Wedding for Four

Summary:

When Chase and Marshall announce their wedding, Rocky, Zuma, Rubble, and Tracker are thrilled.

When Skye and Everest announce their wedding minutes later, two are even more excited, while the other two are horrified.

What was thought to be a misunderstanding turns out to have been a town-wide secret double wedding plan, requiring mission manipulation, food-based distractions, multiple accomplices, crying in the mirror, and far more lying than anyone is comfortable with. Everything will be fine. Probably.

Work Text:

Following Rocky and Zuma’s wedding in the rain and the pups’ half-baked theatrical performance regarding Ryder’s prophetic abilities, the rest of August went by in a flash.

But in between frequent missions, Wednesday spa days, and pup-pup boogie marathons, the newly-wed couple seemed to have ignited an arms race between Chase and Marshall, and Skye and Everest, to be the next to tie the knot.

Chase, in particular, was a bit embarrassed by the younger pups having gotten married before him. Normally, he was the stoic one—always calm, sticking to plans, often oblivious, but recently, he started lying awake thinking of his future plans with Marshall.

Marshall, on the other hand, had no qualms with outright challenging Skye to see who could get married first. He proudly flirted with and teased Chase at every opportunity. The German shepherd always pretended to be annoyed, but deep down, he fell harder in love every time.

Knock, knock!

Marshall jolted awake from a long mid-afternoon nap in his puphouse.

“C-coming!!”

Thump!

“Oww!”

Chase snickered as he heard Marshall immediately trip over something on his way to the door, before seeing the Dalmatian in his full, clumsy cuteness.

“Chase! How was the mission?”

Chase smirked, wrapping an arm around Marshall’s neck to pull him in for a passionate smooch.

Marshall’s ears turned bright red, his tail wagging a mile a minute. He panted heavily once Chase finally let go.

“Good, good…I’m just glad it’s September now so my paws don’t burn on the asphalt!”

Marshall grinned, tugging on Chase’s leg to lead him inside.

Chase closed the door behind them before taking off his pup-pack, unzipping a compartment with his teeth.

Marshall watched curiously as the shepherd pulled out a sheet of paper.

“Chasey…what’s that?”

Chase smirked, turning it with his paw to face him on the table.

Marshall leaned closer before gasping.

Chase & Marshall request the pleasure of your company at the celebration of their WEDDING. September 5th at 6:00 p.m. Farmer Al’s barn.

“C-Chase…oh my god…you…you really…?”

Chase simply nodded, smiling proudly as tears started to well in the corners of Marshall’s eyes.

“T-thank you, Chase!”

Marshall leapt onto the table, nearly squeezing the air out of Chase’s lungs as he wrapped his arms around him, licking him fervently around his neck and face.

Chase giggled as Marshall finally stopped, their noses but an inch apart.

“I love you, Marsh…and I hope this’ll be the best day of our lives.”

Marshall wiped a tear from his eye, grinning like the luckiest pup in the world.

“And better yet…we beat Skye and Evie to it!”

Chase chuckled, licking Marshall’s nose.

“That we did…”

“Wait…”

Chase raised an eyebrow.

“What’s the matter?”

Marshall glanced at the paper again, his eyes widening.

“September fifth…t-that’s in FOUR DAYS!!”

Chase held his breath as Marshall shook him in panic.

“CHASE! WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!?”

“Relax, Marsh!”

Chase waited until Marshall’s breathing had steadied before placing a paw over his.

“I’ve been planning this for a while…I’ve already sent invitations, ordered food and decorations, and checked the weather. Everything will go exactly to plan.”

Marshall breathed a sigh of relief, looking up to meet Chase’s confident brown eyes once more.

“You’re…you’re incredible, Chase…I can’t imagine my life with anyone else.”

“I can’t imagine my life with any pup clumsier than you~” Chase responded, earning a weak punch in the shoulder.

“Hmph!” Marshall pouted. “You’re lucky to be marrying this clumsy pup!”

“I didn’t doubt it for a second.”

Everest sat at the edge of the hill behind the Lookout, sighing as she overlooked the beautiful sunlit sky. A refreshing autumn breeze blew through her fur before hers ears picked up on the faint whirring of mechanical wings and a jet pack getting closer, turning her head.

“Skye!!” she shouted, jumping to her feet as the cockapoo landed on the ground with a backflip. “You said you had something important to tell me!”

Skye beamed at the husky, retracting her wings before giving her a big hug.

“I do! Evie, I…”

Skye gulped, her ears blushing as she reached to take off her pup-pack.

Everest tilted her head, giggling.

“C’mon, princess, spill it!”

Skye took a deep breath before pulling a flyer out with her teeth, holding it in place on the grass with her paw.

Everest went silent as she read the paper, putting a paw up to her snout.

Save the date! September 5, WEDDING Celebration. Skye & Everest. 6:00 p.m. Farmer Yumi’s barn.

Skye anxiously waited for the husky’s response, her tail tucking itself underneath her.

At last, she met Everest’s ocean eyes, which were starting to water.

“Oh, Skye, darling! Y-you didn’t have to!” Everest cried, nearly cradling the small cockapoo in her arms.

Skye giggled, licking Everest’s cheek.

“I did have to, silly! You mean everything to me, and I want the world to know that…I love you, so, so much, Evie.”

Everest wiped a tear from her eye, pressing their muzzles together for a long, fiery kiss.

“And I love you more…wait, when’s the date?”

“S-Saturday…”

Everest glanced at the flyer again, gasping.

“As in…THIS Saturday? SKYE!! That’s in FOUR DAYS!”

“Evie, breathe…I’ve talked with everyone we needed to talk to. Farmer Yumi’s gonna have the barn ready, Mr. Porter’s got the cake…all we need to do is find some dresses to wear!”

Everest’s smile faded slightly as she nervously chuckled, looking at the ground.

“Ev…? Something wrong?” Skye frowned, touching her fluffy chest with her paw.

“N-no, it’s just…I…”

“Evie. You can tell me anything. I-if it’s too soon, I can—”

“I’d rather wear a suit.”

Skye blinked.

“...And?”

Everest met Skye’s confused gaze.

“You don’t…mind?”

“Oh my gosh, of course I don’t mind! You’ll look positively DASHING in a suit!” Skye exclaimed, rubbing the husky’s cheek.

Everest’s ears lit up as she broke into a grin once more, licking Skye’s cheek.

“Thank you, babe…I know you’ll be the most beautiful princess in the world. And you’ll be all mine~”

Rocky, Zuma, Rubble, and Tracker were all lounging in the lobby, watching a rerun of Apollo the Super Pup when the sliding doors opened, revealing a blushing and grinning German shepherd-Dalmatian duo.

Rocky raised an eyebrow while Zuma couldn’t help but giggle.

“Why do you look so…happy?” Rubble asked.

Chase picked up a flyer with his teeth and placed it on the center of the carpet between the pups, while Marshall held his breath.

“Chase and Marshall request the pleasure of your company at the celebration of their…WEDDING?!” Rocky exclaimed.

“Y-you two are getting married?!” Tracker shouted, like he was in a telenovela.

“¡Sí!” replied Marshall, smiling even wider.

“Copycats,” Rocky scoffed, earning a gentle slap from Zuma.

“We’re so happy for you guys!” the labrador said, clutching his heart.

“We wanted to tell Skye and Everest too, but we couldn’t find them.”

“I’m sure Ryder knows,” Rubble immediately responded. “Watching our every move through his screen…”

Chase grunted, rolling his eyes. “Please don’t tell me you’re still on that—”

“Chasey, we’re gonna be late for dinner!” Marshall blurted, tugging the shepherd’s tail.

“Alright, alright!” Chase softly chuckled, licking the Dalmatian’s forehead. “We’ll see you later, guys!”

“Where are you off to?” Rocky asked.

“Porter’s Café!” Marshall replied. “Chase is such a gentleman he’s treating me to a nice dinner the day he announced the wedding! Did you do that for Zuma~?”

Rocky froze, his eyes drifting toward the labrador.

Zuma’s tail thumped, innocently turning his head away.

“Oh my god, Rocky! How could you!” cried Rubble.

“H-hey! I was a nervous wreck!” Rocky protested. “I had all it took to not faint!”

“As if that’s not you every day,” Rubble muttered, earning a slap on the paw and glare from his chihuahua boyfriend. “S-sorry, cariño, eheheh…”

“You were vewy bwave,” Zuma reassured Rocky, licking his nose.

“Okay, see ya, bye!!” Marshall shouted, before hurrying Chase out the door.

Shoooom!

The pups all glanced at each other, the show still playing in the background.

“La boda is only four days away…” Tracker mumbled. “I hope they have everything ready.”

“Don’t wowwy about it, I’m sure Chase had this planned ever since our wedding!” Zuma snickered, leaning up against Rocky.

The pups broke into light conversation about what the wedding would look like when all of a sudden, the doors opened again.

