walls of the classroom, everyone standing around to watch the game in progress. The eager student had chosen a well-known gambling game—Blackjack. A large handful of chips were slid across the table, representing a starting bid of ten million.
On the opposite side, it took a moment for the white haired student to gather her own chips but when she did, she slid triple the amount forward. There was laughter, all obviously directed at the girl still rubbing sleep out of her eyes. Reo watched carefully, her teeth sinking down on her long acrylic nail in anticipation. Years of hearing about the school was nothing compared to actually being inside of it and she was more than excited to watch her first game unfold.
After the first round, thirty million was pushed over to her side, the sleepy girl sighing as she slumped in her chair, mumbling how tired she was. Laughter filled the room along with taunts from the other player. She was obviously confident having won not only the first round but now tripling the amount of money she was going to walk away with. She was so confident in fact that she shoved all forty million in the middle, ready to bet it all when she saw another thirty million stack up on the other side. All together if she won, she would easily have upwards of a hundred million if the chips continued to stack up.
Best three out of five is what they decided since they both were new to the school. From what Reo understood, lower ranked students didn't need official referees and could gamble freely within their limits. Since neither student was part of the Student Council, they could decide the general rules such as how many rounds to play. On the third round, the blond haired girl who initiated the game had towers of chips next to her. Reo had kept up with the amount and it was equal to a hundred million now. If she won the next one, she would take the new set of thirty million from the white haired girl and certainly make a name for herself.
With all her newly earned chips in the middle, she played casually, obviously not worried about losing at that point. But Reo could tell there was a shift. She could see the way the white haired girl was sitting up more, her eyes darker and hooded as she looked at her cards. She was close to twenty-one, terribly close in fact, sitting at twenty. It would only make sense to call it, not risking to pull anything else because she would certainly go over. If she got anything other than an ace, it would be the end.
Her fingers had hovered over the pile of cards, obviously weighing her chances before making a decision. But she took the card off the top, her eyes flickering up at the other girl that was sitting with the front legs of her chair off the ground, happily awaiting her victory. She had already decided to stay, resting at twenty as well. Reo saw the card before it landed on the table. The girl had done it, she had pulled an ace, landing her right where she needed to be.
The next two rounds went the same way, each game ending with a perfect twenty-one. So perfect in fact that the other girl screamed, her hands slammed down on the table in frustration, spewing accusations that the other had cheated. Her friends backed her up, one of them rushing out of the room to go and find a Student Council member to come investigate. Reo had quickly moved forward, stepping out from the shadows of the other students to defend her. Reo had seen it all, there was no way she cheated.
The Student Council member agreed as well, her ruling in favor of the white haired girl, her hand extending out to her before walking out of the room. Reo had cheered, her arms wrapping around the girl happily.
"That was awesome! You're a natural," she had said, the other girl whining softly as Reo squeezed her in a tight hug. "What's your name?"
"Nagi," the girl replied, her fingers back to rubbing at her eyes. "What's yours?"
Reo was taken aback at the question. She leaned her head back in a laugh, her hand ruffling up the already messy white hair under her. "Reo! Hey, let's get to the top together," she said, making Nagi's eyes widen. "Me and you!"
The top meant Student Council. Not just making it in the elite group but taking the top spots of president and vice-president together. She knew she was being too bold, the two of them had only just entered the school. But Reo had a feeling, deep in her chest, that the two of them would be able to climb their way up.
That's exactly what they've been doing ever since. One year later and Reo has a seat on the student council with Nagi just under her. All Nagi had to do was challenge one of the existing members and bet on their place. If she won, she would gain that spot and join Reo. It was a dream that had slowly become Nagi's too as time went on. Getting into Student Council meant that there were far fewer games to play. Only those that were brave, that were truly desperate enough, would challenge the very top ranks. The honor was typically reserved to Housepets, one that had no other choice but to earn their freedom back.
Being up so high meant that Nagi could laze around more, only to be dragged around by Reo half the time. Though, Reo is certain that Nagi didn't mind it as much as she expressed. A small little bribe here and there would get her to come along without further complaint. Nagi was her treasure and Reo wanted to keep her close. She wanted her with her at all times, the two of them nearly glued at the hip. They were a team. They were partners. And they were going to make their way to the very top together.
Nagi technically isn't allowed in the Student Council office. She's not a member yet and while Reo is, the only time a non-member is allowed inside is if they have an official match offer and have been escorted in by another person. Nagi has no official match to ask for but technically she was led in by Reo. They were only half breaking the rules. Well, there was also the fact that Reo is currently seated on the couch in her own small room, legs spread and on top of Nagi as their lips meet in slow kisses. That certainly breaks another rule.
Maybe they were a bit more than what they displayed on the outside. Though, rumors always spread fast like wildfire regardless of the topic in Blue Lock. At first, the thoughts were that Nagi was using Reo for her money. That was quickly dismissed though when it was revealed on the first rankings that Nagi was already up toward the top, her name landing in the mid-thirties and showing a hefty sum of money. That amount of money didn't include the new earnings that were added up on the screen shortly after. Nagi wasn't anywhere near as rich as Reo but she had plenty of her own money.
