(the screen suddunly cuts out and then back in the a calmer looking lia as she pulls in a deep breathe) "anyway i grew up in brockton raised by my mom and she worked all the time when i was growing up so i spent a lot of time watching tv.(Lia smiles a bit nostalgicly as she looks at the camera with eyes unfocused eyes) "I remember i was 5 watching tv and a hockey game came on. not just any hockey game either this was game 7 of the 2000 dockworkers cup
(A picture of a painted midnight blue hockey stick with 2000 dockworkers cup champions and the name brockton bay protectors . is shown across the screen before a paragraph of text is scrolled underneath)
The dockworkers cup is the legacey name for the BBHL championship awarded every year since modern playoffs began in 1938 .it was originoly a actual shaped gold cup until the late 1900s and the decline of brockton bay during which the originol cup was stolen and the midnight hockey stick was created insted as a replacment which is awarded to the winning team of the cup which after a year in the teams clubhouse is retired to the hall of fame for every individual team)
(Another picture is shown of 3 midnight hockey sticks on display in a room under a banner saying. BROCKTON BAY TERRIERS)
(The camera cuts back to lia and as she talks switches between her and game footage of game 7 of the 2000 DWC)"I manly remember just watching it a first cause it was something id never seen before ya know? Watching all these people fly across the ice smashing into eachother and trying to hit this puck into a net.but the main thing the thing that i will allways remember and that no hockey fan will ever forget .is the hit..she grins wide .
(The camera shows footage of the last minute of the game tied 2 to 2 a center of the arcadia wards is flying across the ice moving the puck clear up the middle before suddunly a brockton player comes flying across the ice and body checks them so hard they fly backwards and skid up the ice .the brockton player snags the puck on there stick and somehow avoids and weaves thrur the entire arcadia team before naling a slapshot into the upper left cornor of the net just as the time hits zero .the crowd erupts as the horn goes off and the player who made the shot glides around the ice the name COSTA-BROWN on the back of her jersey)
(The camera shows lia again)I remember watching that and i was hooked i knew then and there what i wanted(pictures of a young lia in a hockey jersey appear on screen quickly followed by more going thru the years of 6 to 16) "i remember i begged my mom to let me play i cryed i yelled i did everything i could to get her to let me and eventully she gave in.
(Lia grins wide into the camera) I remember i played growing up and all thru school knowing i wanted to make it big some day .knowing i wanted to hold that stick in my hands and feel like i just won the world. I played good enough to make it the the JBBHL .(A picture of lia in a dark blue uniform with longshoremen is seen) "And for 2 years i gave it everything i had I bled(picture of lia with a split lip and broken nose) "i hit"
(Footage of lia knocking a boy out is shown) "I scored" (picture of her scoring a goal) "and i won" (picture of the longshoreman holding up a replica of a boat with JBBHL champions 2011 on it)
"I guess i was good enough to make it"