“Guys!” Skye shouted, hopping into the lobby while Everest carried a flyer in her mouth. “Big news!”

“What is it?” Tracker asked.

Everest dropped the flyer to the floor, her eager eyes focused on their reactions rather than the other wedding flyer it landed directly on top of.

“We’re getting married!!”

The pups exchanged stunned glances with each other.

“Y-you are??” Rocky exclaimed.

Everest quickly nodded, beaming.

“In four days!”

Tracker slowly raised his paw.

“But, Éverest…Cheis and—mmphh!!”

Rubble slapped his paw against his boyfriend’s mouth before letting out a small laugh.

“Chase and Marsh went to Mr. Porter’s for dinner. We’ll be sure to let them know!”

Tracker and Rocky’s eyes widened in disbelief, while Zuma glanced intriguingly at Rubble.

“Oh, thanks, guys,” said Skye.

“Skye, we should go there too!” Everest whined, making puppy eyes at her girlfriend.

“I don’t know, Ev, it might be awkward if we can see them make out from our table. Why don’t we get smoothies at the lemonade stand?”

Everest grinned, licking Skye’s forehead.

“Sounds perfect on a night like this. We’ll see you later, guys!”

“Bye, girls!” shouted Zuma.

Shoooom!

Rocky, Zuma, and Tracker immediately looked at Rubble, who wore a nonchalant expression.

“What?”

“A-are you serious…” began Rocky. “...you didn’t tell them that Chase and Marshall’s wedding is the SAME DAY? At the SAME place!?”

“Same place?” Tracker tilted his head, moving Skye’s flyer aside to compare the two.

“Cheis and Márshal’s is at Farmer Al’s. Escái and Éverest’s is at Farmer Yumi’s.”

“Tracker…those two got married last year. They live on the same farm,” Rocky explained.

“THEY DO!?” Tracker gasped. “¡Dios mío! W-we have to tell them!!”

“Well…” Zuma began, a mischievous grin growing on his face.

“...what if we didn’t?”

“N-no, Zoomie, you can’t be serious,” Rocky stated, in utter shock.

“Guys, think about it,” Rubble said.

The pups’ eyes darted toward the bulldog.

“Skye and I set up a double date with you two, Chase, and Marshall,” he continued, pointing to Rocky and Zuma.

“What if we set up a double wedding?”

Rocky groaned. “That sounds absolutely—”

“AWESOME!” Zuma yipped, his tail wagging.

“¡Ridículo!” shouted Tracker.

“Oh, cálmate, cariño…” Rubble cooed, scratching behind Tracker’s ears.

“Sure, they’ll be surprised, but it’ll be worth it in the end! Two weddings accomplished in one night and everyone’s happy!”

“Rubble…I don’t know about this…” Rocky grumbled.

“Come on, Wocky!” Zuma pouted. “It’ll be fun!”

Rocky sighed, before Zuma started licking the backs of his ears, making him giggle.

“A-alright, alright! Anything for you, Zoomie…” he finally said, softly smiling.

“It’s a plan, then!” Rubble exclaimed. “We just need to make sure they don’t find out about each other’s weddings. Shake paws?”

Rubble put his paw in the center of the carpet, Zuma joining him a second later.

Rocky reluctantly placed his paw on top of Zuma’s.

“Amigos, por favor…why can’t we just—”

Rubble grabbed the chihuahua’s paw with his other arm, putting it on top of Rocky’s.

“Here’s to a double wedding! Awooo!!” Rubble howled, followed by Zuma.

“Pups…?”

Everyone looked at Ryder who just entered the lobby with a bag full of kibble.

“What are you doing?”

Rubble gulped.

“We, uh…”

“The others went out for dinner!” Zuma exclaimed.

“Yes, I know that,” Ryder chuckled, filling their bowls. “But why were you howling?”

“F-full moon…” Rocky uttered, his ears pinned back in embarrassment.

Ryder’s gaze drifted toward the two wedding flyers lying clear-as-day on the floor.

“...Do they know?”

“L-LO SIENTO, RÁIDER, THEY—WE’RE PLANNING A DOUBLE WEDDING!” Tracker blurted, his eyes squeezed shut.

Ryder paused.

A moment of silence.

He smirked.

“Good luck, pups.”

The pups watched in awe as their leader left the room.

“He…he didn’t stop us,” uttered Rocky.

“He should stop us,” Tracker quipped.

“But he didn’t,” Rubble smirked.

“That’s because he knows it’s a gweat idea!” Zuma chirped.

“That is NOT why!” Rocky groaned.

The pups chuckled amongst themselves, knowing it would be a difficult four days ahead of them.

The next day went by without any issues. Rocky, Zuma, and Tracker breathed a sigh of relief when Rubble and Skye were called off to a mission together.

They weren’t worried about Chase, Skye, or Everest—they were all under the impression that the other couple had been told about their respective weddings.

No, the one pup they worried about spilling the beans was none other than Marshall. Zuma, and reluctantly Rocky, took it to make sure the Dalmatian hung out with them the whole day, as well as keep him away from Everest.

And what better way to keep him busy than to take him shopping?

“Marshall, you look fantastic!” Zuma insisted, as the Dalmatian skeptically looked at himself in the mirror, wearing a black and white tuxedo that matched his fur.

Marshall sighed. “I don’t know, Zuma…it just…it doesn’t feel right.”

“Wanna try a blue one…?” suggested Rocky.

“I-it’s not the color…” Marshall stammered, already taking off the tux.

“I don’t know if I want to wear a suit.”

“I mean…I guess you could just be naked like usual,” Zuma nervously smiled.

“It’s just that…” Marshall took a deep breath, before turning to look Rocky and Zuma in the eyes.

“Chase already looks so handsome…so confident, all the time. I think…I wanna look beautiful for him. In a dress.”

Rocky’s eyes widened while Zuma lit up in excitement.

“Marsh, that’s a gweat idea!” the labrador exclaimed. “Let’s get you to the dwess section!”

“Zu—wooaaaAHH~!”

The Dalmatian barely had time to react before Zuma grabbed his paw and giddily dragged him over to the female dogs’ section.

In a matter of minutes, Marshall had begun to sob as he saw himself wearing a billowing red dress in the mirror. His tail wagged so quickly from underneath that it caused a ripple throughout the dress’s train.

“Oh, Marshall…you look fabulous!” Zuma cooed, reaching over from the side to wipe a tear from his ear.

“Yeah…I have to admit, it looks like it was made for you,” added Rocky, smiling proudly beside him in the mirror.

“T-thanks, guys…I love it,” Marshall said. “But…do you think Chase…?”

“Chase would love it even if you wore Rubble’s Apollo costume to the wedding,” Rocky stated with a chuckle.

“Yeah!” Zuma agreed, grinning widely. “Chase is gonna faint when he sees how gorgeous you look.”

Rocky stifled a snicker. He’s sure gonna faint all right…

The four conspirators met up in the lobby before dinner that evening to discuss the day.

“So,” Zuma began, his tail already wagging. “I helped Marshall pick out the most beautiful red dress to wear for Saturday!”

“A dress??” Tracker exclaimed, his eyebrows raised in surprise. “¿De verdad?”

Rocky nodded. “It really suits him, trust me!

“Aww, I’m so happy for him!” Rubble said, his paw over his heart. “Skye wouldn’t stop yapping to me during our mission today about how excited she is for Saturday.”

Zuma winced. “Dinner’s gonna be hard these next three nights…”

“Don’t worry, guys, I’ve got some ideas for distractions,” Rubble proclaimed.

Tracker sighed. “Rúbel, amigos…are you really sure about this?? I mean, what if they get really angry at the wedding and…and!!”

“And what?” Zuma replied. “Get mad at us for planning the world’s first ever double wedding? If anything, they’ll be gwateful!”

Rocky groaned loudly, just as the doors opened.

“Hey, guys!!” Marshall exclaimed, trotting over to the circle with a big grin on his face, Chase following right behind him.

“Marshall! Chase! How’s it going?” asked Zuma.

“Where’s Skye and Evie? I really want to show them the—”

Marshall paused mid-sentence, his eyes darting over to Chase and back, gulping.

“The what?” Chase inquired, tilting his head.

“T-the cake!”

“Marsh, I ordered the cake, you silly pup!” Chase teased, scratching the back of his ears.

Marshall giggled, immediately leaning his head up against Chase’s chest.

Rocky exchanged a nervous glance with Zuma.

How are we going to keep him from telling the girls when he can barely keep a secret from Chase??

Shoooom!

The doors opened again, revealing a giddy cockapoo-husky duo.

“Aww, aren’t they adorable!” Everest cooed, pointing to Chase and Marshall.

“Too bad they lost the competition~” Skye giggled.

The four pups froze.

Chase raised an eyebrow. “What compe—”

“Dinner’s ready!”

