Work Text:
All anyone cares about nowadays are exams.
Exams. Exams. Exams!
There's only so much two teenagers - who actually wanna live a normal enough life - can take.
And that's ironic considering even the Hirano Taiga was getting fed up with the looming pressure of exams over his head.
He's studying hard as hell, yeah, but that doesn't mean he wants to do so every time he opens his eyes.
On that note, Hirano forced him and Akira Kagiura to stop studying one afternoon. "That's it! We need to get some fresh air," the blonde had told his boyfriend firmly, standing up.
The other yawned, standing as well, stretching his long arms and legs out. "Sounds good to me." Kagiura was never one to pass up a study break, no matter what it was.
But it was the weekend, so it didn't matter as much.
Hirano and Kagiura left the dormitories to catch a train to a crowded shopping area further into Tokyo.
"Wait, Hirano-san, are we here for something specific at all?" Kagiura asked, looking around to gaze into each shop's front window with displays front and center.
Hirano shook his head. "Nah; just trying to make our brains function properly." He said, spotting an accessory store. "Let's go start in there, Kagi-kun, and make our way around."
For a long while, the two of them hopped from store to store, trying different outfits on, buying small items, munching on little snacks they got for free sometimes or had to pay for. At some point, they began shopping for one another; purchasing things they thought their partner would like.
Multiple pictures were taken on both of their phones, but Kagiura ended up getting a Polaroid camera and would snap photos of Hirano when he least expected it.
"You're such an idiot." Hirano had hissed at the younger when he caught him for about the third time, but there was no real venom in his words.
That made Kagiura not stop anytime soon, until Hirano took the camera away, dragging along his pouty kouhai for a bit.
Regardless, they had an absolute blast just being ridiculous teenage boys.
When it was nearing sunset, Hirano and Kagiura got on the train to head back to the dormitories, still chatting about the day's events as they sat down on one of the benches in the train. There were probably about six inches of space between their bodies, bags on either side of them.
Kagiura frowned slightly.
"Come closer, Hirano-san," he insisted, gesturing with one of his hands. Hirano rolled his eyes, but complied, now three inches away.
Kagiura glared at the older one, who mocked him while scowling playfully, moving closer sloooooowly, leaving an inch of space.
Hirano looked at Kagiura, who's brunette hair caught the remaining rays of sunlight that were peering through the glass behind them. His green eyes glimmered, a few shades lighter because of the light's angles.
It made him look ethereal.
With a sigh, Hirano pressed their thighs together, side-to-side, giving the younger what he wanted.
Kagiura beamed (a look Hirano cherished more than anything) before placing his left hand over Hirano's right, making the blonde instinctively flip his hand over, their palms connecting as Kagiura interlocked their fingers gently, like they'd snap if he went too fast.
"Much better." Kagiura said, looking down at Hirano and smiling again.
The shorter blushed, scoffing under his breath. "You're just clingy," he replied, rolling his eyes, but looked up, smirking in return.
The smirk that made Kagiura's insides melt like butter, or a marshmallow sitting over a fire for too long.
He thought his boyfriend was beautiful already, which was why he is consistently taking an insane amount of photos of him, but the orange, gold hues of the lowering sun did wonders no camera could ever justify.
It was as if Hirano's bleached-blonde hair was glowing vibrantly while his sharp, steel blue eyes blazed with an intensity that was always there but softened around his significant other.
One side of his mouth was turned up; pink lips soft and oh, so kissable.
For a few beats, he contemplated laying one on his boyfriend right then and there.
But, instead of giving into those impulses, Kagiura kissed the back of Hirano's hand, exactly where he wanted to be as they reached their stop because he still got to see the pretty blush on Hirano's face, even though he tried to hide his flustered expression behind his free hand.