The next rumor happened when the two of them played as a pair against another set of students. Once again, complaints of them cheating circulated only for them to be dismissed firmly by the Student Council. The two of them just knew how to work together. Nagi and Reo barely needed to talk to each other after a few games, fully understanding what the other was doing without words. They're nearly unstoppable with how in sync they are.
But the rumor they hear the least is the one that led them to Reo's small office. It's been said once or twice, a few of the other students teasing Reo about it only for her to neither deny nor confirm the words. Everyone already knew that Nagi was hers, they didn't need to know the finer details. Only her closest friends knew that the two of them were together. That they were dating.
"You were so good today, treasure," Reo mewls as Nagi mouths at the top of her chest, wet lips sucking shallow hickies right at the hem of her bra. "That game was exhilarating to watch."
Fingers thread through Nagi's hair, Reo practically petting her as she continues to kiss against her chest. Reo's blazer is gone, tossed over the armchair of the couch. She was the one to pop the buttons of her white shirt open, exposing her black lace bra underneath. Reo had promised Nagi a reward if she played the student that scrambled up to them as they sat together in the main hall. Nagi didn't want to, mumbling about how she wanted to go and take a nap instead. But Reo urged her when she looked up where the student fell on the rankings. She wasn't the lowest but she on the bottom end. It would be an easy win and while the money wouldn't truly make any difference, Nagi needed all the practice she could get, even if that meant playing lower ranks.
Unsurprisingly, Nagi had won easily. The girl had left without saying a word, her friends consoling her as they disappeared into the crowd that had gathered. And like Reo promised, she led Nagi upstairs, using her key to unlock the door and pull her onto the leather couch. It was incredibly risky to be doing what they're doing. Nagi alone could get Reo in trouble. She could easily win her way right back in if that's what it came down to. But Reo knew that the rest of the council religiously went out between the hours of two and three. That meant they had under an hour to do what they wanted before they had to leave.
It's another risk that makes Reo's heart beat as Nagi tugs the fabric of Reo's bra down enough to capture her nipple. Reo leans her head back, her hips rolling down against Nagi's as she's greeted with buzzes of pleasure. One of Nagi's hands is on the curve of her lower back, holding Reo's body steady on her while the other cups and squeezes at her other tit, working both of them together. When Nagi nips at her nipple, Reo lets out a breathy moan, her thighs squeezing with pleasure around Nagi's lap.
"Is this a new bra?" Nagi asks, her lips ghosting over Reo's nipple.
Reo nods her head, one hand tucking a strand of her long purple hair behind her ear. "Do you like it? I bought it with that hundred million I won the other day."
Nagi's tongue licks along Reo's nipple, her eyes looking up at Reo as she does so. "Looks really pretty on you, Reo."
Another layer of flush warms Reo's face at the compliment. Nagi's eyes hold a glint as she leans down to take her nipple in her mouth once more. Reo moans, her back arching into Nagi's touch, wanting more of the warm wetness that she's providing. They haven't been like this often, in fact, they've only just started becoming intimate. Everything is fresh and exciting, especially when they snuck away somewhere they're not supposed to be. There's a completely different thrill that she experiences when she's with Nagi like this.
Both of them have never been with anyone before, Reo shyly having admitted it one night when things started to get more heated than usual. Nagi had simply shrugged and admitted the same. Yet, in the short months that they've changed their relationship, Nagi has expertly figured out how to make Reo feel the best. Even the small touches have her skin feeling as though it's on fire with pleasure. Nagi is so good that Reo had to ask to make sure she didn't lie to her about never being with anyone before. Nagi repeated the same thing, stating that she just knows Reo, completing the sentence with a kiss. And each time they find themselves intertwined together, Nagi gets better and better.
Nagi's hand travels from her back, sliding down the fabric of her skirt along her thigh until it slips under. Bare fingernails drag lightly along the sensitive skin right at the hem of her underwear. Reo spreads her legs, her head leaning forward to hang over Nagi's shoulder as her fingers get closer and closer. Reo can see the marks she's already left on Nagi's chest, her own shirt unbuttoned enough to color the skin on the very top of her tits. A wave of pride fills her at the sight. Her eyes flutter shut as her fingers brush against the fabric of her panties when a noise makes both of them straighten up.
"Reo?"
Panic starts to set in and Reo nearly jumps off of Nagi's lap. Her hands quickly try and fix her bra and her shirt as she lets out a tiny noise, meaning for it to come out as words. The door opens before Reo can fix herself properly and she wraps her arms around her chest when she sees two figures walking in. Her hair is messy, purple strands sticking out in different directions from her bangs. Her skirt is askew, one half higher on her hips than the other. And her button up shirt is untucked with the top three buttons still open with only her arms covering her exposed bra.
It's not just Rin that is staring at her. Another figure is next to her, a shorter girl that has a heavy white tag hanging from her chest. A breath is sucked in through Rin's teeth as Reo parts her lips, ready to try and make up some excuse as to why her uniform is messy and Nagi is sitting on the couch to her right.
A heavy push makes the Housepet nearly tumble forward. Her dark blue hair has two tiny little pieces sticking up from the back that wobble as she finds her footing. "You're in luck, Isagi. Looks like Reo is ready for a game."