The pups spun around to see Ryder walking in from the kitchen with freshly cooked liver.

Everest breathed in the strong smell, moaning.

“Well if it isn’t the best food in the world…thanks so much, Ryder!!”

Ryder laughed, filling their bowls.

“My pleasure, Ev!”

Rubble’s eyes bulged as Ryder gave him a subtle wink before turning back, followed by a subtle sigh of relief.

You’re a life saver, Ryder…

The liver’s intense aroma seemed to have staved off the topic of weddings for the rest of the evening, letting both the willing and reluctant conspirators relax for at least tonight.

The universe managed to preserve the growing secret the next day as Chase and Marshall were called out for a mission together, allowing for Rubble and Tracker to accompany Skye and Everest on their trip to the very same pet clothing shop Marshall was at yesterday.

“Skye, you look incredible!” Rubble exclaimed, as the cockapoo tried on a third wedding gown in the mirror.

“Eh…I don’t know…I like the ruffles around the paws on this one, but I don’t care for the train as much as the second one.”

Rubble grunted as he went back to the clothing rack to find another.

“You sure you’re not overthinking this?” he asked while shuffling through dresses. “Evie’s gonna love how you look in any one of these.”

Skye sighed, her ears drooping.

“I just…I want to make sure I look the best I can for her. I mean, Everest left her home on the mountain for a third of the year just to be with me in Adventure Bay. I need something that will let her know how grateful I am to have her.”

Rubble’s expression softened as he padded over to her side, wrapping an arm around her.

“Oh, Skye…you have nothing to worry about. Everest is so crazy over you that Jake’s lucky he still gets to have her all that time!”

Skye nervously giggled for a moment, looking down.

“I wanna make sure the wedding is perfect.”

Rubble gulped, his tail falling between his legs. For the first time since he came up with the absurd idea, he felt a tinge of guilt.

Maybe this…isn’t that great of an idea. It’s funny, but…maybe they deserve their own days.

“Hey! Time’s ticking! I need to try on more dresses!” Skye playfully barked, snapping Rubble out of his thoughts.

“O-on it!!” the bulldog responded, running back for more.

Tracker, meanwhile, stood proudly as Everest looked over herself in a charming suit in the mirror.

“Ay, Éverest, chiquita, you look increíble!”

Everest softly grinned, moving around to see herself at different angles.

“Are you sure…? I mean, Skye said she’s fine with it, but…I don’t know…”

“Well…do you like how it looks?” Tracker gently asked.

“Yeah…”

“Is it comfortable?”

“Very.”

“And Escái likes the idea?”

“She said I’d look ‘positively dashing.’ ”

“Then wear the suit!”

Everest groaned cutely, before squeezing the smaller chihuahua in for a tight hug.

“Thanks, Tracker…I’m overthinking it. Let’s go show Skye!”

Tracker grinned, jumping to his feet.

“¡Vamos!”

Skye squealed in delight as she admired every inch of the sixth dress in the mirror, while Rubble lay exhausted on the ground beside her.

“I LOVE IT!! We’re getting this one, and that’s final!” she exclaimed, her grin softening as she glanced at Rubble.

“That’s wonderful, Skye…” Rubble muttered.

Suddenly, Skye’s ear perked up. She looked around the corner to see none other than her girlfriend sprinting down the room in a dark blur.

“Skye! Skye! Whatcha think!?” exclaimed the husky.

Skye gasped as she took a full view of Everest in a navy blue and white suit.

“You…look…AMAZING!”

Everest stood speechless as she observed Skye in her elaborate white gown with intricate designs, cuffs, and a billowing train.

You…look like the most beautiful pup in the world,” she stammered, her eyes finally meeting Skye’s.

Rubble smugly watched the two ogle each other from the side with Tracker, giving him a paw-bump. Tracker gasped, pretending to be offended by the action.

“That is NOT what you do with your amor!”

Rubble scoffed. “Then what do you suppose I—mmph!”

Tracker put both of his paws on Rubble’s cheeks, pulling him in for a tight kiss on the muzzle.

“Wow…” Everest chuckled, watching the two.

“Way to ruin our moment,” Skye added, resting her head against Everest’s sleeve with a big grin.

Rocky and Zuma were playing a game of Monopawly in the lounge with Chase and Marshall when the girls and their bridespups entered the room for dinner.

Zuma looked up, a sense of terror building as he saw an excited spark in Skye’s eyes.

“Guys! Evie and I went shopping today!” she exclaimed, holding Everest’s paw as they sat down.

“Really?” Marshall perked up. “Rocky and Zuma went with me yesterday!”

“Ooh, I can’t wait to see what you all got us,” Everest grinned.

“Got you…? Why would—”

“GUYS!” Rubble abruptly shouted.

Everyone turned their heads to the bulldog.

“I baked us treats!”

“Aww, sweet!” Marshall yipped, his tail wagging.

“Be right back!” Rubble yelled, already running to the kitchen.

Before long, everyone was munching on reheated pup treats with each cheering on one pup playing the game.

“One, two, three, four…NO!” Skye exclaimed as Chase landed on one of Marshall’s properties.

“Hah! Eat it!” the Dalmatian quipped, paw-bumping Everest.

“That’ll be five hundred dollars!” Everest said, smirking.

Chase grumbled as he looked through his money and mortgaged properties.

“Ugh, I’m bankrupt.”

“That leaves you, Zuma!”

Zuma gulped, rolling the dice on the floor.

Tracker’s ears folded as he immediately knew Zuma was going to lose.

“...Why do you always get the Lookout? the labrador grumbled.

Rocky rolled his eyes, having been the first to lose. “Cause this game is all luck and no skill.”

Marshall stuck his tongue out in response to the both of them.

“So, Skye’s the queen of truth or dare, and I’m the king of Monopawly!”

“A very dashing king, I may add~” Chase teased, licking his cheek.

Marshall immediately blushed, practically swooning into his boyfriend’s arms.

The secret was safe for yet another night.

Rocky, Zuma, Rubble, and Tracker practically thanked the universe for assigning two missions where Marshall wouldn’t be able to talk to Skye or Everest.

They could only hope the streak could continue for one more day.

Marshall and Skye seemed especially excited the third morning since their wedding announcements, causing nervous tension throughout the lobby at breakfast.

“So, how’re you feeling about tomorrow?” Marshall beamed, eating bites of kibble.

“I’m so excited!!” Skye exclaimed. “It’s gonna be the best day of me and Evie’s life.”

Chase’s eyebrows rose in surprise.

“Really? Didn’t know it would be your favorite too.”

Zuma’s breath hitched while Rubble pounced to the middle of the room.

“Guys! Ryder’s gonna call us in three…two…one!!”

The pups looked up at their pup-tags for a few seconds before looking at Rubble in silence.

Rubble nervously chuckled. “Any…second now!”

Skye laughed. “Rubble, I’m the only one who can actually—”

Bleep, bleep!

“PAW Patrol, to the Lookout!”

“Ryder needs us!”

“Hah, told you!” Rubble quipped, an anxious tone to his chuckle still.

Skye rolled her eyes before heading to the elevator with everyone.

Along the way up, Chase and Marshall looked lovingly at each other, Skye nuzzled against Everest’s leg, and the four others exchanged relieved glances.

Ding!

One by one, the pups leapt out into formation.

“PAW Patrol, ready for action, Ryder, sir!” shouted Chase.

“Thanks for hurrying, pups!” said Ryder. “A little kitten climbed up the ladder to the town’s water tower, and we need to bring her down safely!”

Rubble and Rocky shared concerned looks, being the ones most fond of cats.

“For the mission, I’ll need…Marshall!”

The screen lit up red.

“I need you to use your ladder to try to reach the kitten.”

“I’m fired up!” the Dalmatian yipped.

“And…!”

Ryder paused, his finger hovering over Skye’s icon.

“Zuma!”

“Me?!” The labrador’s eyes widened in shock.

“I’ll need you to fill up one of your water mattresses to catch her if she falls.”

“Weady, set, get wet!” Zuma exclaimed.

Chase looked up to his leader in slight confusion. “Sir…wouldn’t Skye be a better fit for this mission?”

“Actually,” Ryder began, biting his lip to suppress a smile. “Mr. Porter needs Skye’s help at his café.”

Skye grinned, wagging her tail. “This puppy’s gotta fly!”

“Alright! PAW Patrol is on a roll!”

Chase, Rocky, and Everest gave Marshall, Zuma, and Everest quick kisses on the muzzle before sending their partners down the slide.

Rubble breathed a sigh of relief once he could see Marshall’s truck taking off with Zuma and Ryder in the distance while Skye took off on her helicopter.

“Rubble? What’s going on?”

Rubble froze, looking up to see Everest’s suspicious glare.

“N-nothing’s going on! Why would you think that!?”

Everest sighed. “I don’t know…I think I’m letting my nerves about tomorrow get to me.”

