"Why don't you stay for a drink?" Magnus asks making Alec turn to look at him. "Sure." Alec knew it was a bad idea but somehow trusts Magnus.
Third Cocktails in Magnus and Alec are sitting on the couch staring into space. "I never drink... but I trust you." Alec says making Magnus look at him shocked. "You flatter me." Magnus says smiling then it drops curiosity taking over.
"Why don't you drink?" Alec looks at him then back at the wall. "Abusive alcoholic father and controlling mother..." Alec eyes saddened. "I'm afraid I'm gonna turn out like them." Alec then looks at Magnus who looks at like he understands so he softly smiles.
By the fifth one Alec is crying and Magnus panicked because he didn't know what to do. "Alexander?" "Sorry." Alec says wiping his eyes.
"Wanna talk about it?" Magnus offers giving the choice to Alec. "What do I do? I mean Clary and Jace is off almost getting themselves killed me having to save their asses and Isabelle who know the consequences just went along with them... What I'm I doing wrong?" Magnus was about to say something but couldn't find the words.
"Im never gonna be enough! Me and Jace had a fight today earlier you know he's right though that my parents were right my best isn't enough." Alec sighs looking away from Magnus eyes.
"Trained to be warrior, soldier... yet I never am enough. Magnus are you mad at me?" Alec then looks at Magnus chest then his eyes.
Magnus sighs. "No not at you, you didn't do anything wrong you were just doing what you thought was right and protecting your siblings... Alexander you grew up protecting everyone trained at a really young age and abused and controlled... You are enough you just never had anyone tell you or show the love you deserve. "Magnus says holding Alec's hand and the other wiping tears away.
"You're not weak you're strong you just held in a lot of pain and guilt... Wait how did you know I'm angry?" Alec then looks away.
"Alexander?" Alec looks back at him and sighs." Is this what being drunk feels like?"Magnus nods.
Alec softly smiles." I'm not like the others... I have an ability but my parents drilled it in my head not to tell anyone or I get punishment for it.. "Magnus nods understanding.
"If you don't mind me asking what punishment?"Alec looks down at their interlocked hands." Whips the ones you can't heal from."Alec hears Magnus heart stop for a second he looks at Magnus who looks heart broken.
"You ok? Your heart stopped for a second." Alec can see the confusion on Magnus face. Alec feels like he can tell him anything." I can hear heartbeats!" Alec blurted then quickly covers his mouth shocked which he dropped his glass of drink.
Magnus was about to say something when the doors barged open scaring Alec.
It was Alec's dad's assistant the worse Shadowhunter to ever cross. Alec started backing away shaking. "Dad sent you?" the guy nods smirking and brings out the whip that when Magnus knew how severe the punishment is.
"I don't believe you were welcomed in my home." Magnus says standing beside Alec. The guys looks at him then at Alec.
"Two stones one bird nice... Your daddy is gonna pay extra." he said which something in Alec snaps standing in front of Magnus no longer scared.
"You have a weak heart." Alec says which causes the guys to freeze. "You're dying that why you need the money." Alec hand one of his hand hold Magnus behind him he let go of Magnus an arrow pops out.
"I can speed up the process." Alec says coldly which sent chills to both guys.
Alec then gets a whip to his cheek but Alec didn't react. "Get out of here." Alec says to Magnus who hesitates but nods.
Alec runs to the guy who name is David they start fighting but the Magnus comes back with Jace and Isabelle to see Alec being choked by the David's whip.
"Ah look who's back." Alec didn't react the siblings and Magnus tried coming closer. "ALEC!"
"Ah! Ah! No no no come any closer I hurt him more." Alec then head bett the guys behind him loosening the whip he then turns around and kicks him hard which sent David flying back.
"Alec's too angry." Jace says to the others. "Alec!" Alec turns to his sisters voice.
Magnus shakes his head. He was about to get to them but then the whips goes to his ankles he gets knocked down making him grunt.
"You think you guys can win? Your daddy is paying me to do this you know what happens when you don't obey... tsk.. should we show them."
Alec was shaking his head no but then his shirt gets ripped off of him. They see Alec's whip scars." Begging for your daddy to stop.. crying... screaming... fighting back.. but the abuse didn't stop you dissociated so hard you didn't talk couldn't feel the pain anymore.. this scars for protecting your secret and your siblings." Alec was close to dissociating but he could hear four heart beats breaking besides the man on top of him.
He looks over to see Jace glassy eyes, Isabelle crying covering her mouth and Magnus ready to strike.
"Magnus I wouldn't do that if I were you... wait do you still have the agony rune?"Everyone freezes Alec looks back at him.
"You do." David was smirking." It's been while sense we've used this." Alec started to fight him off but then the pain surge making him tilt his head back clenching his eyes and jaw.
"Magic away or I'll keep going." Magnus stops his magic David then stops. Alec sweating and panting.
"Hm... Alec you can handle that.. then why tell your secret to Magnus you knew you were going to get punished." Alec opens his eyes.
"I trust him." Alec says with full honesty.
"Hm maybe physical pain doesn't work anymore but emotional pain scars." David then gets off Alec.
Alec back hugs the guy. "You are not touching him and my family." Alec was again cold. He turns David against the wall choking him. Everyone can see Alec's back which has a lot more whips scars.
"Don't ever lay a finger on them." an arrow appears and stabs David in the stomach making him grunts.
David then pushes him off kneeling down holding his stomach. He then jumps at Alec knocking him down Alec can hear his anger.
David use the stele on Alec's agony rune which Alec never has felt before more pain making him scream fighting.
Alec continues pushing the arrow deeper in his stomach every push he receives more pain.
He stops screaming and fighting he was dissociating. Magnus used his magic chaining him up and portals him to the clave with a message.
The three of them runs to Alec who staring into space crying and sweating. Magnus tries to heal him. "I can't heal him." Jace and Isabelle looks at each other.
"He blocked me out.." Jace says "I couldn't feel what he was feeling he blocked our bond." he adds.
"He's still protecting you." Magnus says.
Alec finally comes back to reality Magnus holding him to his chest Jace on his lefts and Isabelle at his right.
"Wheres he?" Alec asks." the clave is taking care of him." Magnus replies back." Did he hurt you guys?" Alec asks worried.
They all smile." No he didn't get a chance to because you stopped him." Isabelle says which makes Alec smiles and sighs of relief.