Reo's chest contracts in deep yet quick breaths. She stares at the girl in front of her, the smaller one with her head tilted down, eyes averting Reo's. Hands are clasped in front of her waist, the tag hanging on her chest hidden beneath her hands. It's obvious that the girl has come to ask for an official match. Reo swallows, her hands trying to discreetly fix her shirt as she feels Rin's heavy gaze on her.
"Rin," Isagi says softly, her head turning to look at the girl behind her instead. "I was really hoping to challenge you instead."
Rin's teal eyes narrow. Challenging the Vice-President isn't completely unheard of. Yet, it was generally considered a death wish. The name wasn't just a hyperbole either, Rin herself turned it in to such a concept. The very rare times that Rin has accepted a game, she's always bet her life. Her actual life. Her game of choice wasn't as drastic as the actual President's, it was highly frowned upon to even think about asking Rin. But here Isagi was with a Housepet chain around her neck, trying to do that very thing.
"Rin—"
"Both of you come to the football club room in ten minutes." Rin's gaze shifts back and forth between Nagi and Reo. "Bring your pet along too."
Nagi shifts on the couch, a soft huff coming from her as she pushes herself up. "I'm not Reo's pet."
A mocking laugh comes from Rin before she grabs Isagi by the collar and starts to drag her out of the room. Reo's shoulders relax, not realizing that she had tensed up so much. Her fingers finally fix her shirt, the buttons aligned and her bow tightened back along her collar. Nagi walks over to her, one hand on her hip as she purses her lips out.
"Are you going to play?"
Reo's fingers curl around the short hem of her skirt. "I don't have a choice."
For the most part, Reo had free will of who she played and didn't. She had every right to deny anyone that came up to her. This, however, was different. If Isagi had been the one to approach her, Reo could have said no. But since Rin was the one to confirm the Official Match, Reo doesn't have a choice. As the Vice-President, Rin holds more power over Reo. Only the President and Vice President can dictate games in that way. Even if Reo tried to decline, she would be forced regardless of her words.
"Don't worry, Reo," Nagi says cutely, "I know you'll win."
With Nagi's reassuring words, Reo smiles. The hair tie on her wrist gets tugged off and held between her lips as she gathers her long purple hair. "That's right. I'll make this quick." A playful wink comes as she fixes her ponytail. "Then we can get back to what we were doing."
A chaste kiss is pressed against the corner of Nagi's lips. The other nods her head, her eyes following Reo as she gathers the rest of her things.
The football club meets in a rather standard room in the academy. Instead of walls of bookshelves though, there's a large collection of TVs that cover an entire section of the room. A dozen or so screens are placed flush together to create one large screen. The TVs have been turned on when Reo enters the room, the Blue Lock emblem stationary in the center of the displays. Large whiteboards with thick black marker are scattered throughout, each one displaying a different depiction of lines and symbols. And on the opposite end, there are a large collection of chairs, creating a mini auditorium with how they're set up.
All the seats are already filled when Reo makes her way through the room. To her left, there are shadowy figures in each one of the plush seats, the only thing illuminating them being the soft glow of the TVs on the opposite side. Reo's heels click with each step she takes up to the raised platform. A table has already been set up, the red velvet surface bright under the lights above. Across the table, Isagi is sitting, her brows furrowed as she stares down at the table in front of her. With one hand holding her purse and her other clasping a small square briefcase, Reo joins.
Reo sits down gracefully, her purple hair already tied up and ready. It's one of her signature aesthetics when playing. As she settles in her chair, she sets her purse on her lap, hand digging through it to grab the other important part. A golden bracelet is placed on her wrist. The piece of jewelry is her lucky charm. The bracelet is simple, the majority of it being a thin golden chain. In the middle though, there are two small rings that interlock. The bracelet was something that her and Nagi picked out together, a celebration of their partnership when they first met. Now, it served as Reo's reminder that not only luck is on her side but Nagi as well.
When Reo's purse gets set on the ground, the item leaning against her chair leg, another set of footsteps join the raised platform. Rin stands tall at the center of the table, evenly between Reo and Isagi. Rin's hand extends to Reo. She doesn't need an explanation, she's done Official Matches a handful of times already. Without a word, the small briefcase is set on the table. Rin grabs it, pulling it toward her and there's quiet clicks as she opens it. The room is nearly dead silent as Rin checks the items inside before sliding it back to Reo.
"The Official Match between Housepet Isagi Yoichi and Treasurer Mikage Reo will begin." There's a momentary pause, one that makes Reo shift in her seat, ready to ask Isagi what she wants to bet for the game. Before she can though, Rin continues. "The bet will be Seishiro Nagi."
Reo's eyes immediately go wide. The chair screeches against the floor as Reo shoots up from her chair. "Absolutely not! What kind of bet is that?"
"W-Wait," Isagi says, obviously just as shocked. "I thought I was playing for the Treasurer spot?!"
Rin doesn't react to the outbursts. Instead, she crosses her arms along her chest. "Since Reo decided to break the Student Council Rules, I'm deciding the bet." The words are cold as they come from her. Reo bites down on her bottom lip so roughly she can taste the tang of blood within seconds. "If Isagi wins, Nagi will become her pet."
"What?!"
Reo's voice is loud in the quiet room. Her heart is beating fast and the palms of her hands have begun to clam up. Purple eyes desperately look through the crowd for Nagi. When her eyes lock onto her, the other is seated in the front row, her own eyes narrowed with darkness. She knows Nagi has no say in this. Reo doesn't even have a say in it. But having Nagi's freedom on the line makes every part of Reo throb with anger.