Rubble bit his lip as Chase’s ear perked up.

“Don’t worry, Ev. I’ve made double sure everything will go just fine.”

Everest tilted her head in confusion.

“Why are you so invested in my—”

“OH MY GOD!” Rocky shouted, earning the attention of everyone in the observatory. His ears immediately flattened as he realized he had not the slightest idea of a distraction.

“D-did you hear what happened to Mayor Goodway??”

Chase raised an eyebrow. “No, what?”

“Chickaletta escaped!”

Everest snickered. “I’ve lived here long enough to know that’s not a surprise.”

“Hah, yeah, Rocky,” quipped Rubble, punching him in the shoulder. “Who wants to play pup-pup boogie?”

“Ooh! ¡Yo! I do!” Tracker yipped, his tail wagging as he already began his way to the consoles.

Chase rolled his eyes as he followed everyone, while the conspirators all mentally breathed a sigh of relief.

After a few rounds of intense pup-pup boogie, Chase and Rocky were exhausted.

“I think I sprained my tail after that spin…” Chase grumbled, walking away with Rocky to get some water.

“Tell me about it…” Rocky replied, secretly glad that Chase and Everest would be apart now.

“I’m surprised you were willing to play without Zuma dragging you onto the console!” Chase laughed, before lapping up water from a bowl.

“Heh…what can I say, maybe my husband got me into it,” the mutt nervously explained.

Chase paused, looking up from the bowl.

Rocky gulped as he saw Chase’s tail stand upright. Oh no…this is it. He found out. All I had to do was stay silent, but no! I had to ruin every—

“Sorry,” Chase grumbled, turning around to look Rocky sheepishly in the eyes. “It’s just that…I know you two are married, but it’s still kinda weird to hear you call each other ‘husband’ out loud.”

Rocky’s eyes widened, his body relaxing as a wave of relief rushed through him.

“Heh, it’s weird for me too…I still catch myself calling him my boyfriend from time to time.”

“Rocky…” Chase stepped closer, his ears drooping.

The mutt’s tail fell between his legs as he began to sweat. I’m so confused right now… he thought. Does he or doesn’t he know?

“How did you do it?”

Rocky blinked. “D-do what?”

“Marry Zuma. I mean, I’ve been planning this thing for weeks, but I’m still so nervous…”

Rocky nearly snorted. “You think I knew what I was doing with Zuma? I wasn’t lying when I said I nearly fainted because of the stress.”

“But, still…your wedding was beautiful…even though it suddenly downpoured.”

“Hmph, it sure did…” Rocky scoffed.

The two looked each other in the eyes for a few long, silent moments.

“I thought the rain would ruin the day for me…and it probably would’ve, if it had been only like a month earlier,” Rocky explained. “But after all I’d been through with Zuma helping me get over my fear of water, and you guys helping me find myself again…the rain almost felt like a joke.”

Chase softly smiled, listening as he sat across the mixed breed.

“And when Zuma started walking down that aisle…all my worries just vanished. All I could think about was how I was the luckiest pup in the world.”

“Aww, Rocky…”

Chase placed his paw on Rocky’s as he saw him start to get melancholy. He himself started to feel emotional, his tail slowly thumping back and forth on the floor.

“You better know by now that Zuma is lucky to have married you too.”

Rocky chuckled, shaking his head.

“Yeah, maybe a little…took enough therapy sessions from you guys.”

Chase grinned, laughing with Rocky for a few seconds before he looked back down.

“Sometimes, I wonder if Marshall deserves a better pup than me.”

“What?” Rocky looked shocked.

I expected to hear that from Marshall, not Chase…

“I mean, I didn’t notice his feelings for years, and then I broke his heart by going on a date with Skye.”

“It’s not your fault you’re the most oblivious pup in Adventure Bay~” Rocky teased.

“Hey!” Chase gave him a weak punch in the shoulder, snickering.

“But seriously, dude. Marshall loves you more than anything in the world. The wedding can be a disaster and he’ll still…”

Rocky trailed off before gulping.

Can be…? It will be…

“He’ll still love me. Yeah…yeah, I know he will. Nothing’s gonna stop it from being the best day of our lives,” Chase concluded, confidently.

Rocky gave Chase a nervous smile, before being wrapped into a tight hug.

“Hkkhh~!”

“Thanks, Rocky,” Chase said, before casually letting him go.

“A-anytime…”

The pups were relieved when Marshall came back from his mission without immediately talking about his wedding tomorrow.

“So, I know you guys won’t believe this, but…” Marshall began, earning a smirk from Chase and Rubble.

“...the kitten jumped on my head, I went tumbling down the ladder, she FELL, but Zuma caught her with his giant water bed!”

“Never would’ve guessed!” Tracker joked.

“Way to go, Zuma!” cheered Rubble.

Zuma proudly smiled while Rocky leaned up against him, licking his cheek.

“I knew you were perfect for the job…”

Chase rolled his eyes, still shocked that Ryder didn’t pick Skye for the mission. “Right…good job, Zuma.”

Shoooom!

The pups’ eyes darted toward Skye, who was practically vibrating in anticipation in the doorframe.

“Quick, the distraction,” Rubble immediately whispered into Zuma’s ear.

“Guys! You won’t believe how beautiful my wed—”

“WHO WANTS FISH!?”

The soon-to-be-wed couples gasped as Zuma reached from behind him and slapped a gigantic, slimy salmon right in the center of the room.

Chase’s jaw dropped. “How long have—”

“Caught it after the mission. Come on, evewyone gets some!”

Skye watched in horror as she watched Zuma tear off pieces of the smelly fish and place them in each pup’s bowl.

“Guys…as I was saying…Mr. Porter—”

“Mmmmhh!” Rocky dramatically moaned, licking his lips. “Nice catch, Zoomie!”

“¡Delicioso!” Tracker exclaimed from across the room.

Marshall shrugged before throwing his portion in his mouth, his ears perking up as he savored the flavor.

“Wow! This is good!” he mumbled, a scale stuck on his nose.

Everest took a nice whiff of the scent before chowing down on her piece.

“Ooh, Skye, you’ve gotta try this!” she said with her mouth full.

Skye looked queasily at the fresh fish in her bowl before dipping her snout down to take a little nibble.

“Eh…it’s alright.”

Chase and Rubble both tried a little bite before the bulldog gave his portion to Zuma.

“Sorry, but I’ve gotta save room for dessert!”

The pups giggled as Zuma quickly gobbled up what was left of the salmon. Rocky lovingly watched his husband demolish the fish.

“Oh, Wocky~”

Rocky’s ears turned bright red as Zuma leaned in closer, a piece of fish in between his teeth. Rocky shyly accepted, opening his snout to take the other end in his mouth, their lips cutting it in half before pressing against each other.

Tracker leaned up against Rubble, sighing as they watched the cute couple.

“Are you sure tomorrow will be okay..?”

Rubble rolled his eyes, licking Tracker’s forehead.

“They’ll be fine. Te prometo.”

Talking out his feelings with Rocky seemed to have relaxed Chase enough to be able to fall asleep that night.

The only reason he couldn’t was his soon-to-be husband.

Thump…thump…thump…

Chase groaned, rolling over to open an eye, making out the shadow of Marshall’s tail hitting the floor.

“Can you not be so excited about tomorrow,” he grumbled.

Marshall gasped, raising his head from the cushion.

“How could you ask such a thing! I’m gonna think about it all night long!”

Chase sighed, wrapping an arm around the Dalmatian.

“It’s gonna be a big day, and I want you to be well-rested, Marsh…”

Marshall groaned, scooching closer to the shepherd’s warm body.

“I just love you so much, Chase…” he whispered in his ear. “Tomorrow’s my chance to let the world know just how much.”

Chase chuckled, licking his snout.

“As if you don’t let the world know every day…”

Marshall giggled, licking Chase in return.

“I’ll try to sleep. Good night, Chasey…”

“Good night, Marsh…I love you.”

“Love you too.”

Unfortunately for Chase, the night’s tranquility didn’t last long.

“GUYS! TODAY’S THE DAY!!” Marshall practically screamed as he burst through the front doors to the lobby, before seeing only Rocky and Zuma.

“Where’re the others?” he immediately asked, frowning.

“Still sleeping,” Rocky said.

“W-well I’ve gotta wake them up!” Marshall insisted.

Zuma gasped as the Dalmatian turned around to head right back out with Chase.

“WAIT!”

Marshall’s ear perked up.

“What?”

“Mr. Porter invited us for bweakfast! Let’s go, wight now!”

“Without the others?” Chase raised an eyebrow.

“Don’t wowwy, we’ll bwing leftovers!” Zuma exclaimed.

Rocky nervously followed behind as Zuma nudged Marshall and Chase out the door.

“Ooh…a pre-wedding breakfast at Porter’s does sound nice…” Marshall murmured, licking his lips.

“Y-yeah, it sure does!” added Rocky.

