emo boys kissing.mp4

Summary:

In his deepest fantasies from months ago, Dan never imagined he’d be in this situation: his favorite YouTuber on top of him, looking at him through hooded eyelids, lips swollen, sexy even with faded Sharpie decorating his face.

It's 2009, and Dan Howell is in his YouTube crush's bedroom to film a Q&A video. They can't keep their hands off each other, even with the cameras rolling.

Notes:

Dan and Phil confirmed that there's a video of the PINOF kiss, and I've never opened my google docs so fast. First fic in years and first time writing for Dan & Phil, but I imagine I will write more soon! I hope you enjoy this :)

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

When Phil asked Dan if he wanted to film a Q&A in his room, Dan didn’t know how serious he was. He imagined the Q&A might be an excuse to get him on the train to Manchester or a harmless activity that they could fall back on if the visit turned awkward. They spent their first day together too consumed with one another to think about Youtube. After wandering for hours around Manchester, they finally ended up back at Phil’s home. With his parents gone, Phil wasted no time jumping on Dan, kissing him until any thoughts of a video were pushed far, far away.

In the morning, Phil mentions that they should actually film their video later.

“I’ll make a tweet asking for questions, and you can just ask me the best ones we get,” he suggests.

Hours later, they’re on the floor of Phil’s room, and Dan is scrolling through the replies to Phil’s post scribbling the funniest questions on a sheet of paper.

“Some of these are so random,” he comments. “Your fans are so strange.”

“Like you’re not also one of my fans. Do you have a question you wanna ask me?”

Dan acts like he’s thinking hard about it. “Hmmm. Do you want to kiss me?”

Phil laughs, but he’s leaning in and his lips are on Dan’s for what feels like the hundredth time in the last 24 hours. It’s just a quick kiss, nothing like some of the kisses they've already exchanged, but Dan’s heart flutters all the same.

“Let’s actually film this now,” Phil says when he pulls away.

Once they start filming, it’s easier than Dan thought it would be. It feels natural. He asks each question, and Phil answers with such quick wit that Dan is amazed. Before long, he almost forgets there’s a camera on them. It feels like their late-night Skype calls, deliriously trying to make each other laugh.

When he reads a question about Phil’s house, Dan decides it’s time to take over.

“Your house is actually so creepy, let’s do a house tour.” He grabs the camera from the tripod and begins the same tour Phil had given him yesterday. He plays up the strangeness of Phil’s house, desperate to hear Phil’s giggling as he follows him through the house.

The tour doesn’t take long, and Dan is still filming when they return to Phil’s room.

“Possibly the scariest thing in the house.” Dan pans the camera around to Phil, unable to stop himself from laughing.

Phil responds to the comment by raising both middle fingers, then doubling over in laughter.

They’ve only just met in person, but Dan’s already obsessed with the sound of Phil’s laugh. Everything about him is more intense in person than over Skype, and Dan’s almost overwhelmed by it. He’s spent months consumed by thoughts of Phil, but none of them compare to the reality of standing in Phil’s room. He places the camera back on the tripod and turns around to face Phil, whose eyes are firmly fixed on Dan. His eyes are such a piercing blue that his gaze feels heavy. Dan’s heart races as Phil looks him up and down.

“You think you’re sooo funny,” Phil taunts.

“Well, yeah.” Dan steps closer to him. “Don’t you think I’m funny?”

Phil reaches for his hand, pulling him closer so he can rest his hands on Dan’s hips. “Of course, I do.” His gaze falls to Dan’s lips, and his tongue darts out to wet his own.

Dan shouldn't be nervous. They’d kissed countless times already. Their first kiss felt like a ray of light, quick and so sweet, both of them grinning like fools when they pulled apart. After that, it was like a dam broke. They exchanged quick kisses between rounds of Crash Bandicoot and got so lost in a slow, passionate kiss that neither of them remembered the frozen pizza in the oven until the smoky scent of burning cheese wafted into the living room, dragging them away from the sofa they’d intertwined themselves on. They’d picked up where they left off later that night, sharing rough, wet kisses as hands wandered beneath the covers and they slipped each other’s clothes off. Dan grows hot at the memory and summons his courage of the night before.

Phil lets out a soft moan when their lips meet. His grip on Dan’s hips tightens, and Dan shifts closer, pressing their bodies together. His hands find Phil’s waist. The kiss starts slow, Phil’s lips so soft against Dan’s. Dan breathes heavily into Phil’s mouth as their lips slide against each other. Phil takes the opportunity to slip his tongue into Dan’s mouth. It’s a little uncoordinated, and their noses brush together with every movement, but Dan thinks it might be his favorite kiss yet. He grips Phil’s waist harder, a muffled moan escaping his lips.

Phil pulls away, and Dan laughs when he sees the smudged Sharpie on Phil’s nose.

“Oh no, your whiskers!”

“What, is my nose as smudged as yours is?”

“Yes, it is,” Dan giggles before he surges back in for a quick peck.

“Well, if it’s so rubbed off, what’s the harm in rubbing it off a bit more?” Phil moves them so Dan is backed against the bed, the backs of his legs pressed against the mattress.

Dan raises his eyebrows at Phil’s phrasing.

“Shut up!”

“I didn’t say anything!” Dan replies.

He starts to laugh, but Phil cuts him off with another kiss. It’s a bit deeper this time, and Dan quickly finds himself lost in the slide of Phil’s tongue against his and the sounds of their soft, muffled moans. Phil pushes Dan backwards onto the bed, crawling on top of him. He breaks the kiss for a moment, arranging his pillows to stand upright against the headboard. Once they’re adjusted to his liking, he kneels over Dan, who shifts so that his back is against the pillows. Phil settles so he’s straddling Dan’s lap. He runs his fingers through Dan’s hair, gazing at him with a soft expression on his face. Dan rests his hands on Phil’s hips, meeting his gaze with a soft smile that he’s sure looks dumb with the cat whiskers drawn on his face.

