Work Text:

Jamil often found himself wondering how he endin up in situations. The answer was always Kalim. When he had to skip basketball club to clean up after on of Kalims spontaneous celebrations. Or when Kalim spilled soup all I've his freshly washed robe — he still remembers frantically scrubbing it off before orientation. However, even after everything Kalim put him through he still had a soft spot for him. Or rather an extremely, extremely small tolerance for him.

As soon as Jamils final class was dismissed for the day he mad his way to their usual “meet up spot” as Kalim would call it. Jamil enforced the rule that Kalim had to walk to Scarabia with him after He had gotten lost and couldn't find his way back to scarabia. He couldn’t risk anything happen to Kalim, especially when he was well capable enough to prevent it.

When Jamil arrived at the soot they’d meet up at Kalim was nowhere to be seen. Jamil sighed, he thought of what could have happened. Since class got out not more than five minutes ago there was no chance anything terrible could have happened. The hallways would be far too crowded for something like that. Jamil snapped to the conclusion that Kalim had simply not left his class yet. So, Jamil headed to Kalims class, practical magic.

Jamil poked his head through the classroom door observing the empty classroom, Kalim was nowhere to be found.

Jamil sighed to himself. He had to find Kalim. Who knows where he could have gone in those 5 minutes!

Just as Jamil was turning to leave he saw one of Kalims classmates; Silver. Jamil walked up to the boy.

“Silver, may I ask if you’ve seen Kalim?” Jamil questioned.

“huh, Kalim? He ran off right away, I think…”

“Is that so? Well thank you, Silver.” So Kalim was in a rush. For what? From what he knew there were no parties today. Or maybe he had invited someone over. He really didn't want to cook dinner for someone else again.

As Jamil entered Scarabia he noticed something strange. Kalim wasn’t there talking to the other students, in fact he wasn't there at all. There was only one or two groups of kids with a couple people walking through the lounge. Kalims usual spark that practically lit up their dorm was removed. Jamil had to admit, it was weird seeing their busy, energetic dorm stripped of Kalims presence.

"Jamil, Kalim wanted me to tell you that he needs help in his room!" An underclassmen rushed to Jamils side.

"help? Oh dear, thank you for informing me." Jamil sighed to himself, knowing that the idiot had caused him this much trouble looking for him and was now in need of his help. Whatever it is, Jamil was sure it could have been avoided simply by Kalim not rushing off by himself.

Jamil knocked on the door before Kalim yelled "Jamil help meee!" from the other side. Jamil opened the door and stepped in, his jaw dropping to the underworld at the sight. Kalim fiddled with the zipper on his outfit. A beautiful, expensive looking satin top, it was a red that brightened Kalim. the edges of the top were lined with gold patterns. Gold beads decorated the hem of the top, they clicked together as Kalik struggled with the zipper. The sleeves were flowy see through red fabric, allowing for Kalims arms and matching jewelry to be shown. Strings of gold hung from Kalims stomach, connecting to the hem of his top, which showed off part of his stomach. His pants, colored the same as his top, were loose but Sanchez at the ankles. The pants had a gold design that seemed embroidered. A redcskirt rested on his hip, falling down the side of his legs.

"Jamil! Thanks sevens your here! I'm stuck!" Kalim whined rushingnover to him and gesturing to the zipper on his back.
"It was zipping an then... It wasn't!" Kalim attempted to tug on it again but Jamil stoppe him.

"If you continue doing that you'll break it." He guided Kalims hands away from the zipper and he took his own try at it. Magically, The zipper zipped up and Kalim beamed with excitement.

"Thank you!" He exclaimed giving Jamil a tight hug. And as much as Jamil didn't want to admit it, he blushed a little. Sure, Kalim hugs him all the time but this? This was different– At least Jamil thought it was. When Kalim pulled back from the embrace he backed up and spun around.

"Isn't it beautiful? Me and Vil were talking the other day and he said that I would look 'marvelous' in an outfit like this!" Kalim looked at Jamil, waiting to hear him voice his opinion.

"It does fit you rather well, Kalim." He said studying the golden embroidery, this work wa true art, how could Vil trust Kalim with it? Jamil was snapped back to reality by grabbing his shoulders and shaking him.

"Oh wow, I should throw a party and wear this! It would be a celebration of the new school year!" Kalim practically glowed in joy.

"Kalim, it's too sudden to-" But before Jamil could talk some sense into him he was already out the door yelling about having a party to their fellow classmates.

Jamil couldn't lie to himself, Kalim looked good, stunning even. Jamil just stood there in the doorway for a moment, admiring the sight of Kalim running around showing off his outfit.

Maybe Jamil is gay, he thought.

Kalim tripped on his pants and faceplanted into the pillows in the lounge.

Nevermind.