Chase rolled his eyes at Rocky’s big, anxious smile.

“We should take your firetruck, Marsh,” Chase said. “So that we can go straight to Farmer Al’s afterward to set up the decorations.”

Marshall’s tail wagged. “Great idea, Chasey!”

Zuma smiled at Rocky as they walked past the two to Rocky’s recycling truck.

In less than a minute, both trucks’ engines ignited, and the four were off headed downtown.

Tracker grumbled as his sensitive ears picked up on the loud motors outside his puphouse, stirring Rubble awake in the process.

“Cariño…¿qué hora es…?

Rubble blinked his eyes open, yawning as he reached for his alarm clock.

“E-EIGHT!?”

Tracker yelped as Rubble shook him fully awake.

“We gotta get to the lobby, stat! Before Skye and Ev get there!”

Tracker whined as Rubble dragged him out of his own room, still hoping there could be a solution to this madness.

Meanwhile, Skye snuggled closer to Everest from inside the husky’s puphouse, the large air conditioning unit drowning out the noise of the engines outside.

Bleep, bleep!

Everest grumbled, slowly stirring awake.

“Pups! Time for breakfast!”

Skye’s eyelids shot upon, her tail instinctively wagging.

“Breakfast!? Oh, what a wonderful start to the day!”

Everest sighed before chuckling, her smaller girlfriend struggling to pull her out of her cozy bed.

“Alright, alright, princess! We’re going!”

Skye grinned, vibrating in enthusiasm.

“I can’t wait to tell the others how excited I am!”

“The wedding isn’t for another ten hours, don’t get yourself too worked up, Skye,” Everest calmly explained.

“ONLY TEN HOURS!?” Skye gasped as she sprinted to the lobby, leaving Everest to run after her.

“Skye! Evie! Good to see you!” Rubble exclaimed as the two girls entered the room.

“Mornin’, Rubble,” said Everest, looking around. “...Where are the others?”

“We just didn’t want to wake you up early since you’ve got such a busy day ahead!”

“We overslept too!” added Tracker.

Ryder suddenly entered the room with a plate stacked full of pancakes.

“Good morning, everypup! I’ve got pancakes!”

“Ooh!” Skye closed her eyes as she breathed in the wonderful smell.

“Thanks so much, Ryder! This is just what I needed!”

Ryder grinned, subtly winking at Rubble and Tracker.

“Of course, pups!”

“Come to think of it…” Everest began, taking a bite of her pancake. “...I don’t think we’ve gotten the chance to talk to Chase and Marshall about our wedding.”

Rubble silently gulped while Tracker’s large ears flattened.

“Oh, don’t worry, girls!” the bulldog replied. “We’ve talked to them and they’re so excited to see you at your wedding!”

“Really?” Skye grinned. “That’s pawsome!”

Tracker nervously nodded, forcing a smile.

Just a few more hours…I think I can survive.

After a hearty and somewhat relaxing breakfast at Porter’s Café, Chase and Marshall began the trip to Farmers Al and Yumi’s farm, with Rocky and Zuma following right behind.

“Zuma…are you really one hundred percent sure this is a good idea…?” Rocky whined, trying to keep his attention on the road.

“Of course I am!” the labrador chimed, sticking his tongue out as the wind whipped through his ears.

“I-it’s not too late to just tell them and have the girls postpone their wedding!”

“Wocky. Wyder’s in on it, Mr. Porter’s in on it…I think the farmers and Mayor Goodway too. It’ll be fun for evewyone!”

Rocky let out a long, defeated sigh.

“I guess we might as well so these four days of constant anxiety weren’t for nothing…”

“That’s the spiwit!”

About half an hour passed until the four had arrived outside the barn.

“Farmer Al! Farmer Yumi! We’re here!” Marshall called out as he hopped out of his truck.

Seconds later, the couple walked outside, waving.

“Marshall! Chase! Good to see you!” Farmer Yumi replied with a grin.

“I see you brought helpers!” said Farmer Al.

“Hey, evewyone!” Zuma shouted, running over to receive a scratch on the head from Farmer Yumi.

“You’re here quite early,” said Al.

“Well…I just wanted to make double sure all the decorations are set up in time,” Chase explained, smiling proudly.

“I know you would,” Yumi said, winking at Rocky and Zuma.

The labrador beamed at Rocky, who resigned to a lighthearted eye roll and chuckle in response.

He’s absolutely insane… Rocky thought. …I love him so much.

The pups panted as they finally took a break from setting up the chairs, bunting, balloons, and banners all over the barn.

“Wow…” Marshall said, yawning as he sat next to the others outside. “We got everything set up a lot quicker than I thought. Thanks, guys!”

“Of course, Marsh! What are fwiends…for…”

The pups’ ears perked up as they heard the sound of a motor in the distance, followed by whirring from up above.

Whup, whup, whup, whup!

Chase looked up in utter confusion to see a pink helicopter approaching.

“What’s Skye doing here so early…?”

He turned his head to Rocky and Zuma.

“Did you guys ask for extra help?”

“I…we…” Rocky stuttered, looking at the ground.

Zuma whistled, looking at the clouds.

“Dude, look at that one! It looks like…a fish with two tails!”

Marshall rose to his feet as Rubble’s bulldozer approached from around the corner.

Rubble did his best to hide his grin as he and Tracker leapt out. Moments later, Skye’s helicopter landed beside them, Everest letting the cockapoo use her back to step down.

“Guys! What are you all doing here? We’ve already set up everything!” the Dalmatian exclaimed.

“…We’re here to set up the decorations for our wedding?” Skye explained, raising an eyebrow.

“YOUR wedding!?”

The gazes of Skye, Everest, Marshall, and Chase slowly shifted to the other four pups.

“…That cloud looks like a cupcake,” Rubble pointed out, sitting beside Zuma.

Chase immediately rustled through his pup-pack, pulling out his wedding flyer.

“We booked the barn for 6 p.m. today!”

Skye let out an offended gasp, whipping out her flyer in turn.

“I asked Farmer Yumi for today at 6!”

“Al! Yumi!?” Marshall yelled.

The pups waited for a response.

Silence.

“So…” Rubble began. “Let’s get your decorations set up!”

“Okay, wait, what the hell is going on?” Everest finally barked. “Whose wedding is happening?”

“BOTH!” Zuma yipped. His tail wagging gradually slowed as he observed the unamused expressions on the couples’ faces.

“You…you’ve been planning this,” Chase said, sounding more like a statement than a question.

“For four days…” Marshall added.

“G-guys, girls, just hear me out!” Rubble exclaimed. He immediately gulped, grasping Tracker’s paw as the four stared him down.

“Rocky, Zuma, Chase, and Marshall might’ve not gotten together if it weren’t for me and Skye’s brilliant double date plan!”

Skye’s expression softened as she took a moment to contemplate.

“So…we thought a double wedding might be a fun idea…” Rubble concluded, with the most nervous chuckle anyone had heard.

“A double wedding…?” Chase repeated, his tail flicking.

“I mean…it could be fun,” said Marshall.

“To have to share our special day??” Everest retorted.

The husky looked down at Skye, placing her paw atop hers.

“Skye…? What do you think?”

The cockapoo glanced up, meeting Everest’s unsure eyes.

“I…I think…”

The pups held their breaths.

“We’ve all spent weeks planning this, and it would be a shame to let it all go to waste. Besides…if there’re any pups I have to share my wedding with, I’m glad it’s you two.”

Chase and Marshall exchanged surprised expressions as Skye grinned at them.

“J-just to let you all know, it was RUBBLE’S idea!” Rocky blurted, earning a light smack from Zuma.

“W-WHAT!? I mean, yeah, I started the idea, but everyone else helped!”

I didn’t want to help!” Tracker pleaded.

“Hold on a sec…” Chase pondered. “…that mission yesterday…Ryder swapped out Skye for Zuma! I-is he in on this too!?”

The four conspirators hummed in unspoken acknowledgement.

“And Al and Yumi must’ve known too…” added Everest. “…Did everyone in Adventure Bay know about this but US!?”

Zuma snorted before bursting out giggling, warranting a smack back from Rocky.

“C’mon, Skye,” said Marshall, already smiling again. “Lemme help with your decorations.”

The earlier tension from feelings of shock and betrayal gradually dissipated as the pups scrambled to reorganize Chase and Marshall’s decorations to accommodate Everest and Skye’s throughout the barn.

By the time cars could be heard pulling up to the barn, the inside looked like it had been divided in half—red and blue balloons and bunting on the left, pink and teal ribbons and decor on the right, a large wooden arch adorned with colorful flowers in the middle, and a majestic, purple runner leading up to it from across the floor.

“Wow…for a last minute surprise, this sure looks beautiful,” said Everest, smiling as she stood beside Skye in the doorway.

“It sure does,” Skye replied, glancing at the other couple.