"Nagi has nothing to do with this!" Reo protests, stomping her heeled foot against the floor. "I'm the one playing Isagi."
"Now, now, Reo, don't make such a fuss in front of everyone."
Another voice tickles the back of her neck. She freezes in her spot when she recognizes who is standing behind her. Blond hair comes into view as the other walks to stand next to Rin. If Rin's presence was threatening, the new figure joining them is down right deadly. In the year and a half that Reo has attended Blue Lock, she's only once seen the Student Council President. She hardly ever makes herself known, even to those in the Student Council themselves. Now though, she's standing next to Rin, a devilish grin on her lips.
"Are you afraid of losing your darling Nagi?" The question comes with an even more terrifying smile. Kaiser's red eyeliner is sharp along her blue eyes. The very corners of it mimic daggers as she waits for Reo to answer.
"O-Of course not," Reo stutters.
Her opponent isn't an upper rank. Not even close. The girl seated across from her is at the very bottom level of the Housepets, barely into the double digits. Isagi was a nobody in her eyes. It would be painfully easy to beat her. Reo has nothing to worry about. But still, even the mere idea of Nagi possibly being not only taken from her but becoming a Housepet made her body feel as though it's going to burst. Reo doesn't want there to be any chance of Nagi becoming anything as vile as a Housepet.
"Nagi," Kaiser snaps, the sound loud in Reo's ear. "Come."
Another wave of anger washes over Reo. "Don't talk to her like that," she seethes, her body turned toward Kaiser, nails pressing into the velvet cover of the table.
"Reo, It's okay." Nagi's voice is incredibly calm, contrasting with Reo's as she joins them. "Don't be worried, I know you'll win."
That's right, Reo takes a deep breath, trying to calm herself. Reo didn't make her way into the Student Council by pure luck alone. Of course, that was part of it but she earned her spot by her own wit. Reo is smart, incredibly so. She's grown up in the large world of high profile adults, spending her younger days sitting in on meetings her father held, begging to come and learn. Another deep breath helps, her eyes fluttering closed before they open at the change of light from the large wall of TVs next to her.
The Blue Lock emblem shifts to show the current game.
Isagi Yoichi vs. Mikage Reo.
Below, each of their current worth is displayed. Reo's number whirs to an astonishing twenty billion while Isagi's stops just under five million. Directly between them, Nagi's name pops up. There's no monetary value that comes under it. There's no this or that. No, it's Nagi's name clear as day labeled under 'Bet.' Reo's purple eyes narrow with determination. No one is going to take her treasure.
Game: Limit Dice
Student Council Referee: Itoshi Rin & Kaiser Michael
With the TVs changed next to them, Reo sits down in her chair, tugging the furniture back to its original position. She crosses her right leg over her left knee and reaches for the small square suitcase on the table. This was her game. She looks over at Nagi, the other girl seated in a chair between Rin and Kaiser. Reo flashes her a smile before her manicured hands dip into the suitcase and begin pulling out the pieces for her game.
"Have you ever played Limit Dice before?" She asks, two die in each hand as she sets them on the table. It's a question she already knows the answer to. Games played by the Student Council aren't allowed to be played by anyone else, ensure that each of their matches is unique to them.
"No, I've heard of it though," Isagi admits, her eyes watching as Reo pulls out the partition, unfolding it until it snaps in place. "It's like blackjack, yeah?"
Reo smiles, "In a way. We both take turns rolling one die at a time. Every number under six equals one point." She extends one finger, her short but still sharp nail catching the glimmer of the light. "Though, if you roll a six," she says as she tosses a die in the middle of the table. It wobbles for a second before landing on the said number. "The score turns to zero for the rest of the round. But you can call stop to end the round at any point."
Isagi's nods her head, her dark blue hair tucked back along the sides. "So, try to get the most points before rolling a zero."
"Exactly," Reo confirms with a wink. "And once someone says stop, the round will end for both of us. Of course, you want to have the most points at the end of the round. I play best three out of five." Reo's hands guide the fabric partition to the side of the table. "Oh and we can't see each other's dice so we'll have no idea how many points the other has." The partition slides between them, leaving only Isagi's shadow in front of her. "Good luck!"
The room is dead silent when Reo gathers her dice. There's a total of twenty dice for each player. Reo's are stacked up off to the side, a line of them waiting for her to pick and choose from. The very first one she chooses clunks against the table, bouncing along the slightly curved corners. It goes once, then twice, then a third time before finally landing on a four. Reo smiles, shifting the die off to the side.
The next die she chooses tumbles the same way. This one stops on a one. Then the next a five, then a two, then another four. Reo strategically chooses one from each small tower she's made on the side. Each tower consisting of four dice. With each one that gets picked up by her thumb and pointer finger, Reo rolls with more and more confidence.
On the seventh die, Isagi speaks. "Stop," she says, her voice keep the die in Reo's hand from rolling.
"Ah," Reo gasps with faux excitement. She sets the die back in place as she reaches forward to slide the partition to the side. "Let's see how many points we have."
When the partition turns to expose Isagi's side of the table, there's a total of five dice. Reo purses her lips at the sight. Isagi shifts in her seat, her brows furrowing together. "You have seven?"