In his deepest fantasies from months ago, Dan never imagined he’d be in this situation: his favorite YouTuber on top of him, looking at him through hooded eyelids, lips swollen, sexy even with faded Sharpie decorating his face.

“You’re really hot,” Dan says. His head is spinning, and all they’re doing is kissing. His entire body feels like it’s on fire. He thinks that any moment now, he might wake up in bed at home, jolted awake from the best dream he’s ever had.

Phil smiles, then leans in. “You’re hotter.” Their lips meet in a quick yet firm kiss. “Much hotter in person than on Skype.”

Dan’s face grows warm. He slips a hand to cup Phil’s ass. It’s only been one day, but Phil’s body already feels familiar, like touching him is the most right thing Dan’s ever done. He wants to touch Phil everywhere, wants to know Phil’s body better than his own.

“I wanna kiss you all night,” he whispers.

Phil’s face is so close to his, their lips just barely touching. He cups Dan’s face with his palm. “Me too,” Phil says, but he doesn’t lean in to kiss him just yet. They stay there, inches apart, for what feels like minutes, breathing in each other. Phil smells like his shampoo, slightly fruity, tinged with the warmth of his cologne. It’s enough to make Dan dizzy with anticipation.

“So kiss me,” he pleads, and Phil wastes no time before leaning in for a bruising kiss. He captures Dan’s bottom lip between his, sucking on it gently before licking into Dan’s mouth. Dan’s head spins. He’s happy to let Phil take the lead, leaning back against the pillows as Phil grabs his face and deepens the kiss. He knows that Phil has kissed more boys than he has, but at this moment, he’s not bothered by the difference  in experience. He wants Phil to pull out every trick he’s learned over the years, to kiss him until Dan is a breathless mess.

Dan shifts Phil closer to him, and suddenly their crotches are aligned, and Phil is clearly enjoying making out just as much as Dan is, if the hardness that presses against his own is any indication. Dan moans at the contact. Phil pulls back, looking a little embarrassed.

“Um. We should probably finish filming the video,” Phil says, brushing at his fringe to smooth it back into place.

Dan’s head is still spinning. “Oh, I forgot we had more questions.” He laughs, and hopes that Phil doesn’t pick up on the hint of disappointment in his tone. He’d meant it when he said he wanted to kiss Phil all night. The phantom brush of Phil’s lips lingers, the faint tingle driving Dan insane.

Phil climbs off the bed and grabs the discarded sheet of paper from the floor. “Yeah, I think we only have a few more. Let's just finish this real quick, and then we can go back to kissing.”

Dan glances down at his crotch. “Give me a minute, then I’ll be good.”

Phil laughs, but it’s clear that he’s in the same state. “How bad are my whiskers rubbed off?” he asks.

Dan pushes himself off the bed and joins Phil closer to the camera. “Hmmm,” Dan examines Phil’s face. “Not too bad. I’m sure nobody will notice. How’s mine?”

Phil shrugs. “Eh. Like you said, I doubt anyone will notice.”

When they start filming again, Phil is noticeably more tactile. He laughs so hard at something Dan says that he doubles over, leaning into Dan’s lap. It’s adorable, and Dan wonders how Phil can go from being so sexy and passionate to this sweet, giggling mess so quickly.

They speed through the last few questions. When they’re done, Dan stares directly into the camera.

“This was the most fun I’ve ever had.” He means it to be funny, a bit sarcastic, but when he thinks about everything he’s experienced since getting off of the train in Manchester, there’s more truth to his words than he’d like to admit. He doesn’t get a chance to reflect on that; Phil tackles him to the ground, taking him by surprise. Dan’s arm wraps around Phil’s waist. He turns to look at him at the same moment that Phil leans forward to plant a quick kiss on his lips. Just as fast, he’s rolling off of Dan and sitting in front of the camera again.

Dan joins him, and they say goodbye to the viewers, making super cheesy hearts with their hands. Phil turns the camera off, then glances back at Dan with hunger in his eyes. “So, where were we?”

---

Days later, when Dan is back home, Phil tweets about editing videos. Dan types out a quick reply about wanting the unedited footage one day, and Phil replies that he’ll put it on a flash drive for him. The thought makes Dan feel giddy; they’ll have this shared footage that’s all their own, proof of the hours spent trying to make each other laugh and simply enjoying being in each other’s presence.

A few moments later, he receives a message from Phil. It’s a link, followed by a simple LOL O_o.

At first glance, it looks like the unedited footage of their Q&A, but Dan realizes the video is much shorter than the time they’d spent filming. He watches as he places the camera on Phil’s tripod, then turns around to where Phil is standing in the middle of the room. The memory of them filming is a blur. So much had happened in the span of just a few days that Dan is overwhelmed. He smiles as he watches Phil grab him by his hips, pulling them together. Cute, he thinks.

A second later, he’s watching himself kiss Phil. It knocks the air out of him. He can feel every beat of his heart as their bodies move together. They’re on the bed now, and Dan can’t make out their faces from this angle, but he watches as his own hands grab Phil’s ass. He can barely make out their soft moans. He breathes heavily as the video continues playing, and when they’re done kissing, he just wants to rewind the video and watch it over, and over, and over again.

He opens his messages with Phil and types out his response: LOL our own emo boys kissing video ^.^

Phil responds instantly: my dream in life has finally come true. be honest, how many times are u gonna watch it

Dan types out a quick one millionnnnnn, then restarts the video.