“Thanks for the help, guys.”

“No problem, Skye,” said Marshall. “What are friends for?”

“They typically don’t share a wedding,” Chase remarked with a smirk.

Beep! Beep!

“Guys!” Zuma shouted from outside. “The guests are here!”

“Great, let’s see just how many people knew about this,” Everest said sarcastically.

The four chuckled as they stepped outside to greet everyone.

Zuma and Rocky were already greeting Cap’n Turbot and Francois. Rubble and Tracker were saying hi to Carlos, Mr. Porter, and Alex. Ryder was talking with Katie and Brenna, the cashier from the party supply store.

Suddenly, Mayor Goodway rushed up with Chickaletta in her purse.

“Pups! I am truly honored to officiate Adventure Bay’s first ever double wedding!”

Marshall and Skye exchanged glances before snickering.

“Y-you know…this wasn’t exactly what we planned,” explained Skye.

“Really?” Mayor Goodway turned around to look inside the barn. “It looks beautifully coordinated! I’m so happy for you four!”

“Heh, thanks, Mayor Goodway,” said Chase, before getting a scritch on the head. “Couldn’t have done it without our friends…”

“Evie! My girl!”

Everest looked up to see both Jake and his recently-adopted son Danny run up to her.

“D-Dad! Danny! It’s great to see you!” she exclaimed, hugging the both of them.

“We wouldn’t miss your wedding for the world,” said Danny, scratching behind the husky’s ears.

“Mmmh…” Rubble audibly hummed in the distance. “What’s that smell, Mr. Porter?”

“The wedding cakes!”

“CAKES!? Oooh, can I take a peak? Pretty pleaseee?”

Mr. Porter shook his head as he resumed wheeling the two cakes concealed in large lids to the barn.

Before long, Ryder and Katie walked up to the couples.

“Hey, guys!” Katie said with a big grin. “We need to get you all changed into your wedding outfits!”

Skye picked up on the redness of the insides of Marshall’s floppy ears as she looked up from below.

“Ryder, how about you take care of Chase and Evie, and I’ll handle Marsh and Skye?”

“Wait…” said Chase. “Why don’t I get to change with—”

“To keep up the suspense, dummy!” Skye chirped, a bit too excitedly.

Chase rolled his eyes as Everest began leading him away from his future husband.

“See you soon, Chasey!” Marshall called out, giving Skye a relieved smile.

“Don’t worry, pups,” Katie whispered, leading them to another room. “You’re gonna look gorgeous.”

In the grooms’ room, Chase and Everest were desperately trying to play it cool in front of Ryder, as he put on Chase’s bowtie.

“H-how do I look, Everest?” the shepherd pleaded, brushing the fur on his face with his paw in the mirror.

“Like a groom,” the husky plainly replied, though not without a smirk.

“That’s not helping!”

Everest sighed, adjusting her collar in the mirror next to him.

“You look nervous.”

“I am nervous! I mean, what if Marshall wanted me to wear navy blue like you instead of black??” Chase stammered. “Oh, shoot, he probably wanted to match with him…what if he’s wearing a black suit and expected me to wear a white suit for contrast? I-I should’ve asked! I should’ve planned better! I should’ve—”

“Chase.” Ryder gently patted the shepherd’s head, then Everest’s.

“Both of you will do just fine out there. Just stand up straight, hold your head up high, and wait for your brides to walk down the aisle.”

“Oh gosh…” said Everest. “Skye is gonna look so amazing…”

“I can’t wait to see Marshall…”

Everest knowingly smirked at Ryder before wrapping an arm around Chase.

“He’s gonna love it. Just be your usual, confident, policepup-self.”

Chase chuckled, smiling in the mirror at the both of them.

“You too, snow-dozer.”

A much different scene was playing out simultaneously in the brides’ room.

“C’mon, Marsh, control your tail!” Katie laughed as she fitted Marshall’s red dress over his body and tied it around his chest.

“I’m trying, Katie!” Marshall exclaimed, his excitement only growing as he observed himself in the mirror.

Skye giggled as she listened to the two from behind the dressing screen.

“You’re taking forever, Marsh! I need to get my dress on!”

“Hang on a second, Skye!” Katie called out.

After a few more tugs, Marshall stepped out from the divider.

Skye audibly gasped. She couldn’t believe her eyes. There, the slender Dalmatian stood, his clumsiness replaced with an almost regal elegance as the ruby dress covered the majority of his body, his tail still sending ripples through the train.

“Marshall…you look…”

“B-beautiful…” Marshall finished her sentence, tears welling in his eyes.

“Oh, YES, Marsh, you’re STUNNING!” Skye exclaimed, running to wrap her little arms around his neck.

Marshall warmly smiled, reaching over to put a paw on Skye’s back.

“Thank you, Skye…”

“Skye! You’re up next!” Katie called out, grinning as she watched the two hug.

Skye grinned, letting go of the Dalmatian as she trotted behind the changing screen.

Marshall sighed, smiling to himself as he heard Katie put on Skye’s dress.

Soon enough, tears of joy could be heard from behind the screen.

“Lemme see, lemme see!” Marshall begged, trying to restrain himself from peeking.

Skye proudly stepped out from the screen, posing in her elaborate white dress.

“Oh. My. God. Skye, you look incredible!!” exclaimed Marshall.

Skye wiped a tear from her eye, hugging Marshall a second time.

Katie scratched both of their ears, nearly moved to tears too.

“You two are gonna be the most beautiful pups the city’s ever seen. Don’t be afraid to own that aisle!”

Marshall grinned, rubbing his head affectionately against Katie’s leg.

“Thanks, Katie...”

Skye joined in, nuzzling up against the girl’s other leg.

“We sure will.”

The light blue sky was gradually replaced with dreamy streaks of orange and pink as the sun set. All of the guests had taken their seats inside the barn, and excited chatter filled the air.

“Guys, I am SO excited!!” shrilled Rubble, nudging the others.

Rocky sighed, shaking his head with a slight smirk.

“At least it looks like it’ll work out in the end.”

“This was such a gweat idea!” Zuma remarked, high-fiving Rubble.

“I’m just glad they didn’t murder us on the spot…” Tracker grumbled, before Rubble licked his cheek.

Suddenly, the four pups looked up as Ryder nudged Chase and Everest forward into their places in front of the flower-covered arch.

“You’ve got this, pups,” he whispered, giving them one last pat before stepping away.

Chase swallowed hard as he glanced at the small audience gathered throughout the barn, his ears drooping slightly.

The husky adjusted her collar one final time, softly smiling at Chase.

“You ready?” she asked.

Chase inhaled deeply, trying to calm his nerves.

“Ask me again in five minutes.”

Everest snorted.

Mayor Goodway stepped forward from behind the pups, smoothing out her sash while Chickaletta peeked out from her purse.

“Good evening, everyone!” she called out, with a big smile. “Welcome to Adventure Bay’s, and quite possibly the world’s, first ever double wedding! Now, give it up for the PAW Patrol!”

The crowd cheered enthusiastically. Zuma let out a squeal of joy before Rocky quietly elbowed him. Tracker leaned his head against Rubble, finally seeming to enjoy the moment.

Once the clapping had subsided, the first notes of the bridal chorus echoed throughout the barn.

Chase felt his heart pounding in his chest, his ears standing upright.

Beside him, Everest’s tail twitched.

Slowly, Farmer Al pushed the right barn door open, while Farmer Yumi pushed the left.

Golden evening sunlight spilled across the purple runner as two figures appeared in the doorway.

Chase’s breath caught.

Everest went completely still.

Marshall stood beneath the fading sunlight, his ruby-red dress adorned with tiny white and gold pearls shimmering with every movement.

Beautiful didn’t even begin to describe him. Every worry Chase had about the colors, decorations, and schedules dissipated in an instant. All he could do was stare at his gorgeous boyfriend.

Beside him, Skye looked radiant in a blooming white dress, her large ears styled even fluffier than usual.

Everest fought hard to keep her jaw from dropping from gazing at her girlfriend. Despite weeks of imagining what Skye would look like walking down the aisle, reality exceeded every expectation.

Chase and Everest could hardly believe it when their brides’ timeless walk down the aisle finally ended as they stopped a few inches from their noses in front of the arch.

Mayor Goodway dabbed a tear from her eye as she proudly overlooked the four pups, her chicken nestled in her purse.

“Dearly beloved friends, family, neighbors, pups, and poultry,” she began.

“Bok!” said Chickaletta.

“We are gathered here today to witness not one, but two beautiful unions: Chase and Marshall, and Skye and Everest.”

Marshall sniffled before the ceremony had even properly begun. Chase softly smiled at him from across the arch, while Skye and Everest stood beside them.

“Marriage is a promise,” Mayor Goodway continued. “A promise to love one another through every mission, every mistake, every storm, every late-night rescue, and every unexpected surprise life may bring.”