"And you have five," Reo says with a click of her tongue. "That means I win this round."
The heavy chain around Isagi's neck bumps against the hard surface of the table. Her hands gather her dice once more, not even saying anything further. There's a tinge of empathy from Reo as she sees how serious Isagi looks. Being a Housepet isn't fun. It's a horrible experience that Reo has unfortunately gotten to witness more than once. This is surely one of Isagi's both greatest and worst chances to climb her way out from the bottom numbers. Calling for an Official Match is bold but if won, it is by far the easiest way to gain freedom back.
Thunks of dice hitting the table fill the otherwise quiet room. Even the students filling the plush seats off to the left haven't said a single word. It's most likely due to Kaiser being present. If Reo is frightened of her, every other normal student is a hundred times more afraid. And for some, it's probably their very first glimpse at the Student Council President. Not to mention, there isn't money on the line but a human. Reo is sure there are plenty of people that would love to witness Nagi's downfall.
Reo's finger glides over the top of a die. She lets it linger under her hold, eyes glancing as the very bottom of her acrylic nail. One second passes until she tosses the die. A two. Then the next die is a five. With the room as quiet as it is, she can hear when Isagi stops tossing the dice on the table. There's a long pause but no mention to stop comes. Reo takes a die from the furthest stack and tosses it in the middle of the table. The corner of the white square is what makes contact first, then it tumbles down, landing on a six.
"Stop!" Reo says.
As the partition moves, Reo sees exactly what she wants to see. In the middle of the table is a die, the six dark indents staring right at her. A pout pushes at her lips.
"Looks like we both got sixes this round," she says, her finger pressing against Isagi's die. "This one's a tie."
Reo can see the way Isagi watches her retract her hand. The same hand is followed as Reo returns the partition to the middle, once again shielding them from each other. It would be easy for Reo to do the same tactic every time. A win for herself, then either a tie or a loss on her part. It's a way that she further lures her opponent in, making them believe that they're on the same level. That would be far too predictable though. Not that it would necessarily matter because regardless of the first few rounds, she'll win.
One drop of a die. Two drops of a die. Three, four, five, six, seven. Reo continues to throw die after die down on the table. Each one that grazes her fingertip gives her the answer that she needs. When her finger presses down on the next die, she hesitates, lingering on the hard object for a moment longer than usual before she shifts to the next stack. That one is thrown without worry, two dark dimples stopping at the top.
"Stop," Reo says once more, leaving five dice to her right.
To be honest, Reo doesn't know what to expect when the partition moves. Her eyes widen ever so slightly when she sees the almost equally large amount of dice off to the left. And when she counts, Isagi has one more than her.
"I won this one, Reo," Isagi says, a clear thread of confidence now joining her words. "I have one more than you."
Reo huffs, her hands pushing the partition back to separate them again. "Don't get too cocky, Isagi. Remember who you're playing against."
The score is tied now with each of them having one point. Reo plays best three out of five but with a tie, the number of games goes up. Now instead of five rounds, they'll have seven, evening out the chances. Reo shuffles her dice, stacking them up randomly before shifting them back to the allotted spot on the right. Out of the corner of her eye, she can see Nagi's bright white hair. One small glance has their gazes meeting and Reo can't help but let a smile pull the corners of her lips up.
Isagi is the one to yell stop next. It's revealed that she rolled a six, completely depleting her collection of dice off to her left. Reo chuckles, gathering the ten dice that push her to win the round. All she needed is one more win. One more win and she doesn't have to worry about losing Nagi. One more win and she could gather her things and grab her girlfriend and—
"Tell me, Reo," Isagi says, speaking during the round for the first time. "Where do you get your nails done?"
Reo's finger pauses on top of her next die. Her tongue darts out to lick at her lips. "I have a private salon," she admits, tossing the die down onto the table. "Do you like the color? It matches my hair perfectly." Reo emphasizes her words by letting her fingers dangle over the partition, showing off her delicate purple painted nails. At the very tip, there's tiny gems that look like stars.
Isagi is quiet, allowing Reo to hear another drop of a die before she continues. "Does the color always change like that?"
Reo's hand completely stops in the middle of the table, just as she goes to move the die to the left. "What are you talking about?"
Reo can barely hear the next die hit as Isagi speaks again. "Stop," she says.
This time, Isagi pulls the partition to the side, revealing that while they were talking, she was able to gain one more point, giving her the win for the match. "The bottom of your nail," she says, her head nodding to Reo's hand, "it changes color when you touch a die."
A scoff pushes past Reo's lips. "I think you're going delirious, little pet." Reo grabs the partition from Isagi's grasp, moving to put it back to continue the game.
Isagi's hand stops her, holding the upright fabric rectangle tightly. "You're cheating, Reo."
A rush of whispers fills the room. Reo taps her foot against the leg of the table. "Are you getting scared you're going to lose?"
Isagi has the nerve to smirk at her. "No," she says, her voice now oozing with sickly confidence.
The partition is tugged back into place by Isagi herself. Reo tears her hand away, her nose scrunched in frustration as she gathers her dice. "Maybe you should get your eyes checked, Isagi," Reo says, throwing two dice down at once. "That might help you win more games."
"Maybe you shouldn't cheat," Isagi spits back.
"You have absolutely no proof," Reo retorts, tossing now three dice down in front of her. "Have you ever heard of lighting?"
Reo wastes no time tossing die after die down onto the table. One, two, three, four, five, she keeps going until there's three dice left. She reaches behind her, her fingers tugging out the hair tie, letting her long purple hair fall gracefully along her back. She barely says 'stop' before she grabs the partition and tugs it to the side, revealing Isagi's die still wobbling along on the velvet surface. Reo doesn't need to watch. It doesn't matter what it lands on, statistically Reo will always win.
When the die stops though, it lands on a six, making Reo's lips curve into a twisted smile. "What a shame," she says, her words stringing together in a whine. There are nearly as many die off to Isagi's left as Reo has, if she hadn't rolled a six, she maybe had a fighting chance. "You lost, Isagi."
The other stands up from her seat in protest. "That's not fair! She's cheating!"
In contrast, Reo leans back in her chair, her arms crossed over her chest as she taps her fingers along the blue fabric covering her arm. Kaiser is the one to make her way over to the table, Isagi continuing on as she does.
"I thought cheating wasn't allowed! How is this fair!? It didn't matter what I did, she's rigged the dice!"
More chatter begins to fill the room as Isagi's outburst continues. Kaiser leans forward, grabbing the metal chain around Isagi's neck. She grips it tight, closing the open gap right below her throat, tugging her forward until she almost tumbles.
"It seems like you're the one that doesn't know the rules, Yoichi," Kaiser says as she stares down at Isagi.
"The game is finished. Reo Mikage wins. Isagi will keep her title as Housepet."
Rin's voice makes Reo blow at a piece of hair that's fallen out of place. Isagi continues to yell, trying to explain to Kaiser how she believes Reo cheated. While the commotion happens, Reo quietly tidies up her game, placing each piece exactly where it belongs in the square briefcase. Soft yet distinct clicks of the lock are what make Reo stand up.
Heels click against the floor as she walks over to Nagi. The other girl is standing, the large wall of TVs behind her confirming Reo's win against Isagi. Her hand flicks the large strand of purple hair that rest in front of her shoulder to the back, letting it flip dramatically. Isagi is still trying to reason with both Kaiser and Rin as Reo reaches her hand out to grab Nagi's wrist.
The hand tugs Nagi closer while another cups at her cheek. Nagi's leans down as Reo tilts up, their lips meeting in a kiss. Reo knows that the other students are still in the room. She can hear the increased volume of them as Reo kisses Nagi once more. Her fingers thread through the strands of Nagi's hair, tucking them behind her ear as Reo tilts her head, wanting to deepen their kiss. Such public display of affection isn't exactly Reo's thing, but there's not a single hesitation as she runs her tongue across Nagi's bottom lip.
Nagi is hers. There was no question in her mind that she was going to lose the game against Isagi. Still, the mere option to have her Nagi up for grabs makes her want to prove to everyone just who Nagi is to her. Nagi is her best friend, her partner for gambling, and most importantly— her girlfriend. Reo isn't going to let anyone take her away from her and she'll do whatever it takes to make sure it stays that way.
Their lips part as Nagi chases another kiss. Reo presses her finger to Nagi's lips in response. Nagi's eyes cross slightly to look down at the manicured nail against her, following it when it's pulled away. A few steps is all it takes for Reo to grab her belongings from the table and motion for Nagi to follow her. Reo's eyes look back when she reaches the bottom of the shallow stairs. Isagi is standing defeated, her head down as she looks at the empty game table.
The air is knocked out of Reo when she's pushed against the wall. A loud clunk of her game case fills not only her ears but the quiet hallway surrounding them. Nagi's lips press kiss after kiss against her, further pushing her against the cold wall. Reo chuckles between meetings, her hands grabbing at Nagi's cheeks to hold her back. Nagi's lips are wet and kiss-swollen, the normally soft pink color a few shades darker. Her eyes are hooded, the golden-gray color staring as she looks down at Reo.
"I wasn't going to let anyone take you, treasure," Reo says reassuringly.
Nagi barely lets them get past the door to the football club room. The two large doors are hardly more than a few feet away. A handful of students had flowed out of the room with them, all of them busy in their own conversations as Reo led Nagi with the intention of them going to Reo's home to celebrate. Yet, Nagi had other ideas, choosing to grab Reo by the waist and guide her to the wall.
"I know," Nagi says as she grips at Reo's hip, drawing out a small noise from her in response. "Reo always wins."
A pleased hum vibrates along her throat as Nagi leans her head down to press a kiss right under her ear. In the beginning, Reo truly did win fair and square. There were no tricks, no tiny modifications she made, and certainly no cheating. But the further she climbed, the more the lines blurred. Cheating isn't allowed for the students under the very top. Once she won her way into the Student Council however, that's when the rules shift dramatically. Student Council members are allowed to cheat. It's the other player's job to beat them at their own twisted game.
"My new dice work well, don't they?" Reo says, her breath hitching as Nagi licks along her neck. "I knew they'd come in handy soon."