At her last phrase, Chase and Everest both shot brief glances toward Rocky, Zuma, Rubble, and Tracker in the audience.

The four bridespups suddenly became very interested in the floor.

Mayor Goodway cleared her throat, smiling warmly as she faced the German shepherd.

“Chase, do you take Marshall to be your lawfully wedded husband, to love, honor, protect, and cherish for as long as you both shall live?”

Chase’s ears softened as he looked at the dazzling Dalmatian in front of him, his tail swirling in a circle as he placed paw on top of Marshall’s.

“I do,” he confidently replied.

“And Marshall, do you take Chase to be your lawfully wedded husband, to love, honor, protect, and cherish for as long as you both shall live?”

Marshall’s tail wagged beneath his flowing red dress as tears sparkled in his eyes.

“I do!” he exclaimed, his voice nearly cracking.

The mayor turned to the other couple.

“Everest, do you take Skye to be your lawfully wedded wife, to love, honor, protect, and cherish for as long as you both shall live?”

Everest squeezed Skye’s paw, her voice tender but steady as she gazed into her large, pink eyes.

“I do.”

“And Skye, do you take Everest to be your lawfully wedded wife, to love, honor, protect, and cherish for as long as you both shall live?”

Skye beamed so brightly it looked like she could take flight without her pup-pack.

“I do!”

Mayor Goodway sniffled, pressing a hand to her heart.

“Then by the power vested in me as mayor of Adventure Bay, and with Chickaletta as my witness, I now pronounce you husbands, and wives.”

“Bok bok!” Chickaletta declared.

Mayor Goodway chuckled.

“You may kiss your spouses!”

Chase and Marshall leaned toward each other simultaneously with Skye and Everest. In a second, a life-changing spark of magic erupted between the two couples’ lips as their four hearts became two.

Rocky and Zuma glanced lovingly at each other from the front row, holding each other’s paws before they looked back at the couples.

Rubble smugly grinned at Tracker, certain that he was the very reason they were kissing. Tracker rolled his eyes, nonetheless taking in the beautiful sight.

After a long and intimate few seconds, the two couples separated, their ears still flushed and their tails all wagging.

“Let’s hear it for the newlyweds!” Mayor Goodway exclaimed, igniting another round of applause in the crowd.

The four pups shared grateful smiles before turning to the audience as they stepped paw-by-paw back down the purple runner. Everest and Skye walked first, closely followed by Chase and Marshall, barely an inch of space between each pair.

Zuma and Rubble cheered again as they walked past them, only to immediately quiet when they received lighthearted glares for their mischief.

“C’mon, pups!” Ryder whispered to the bridespups, Katie by his side. “Let’s go take some photos outside!”

The four leapt down from their seats, following the two humans outside to join the newlyweds.

“Wow…” Chase finally spoke, squinting as his eyes adjusted to the sunlight.

“That was…I didn’t…expect that, Marsh.”

Marshall turned to face him, the direct sunlight now hitting him somehow making him look even more pulchritudinous.

“Didn’t expect to get married right next to Skye and Ev?”

“N-no! I mean, yes, that too! But…you in a dress…”

Marshall’s ears fell back slightly.

“O-oh…do you…like…”

“Marshall.”

Chase placed his paws on Marshall’s shoulders as he sat, their noses an inch apart.

“You look so beautiful, Marsh. I…I’m so proud to be your husband.”

“And I’m so proud to be yours, Chase!” the Dalmatian exclaimed, tears welling in his eyes again as he rubbed their noses together, letting out a small laugh full of joy.

Skye grinned too, brushing her head up against Everest’s chest.

“Heyy, watch it, princess!” Everest lovingly teased. “You’ll mess up your hairdo and my suit!”

Skye stuck her tongue out, blowing a raspberry at the husky.

“Don’t stomp on my wedding day!”

Our wedding day,” Marshall joked, giving the cockapoo a light punch in the shoulder.

The four suddenly looked up to see Ryder, Katie, and the four other pups walk out of the barn.

“Ryder!” Chase exclaimed, running over to get a headpat from their leader.

Ryder giggled, scratching each pups’ head.

“I’m so proud of you all…”

“Ryder…Katie…I have a question,” Everest said.

“Yeah, Ev…?” Katie responded, subtly glancing at Ryder.

“Did you all know about this?”

Katie gulped while Ryder slowly broke into a grin.

“No way…” Skye added.

“To be fair,” Rubble said. “It was all our plan, he just didn’t stop it!”

“And he switched Skye out for Zuma,” Chase audibly grumbled.

Zuma tilted his head at Ryder.

“Weally? I thought I did a pwetty good job on that mission!”

“And you did!” Ryder agreed, nervously grinning.

“But you did it,” Chase insisted.

Ryder gave a defeated sigh.

“Perhaps I helped a little…I mean, with all the antics Skye and Rubble did months ago, I figured this would be funny.”

Marshall giggled, licking Ryder’s cheek.

“It was pretty funny in the end!”

Katie smiled, taking out her phone.

“C’mon, pups, let’s get some wedding photos!”

In no time, both newly wed couples began to pose for Katie. Marshall’s silly faces eventually made Chase’s proud-but-serious look break into a large grin, while Everest and Skye posed together like they were auditioning for a fashion magazine.

Zuma insisted on getting second wedding pics with Rocky, to which he shyly agreed, before getting tongue-kissed by the excited labrador on camera.

“Okay, Rubble and Tracker! Your turn!” Katie shouted.

Tracker immediately blushed.

“¡¿Q-qué?! But we haven’t—mmphh!!”

Rubble firmly planted a kiss on his lips while dragging him to the photo shoot by the paw.

After a few pictures, all four couples squeezed their way into the camera lens for one big, happy photo.

Meanwhile, Farmers Al and Yumi and Mr. Porter had gotten the tables set up for dinner inside the barn.

Rubble salivated as he breathed in the smell of freshly cooked steak and liver wafting out of the barn. Although, only the pups seemed excited about the liver.

The audience cheered as both couples re-entered the barn, Marshall and Skye broadly grinning while Chase and Everest held proud smiles.

“Everest!” Jake exclaimed, standing up. “I’m…so proud of you!”

Everest’s ears folded back, visibly embarrassed.

“D-Dad…! Not in front of everyone!”

Skye giggled, poking the husky.

“Come on, it’s cute…” she whispered. “THANKS, JAKE!

The eight pups sat together at a rectangular table—Chase, Marshall, Rocky, and Zuma on one side, and Everest, Skye, Tracker, and Rubble on the other.

“Thanks, Mr. Porter!” Skye said as the man served them their fancy plates of food.

“My pleasure, pups! I’m happy to finally serve you all at the same time for once!” he joked, earning laughs from Skye and Rubble.

The pups wasted no time in digging their snouts into the food, nearly finishing by the time the humans had eaten a third of their plates.

“Hey,” Chase said over his shoulder to Rocky. “Thanks again for…the advice. You were right.”

Rocky smiled. “I knew if I survived the nerves of my wedding, there was no doubt you would.”

Chase softly chuckled. “You’d be surprised…”

After some heartwarming and playful conversation, everyone eventually finished their food.

“You know what this party needs?” Danny asked the crowd.

“What?” Jake replied.

“Music!”

Rubble’s eyes lit up, immediately jumping from his seat.

“May I present to you all: Adventure Bay’s number one DJ Rrrrrubble!!”

The pups howled as Rubble ripped a cover off his DJ set in the corner of the room, apart from Chase, who was clueless as to when he had planned this.

Everest grinned at Skye, helping her off her chair.

“Come on, princess, let’s reclaim your dancing queen title from your birthday party!”

Marshall’s ears perked up, giving a devious look at Chase.

“Oh, no…what is it now…?” the shepherd grumbled, nonetheless rising to his feet as Marshall stood up.

“Let’s show them what real dancing is!” the Dalmatian yipped, fire burning in his eyes.

“A dance battle!?” Zuma exclaimed.

Skye glanced at Marshall in surprise, before breaking into a grin too.

“Bring it on, boys!”

Chase whined as Marshall dragged him to the center of the room across from Skye and Everest. Rubble activated a disco ball he had apparently installed on the ceiling as he played high-tempo romantic music, with Tracker subtly bobbing his head to his side.

Within a moment's notice, Skye and Everest began dancing to Crazy in Love. Their clearly rehearsed and coordinated steps received cheers from the audience as they gazed into each other’s eyes. Everest soon spun the cockapoo in the air, earning a round of applause.

“Top that!” Skye shouted to the boys.

Marshall growled as he saw the smug looks on their faces.

“C’mon, Chasey, let’s do this!”

Chase’s eyes widened in terror. “D-do what?? I don’t have any choreography memorized! What song are we even—”

Marshall’s tail wagged harder as he heard the intro of Roller Coaster by Bon Jobi starting to play.

“Just follow my lead!”

Chase rolled his eyes. “So much for me being the dominant one…”

Marshall began to lip-sync to the song as he pranced around his new husband like a predator, his passionate eyes locked onto Chase’s the entire time as he mouthed the lyrics.

Chase’s heart skipped a beat as Marshall’s snout reached shy of just one inch away from his, before grasping his paws and pulling him forward onto his hind legs to dance.

“Hold on tight, slide a little closer, up so high stars are on our shoulders,” Marshall sang, for real this time, brushing his chest up against Chase’s while putting a paw on his shoulder.

Chase couldn’t help but break into a fervorous grin, as he followed along to Marshall’s steps, his ears burning red in love.

“Kiss by kiss, love is like a thrill ride,” the speakers sang, while Marshall began peppering Chase’s muzzle with frantic kisses, receiving awws from the crowd.

Skye grunted, burying her face in Everest’s chest.

“Y’know what, I’m feeling awfully tired to go on…”

Everest chuckled, licking the cockapoo’s forehead.

“It’s alright, Skye, you don’t have to be the queen all the time.”

Marshall beamed as he and Chase finished their segment, the shepherd completely out of breath.

The audience roared for the two while Skye and Everest defeatedly clapped.

“Nice job, you two,” said Everest, high-fiving Chase.

“Somehow, his clumsiness vanishes when there’s a dance battle,” Chase chuckled, followed by a long lick on the cheek and laugh from Marshall.

About an hour had passed of dancing, eating, and chatter amongst everyone in the barn.

“Has anyone seen Mr. Porter?” asked Rocky.

The pups looked around the room for the chef to no avail.

Suddenly, the barn doors opened, revealing Mr. Porter rolling in two large oval-shaped metal containers on a cart.

Skye’s tail instantly started wagging.

“I think I know what it isss!”

Rubble closed his eyes, breathing in the sweet smell.

“Who wants cakeee?” Mr. Porter shouted to the room before taking off the lids, revealing two enormous, three-layered cakes.

One was white painted with alternating stripes of red frosting with yellow flames and blue frosting with gold stars. Atop it sat two mini figurines of Marshall and Chase.

The other cake had pink bottom and top layers, with a teal-colored layer sandwiched between them. White frosting adorned the edges of each layer like snow. Little sculptures of Skye and Everest rested on top.

Chase, Marshall, and Everest were left speechless, while Skye bounced in excitement.

“Oh my god, Mr. Porter! Thank you, thank you!” the cockapoo exclaimed.

“Wait, is that what you wanted to tell us yesterday?” Marshall asked, his attention focused on his cake.

“Yeah! I have to say, yours looks almost as good as Evie’s and mine,” Skye giggled.

“They look incredible…” Chase muttered,

“They look amazing,” Everest said at the same time, before turning to Chase and laughing.

Mr. Porter took out two knives, slowly holding them in front of the two couples.

“You all deal with heavy machinery enough that I can trust you with some knives,” the man joked with a smile.

Marshall gently nudged Chase to take the knife, too nervous to take the knife himself with his clumsiness.

Chase smiled, carefully accepting the handle of the knife between his teeth.

Skye let Everest handle the knife immediately, fearing the thing could practically flop her on her face.

“One…two…three!” Mr. Porter chanted.

At three, Chase and Everest clenched their knives harder and cut large slices from the bottom layers, while the audience cheered.

“I hope you like strawberry!” Skye giggled, grinning at the light pink interior.

Everest placed the knife on the table before bending down to kiss her on the muzzle.

“I like anything you like, princess~”

Marshall wrapped his arm around Chase as soon as he set down the knife, abruptly pulling him in for a kiss.

Chase’s ears fell back from the sudden gesture before quickly pressing his lips harder against Marshall’s, a string of drool remaining between them as they separated.

“You know…” Marshall whispered. “I would’ve preferred strawberry too~”

Chase groaned before licking the backs of his ears, making him laugh.

“You complaining to the one who organized everything?”

Marshall snickered. “Everything but making sure we had our own venue!”

The pups walked back to their table as Ryder and Katie divided up the cakes, with Ryder serving a slice of Chase and Marshall’s cake to them, Rocky, and Zuma, while Katie served a slice of Skye and Everest’s to the girls, Rubble, and Tracker.

“Mmmh!” Rubble mumbled. “This is delicious! The sweet strawberry goes well with the tart blueberry, and that coconut buttercream icing tops the cake! Literally!”

Tracker giggled, licking the bulldog’s lips to get a taste himself.

“Guau, delicioso indeed!”

Zuma watched them, immediately tapping Rocky on the shoulder.

Rocky looked up. “Huh, what—”

In a second, Zuma smeared a smidge of frosting on his husband’s nose with his paw.

Rocky blankly stared back, though his ears were clearly flushed.

“Zuma…why?”

Zuma playfully smirked before leaning in closer to lick it off, making the mutt shudder.

“You…you’re lucky this idea turned out well!” was all he could muster saying.

“I knew it would work fwom the start!” Zuma replied, patting Rocky’s head.

My idea!” insisted Rubble.

“Oh, so now you’re proud of it?” Chase remarked, rolling his eyes.

“Maybe a little…actually, a lot! Oww!”

Rubble grunted as Tracker kicked him in the shoulder.

“What was that for!?”

Tracker shook his head. “Being dishonest with our friends!”

Everest sighed. “He has a point…you’re lucky it was us you pulled a secret double wedding on and not, I don’t know, Rocky and Zuma.”

“Hey!” Zuma chirped. “I wouldn’t’ve minded…shawing…with…”

The labrador’s eyes drifted toward Rocky before stuttering.

“Okay, yeah, no, that day was just for us!”

Rocky chuckled, licking him back with some frosting on his tongue.

Ryder smiled at the pups, then at Katie, before walking over to their table with her, their hands behind their backs.

“Before we finish dancing tonight, I think there’s one more tradition left.”

“Oh? What is it?” Marshall asked.

Skye, meanwhile, instantly started grinning.

Ryder and Katie whipped out red-and-blue and pink-and-teal flower bouquets respectively, handing them to the newlyweds.

“Oh my god!” Everest exclaimed, taking the flowers in her paws simultaneously with Skye. “They’re beautiful!”

Marshall inhaled the wonderful aroma from the petals, holding them lovingly between him and Chase.

“You know…the red and blue was supposed to be us, but now it’s looking more like just your police colors.”

“H-hey!” Chase barked. “I wasn’t…that wasn’t…”

Marshall chuckled, giving the shepherd a long lick across the snout.

“Don’t worry, Chasey, I love it. I love you.

Chase smirked, pecking the Dalmatian back.

“Wait, so, what’s the tradition?” Marshall asked.

“Bouquet toss!” yipped Skye, already hopping onto Everest’s shoulders.

“Oh, awesome!”

“On the count of three!” Katie exclaimed.

Marshall stood up in his seat, grasping the stems with his teeth.

“One…two…three!” Katie and Ryder both counted down.

Marshall and Skye tossed the bouquets in the air.

Whisssh…CHOMP!

The pups turned their eyes back down to two familiar pups with the flowers in their snouts.

Rubble, with Skye and Everest’s bouquet in mouth, looked wide-eyed at Tracker, who had Chase and Marshall’s.

“To be fair, you didn’t throw them very far,” Chase muttered.

“Well, well, let’s give a round of applause for the next wedding!” Skye loudly announced to the room, making Tracker’s ears flatten in embarrassment. “RUBBLE AND TRACKER!!”

Rubble spit out his bouquet, handing it to Tracker as he wiggled his eyebrows.

“So, cariño, where were you thinking? The mountain, the beach, a hundred people, five cakes…”

Tracker set the bouquets on the ground, letting out an exasperated sigh before laughing.

“How about the jungle? The scenery will be bonitísimo.”

“Ooh, good thinking, Rasi!” Rubble exclaimed. “So…maybe no fireworks. But still, balloons, an arch, a runway, Apollo the Super Pup comes—”

“Rúbel.”

Rubble felt a gentle paw on his shoulder, blushing.

“La selva is already beautiful…why would we need all that?”

Rubble stuttered, looking into the chihuahua’s intense brown eyes.

“T-that’s the most romantic thing I’ve ever heard…”

Tracker smiled, pulling in the bulldog for a tight hug and kiss.

The celebration carried on long into the evening.

Rubble continued pitching increasingly ridiculous wedding ideas to Tracker until they reached a modest compromise of a giant cake beside a waterfall. Marshall somehow convinced Chase to dance three more times. Skye and Everest disappeared outside for a few quiet moments beneath the stars. Rocky spent most of the night pretending to be annoyed by Zuma’s loud affection while secretly loving every second of it.

Above them, the moon rose over Adventure Bay as laughter echoed from the barn.

It hadn't been a perfect wedding.

It was chaotic, absurd, stressful, and completely unlike anything any of them could have ever imagined.

And no pup wouldn't have changed a thing.