The dice in question were made specifically for her. A recent acquisition of a popular toy company landed the Mikage Corporation with the perfect tool to help Reo. New dice that would react to her touch and when mixed with the color changing nail polish, Reo had the most subtle cheat that pushed her to win each and every time. To anyone else using the dice, there would be no difference. The dice themselves won't change and one would only realize if they either saw Reo's nail color change, catching the slightest tone shift, or if they also had the same nail polish. The odds are outstandingly in her favor, Reo knowing that with the partition up between them, she's free to let her fingers linger on her dice all she wants.
Nagi nips at the crook of her neck, not even pulling away as the sound of the heavy doors to their right open. Reo leans her head back against the wall, purple eyes barely open as she sees a few students walk out, all of them oblivious to what's going on to their left. She lets out a whimper when Nagi's hand slides along her waist, slipping between the small space where Reo's body is flush against the wall.
"Isagi is smart," Nagi mumbles against her skin. "I feel a little bad for her."
Reo clicks her tongue, her hand grabbing the back of Nagi's hair. A gentle pull is all it takes for Nagi to lean her head back. "Don't talk about Isagi while you're kissing me."
Nagi's tongue swipes across her lips. "Yes, Reo."
The hand in Nagi's hair loosens when Nagi tilts forward, capturing another kiss. "Good girl."
It's Nagi that makes a noise at the praise. The hand resting just above her ass moves down enough to squeeze, making Reo's back arch in response. Reo's own hand slides down to rest along Nagi's shoulder. The girl is more eager than usual. Kiss after kiss land on her lips, wetness covering all of Reo's mouth. It's always thrilling to be with Nagi like this but as the door opens once more, Reo feels a flutter in her stomach.
Making out in the Student Council office was one thing. They've done it a handful of times, always making sure to fix themselves up before leaving. Now though, they're in the middle of the hallway as students are leaving the gambling den. Reo can't say she necessarily cares that people will see them like this. She holds no shame in being with Nagi. But as Nagi's hand slips lower and lower, Reo feels her face becoming redder.
"Nagi," Reo whispers, "Don't you want to go somewhere more private?"
The hem of her skirt lifts up, Nagi's hand sliding along the curve of her hip. The monochrome plaid skirt is up high enough for Reo to feel the cool air brush against the line of her underwear.
"You said we could continue after you won," Nagi says simply. "Going somewhere else would be a hassle." Nails sink into the blue fabric of Nagi's blazer, Reo's hips twitching as Nagi's fingers slide between her legs. "I wanna do it now."
Reo breathes out a laugh, her legs spreading to allow Nagi further access between them. She bites at the corner of her lip, her purple hair frizzing up behind her as she leans more against the wall. "I didn't know you were into this," she comments as her eyes lock with another student leaving the room. "Anyone can see us like this."
Nagi is unfazed by Reo's words. In fact, it only spurs her touches on more. Two fingers press flat against her clit, making a train of whimpers rip through Reo's throat. "So?" Nagi's taller body takes another step forward, half covering the hand tucked under Reo's skirt. "This is your reward for winning, I think everyone should see it anyway."
Reo's eyes flutter closed as Nagi's fingers rub against her clit. Tiny but hard circles push the soft nub around. Reo's toes curl in her heels, her hand slipping from the hold on Nagi's shoulder. Nagi's other hand awkwardly reaches for Reo's chest. Fingers try and pop open the buttons on Reo's shirt but are unfortunately unsuccessful. Reo is the one to hastily undo the top two, giving Nagi the slightest peek at the lace bra she was complimenting only an hour or so ago.
"You're being so greedy today," Reo chuckles, "are you going to take off all my clothes out here?"
Nagi's fingers stutter at the question. The angle isn't even right, Nagi won't be able to lean down and capture Reo's tits in her mouth like she enjoys. There's a bench nearby but with how Nagi has her pinned to the wall, Reo is unsure she'd even take the few moments to stop and move. Instead of tugging her shirt open more, Nagi's fingers dip under the fabric of her underwear. Two fingers slide through the wetness that's collected along Reo's pussy. It makes her chest tremble in a stuttered whine of pleasure.
"If that's what Reo wants," Nagi comments, not wasting any time leaning in for another kiss. "You're so sexy, Reo."
Reo's hand grasps at Nagi's arm, her manicured hand pressing into the fabric right below her elbow. The hand is there not to stop her but to find purchase as her fingers run up and down her soaked folds. Purple eyes open as she hears the sound of shocked gasps off in the distance. It must be from another group of students coming from a different direction, one that Reo can't see with Nagi so close. Instead, she focuses on Nagi's eyes looking at her, open as she steals kiss after desperate kiss. Seeing anyone doing such a thing in the hallway would shock most people. Seeing Reo Mikage, a member of the Student Council engaging in intimate activities out in the clear open hallway, is a completely other sight.
A tongue licks along Reo's open mouth as another moan escapes. Nagi pushes one finger in, the digit barely past the first small bump before a second one joins. Reo's legs begin to tremble, her knees wanting to give out and allow her body to collapse to the floor. If she did that, then Nagi would be able to pleasure her even better. The thought is tempting. The two of them are already making a scene so what true difference would it make? Reo straightens out though, knowing that while there's technically no explicit rules about sexual conduct on school grounds, that might be a little too far.
"Nagi," Reo whines, her voice quiet between them. Their lips have parted to allow them to catch their breaths but their lips are still so close, the warmth of each breath tickling their lips. Reo's body tightens momentarily as Nagi's fingers brush against her spot. "Mm, right there, treasure."
Thankfully, Nagi is being a good listener. Her fingers still right where they should. Nagi shifts forward, hooking one of Reo's legs slightly on her thigh. It's not all the way up and Reo's body struggles to find balance with one foot off the ground. Her shoulder blades dig into the now warm surface behind her as Nagi's fingers thrust faster. Reo decides to reach down between them, making Nagi pause momentarily, unsure of what she's doing. It's not the best angle but Reo is able to tug her panties down some, letting them hover on the tops of her thighs, allowing Nagi to move her hand more.
The two fingers start moving faster, the pads of the tips pressing up wonderfully. Reo squeezes her eyes shut, her hand gripping Nagi's arm to keep steady. A thumb joins in on the movement, Nagi twisting her hand to allow pressure to be placed on her clit. The pleasure comes in waves of desperate sloppy movements. Nagi's fingers try to focus on her insides while her thumb makes jagged circles along her swollen clit. It doesn't matter to Reo how uncoordinated it is, in fact, that's what Reo likes.
Nagi is always like this. Her movements aren't the best, both of them completely new to pleasure of this kind. But despite their sloppiness, Nagi is always eager, always desperate, and wanting to make Reo feel good. Sloppy wet kisses are placed against her neck, Nagi's own heavy breaths melting into Reo's ear, joining the sound of her loud heartbeat that's thumping throughout her body. Normally, Reo has more control. She likes to drag things out longer, want to make sure both of them experience the same amount of pleasure. Now though, Reo has no choice but to allow Nagi to fully take control.
"Hah," Reo breathes out, her thighs trying to squeeze shut as warmth starts to build in her core. "Fuck, Nagi, you're gonna make me cum."
The comment spurs on Nagi's movements even more. "Wanna make you cum like this," Nagi mumbles.
Reo nods her head. She can feel sweat collecting along her forehead. Her purple bangs stick to the damp skin as she sinks her teeth into her bottom lip. Another moan rips through her throat and Reo tries to swallow it, resulting in an uncomfortable tinge of pain. Her lips part for a deep and sharp breath as her orgasm approaches. Her free hand reaches for Nagi, landing on her bicep. With both hands gripping her, Reo's hips are able to grind down onto Nagi's hand with more confidence. She feels shameless, fully knowing that probably dozens of students have walked passed by now. That same feeling is what pushes her over the edge.
Purple nails scratch against Nagi's blue blazer as her hips stutter. Her pussy tightens around Nagi's fingers but the other still fucks them in and out of her. The movement isn't as fast or fluid as before but what her fingers lack, her thumb makes up for, hastily pressing and rubbing at her clit. Reo can't help the noises that come from her as her body is filled with pleasure. Wetness squirts out of her with every thrust of Nagi's fingers. She feels it coming out of her, soaking not only Nagi's fingers but most likely pooling in the palm of her hand.
Reo's back arches uncomfortably, her thighs spreading and her toes curling in her shoes. Contractions make her pussy pulse, each one getting more intense and faster as Nagi continues to pleasure her. Reo lets out a whimper, one that comes with tears that start to form in her eyes. It's almost too much, almost so intense that Reo thinks she might cum again before she's even finished her original orgasm. Nagi has mercy on her though, slowly letting her fingers come to a stop before pulling out completely.
Messy fingers slide between Reo's wet folds, making her body twitch. She whines, her hips both bucking up into the touch and also reacting to the overstimulation. When Nagi's hand finally pulls away, Reo slumps against the wall, letting her body straighten out as much as it can. Reo watches Nagi pull her hand out from under her skirt. There's obvious wetness clinging to her skin, a mixture of clear and pearlescent cream. Reo feels another rush of warmth fill her cheeks when Nagi licks at her fingers.
"Nagi," Reo says, grabbing at her wrist to get her to stop. "Don't do that, it's embarrassing!"
Nagi doesn't listen this time and lens forward to lick at the tips of her fingers. "It's my treat."
Reo huffs, letting Nagi's hand go in defeat. She reaches down to button up her shirt, her fingers shakily struggling with the buttons. "I'll give you something better when we get back to my house."
Nagi hums as she sucks on her fingers, blinking at Reo. "'Kay."
Once Reo finishes fixing herself the best she can, she grabs Nagi's hand. "Come on, I need to go fix my hair."
There's not a single fuss from Nagi as she's led to the bathroom. Reo places her things down on the large marble counter. Her hands thread through her purple hair before she digs in her purse to pull out her brush. Nagi leans against the counter next to her, her finger playing with her own strands of hair, twisting and twirling them around lazily.
"Hey, Reo," Nagi starts when Reo pulls a golden clip from her bag. One hand holds back some of her hair while the other presses the clip in the exact spot she wants. "I'm glad you won. I know you would have anyways, but I don't want to be anyone else but yours."
Happiness beams across Reo's face as she flattens down the top of her hair, her eyes meeting Nagi's in the mirror. Reo turns, her nails sliding against the counter as she looks up at Nagi. "I'd do anything to keep you mine, treasure."
"Anything?" Nagi asks.
Reo smiles as she presses her finger to Nagi's nose, the very bottom of her nail shifting to a darker purple. "Anything."
