Chapter Text
- ZE’S POV -
The feeling of death is a strange thing.
One minute, you’re lying there holding the hands of your loved ones, and in the next, you’re just in a void.
That’s how it was for Ze, anyway.
He recalls seeing two people at his bedside, his face wet with what can be assumed to be tears.
It wasn’t painful. It was more so… bittersweet. A life taken into the grasp of Death himself too early.
He’s floating, at peace once again.
Slowly, as he drifts around, the sky’s iridescent surface begins to morph into a soft, light blue, with clouds speckling across the horizon.
‘Blue..? The sky? Clouds?’ Ze’s thoughts begin to race as he can suddenly FEEL. He’s alive, he’s breathing, and he’s rapidly falling towards a green landscape. Before he has any time to think, his back slams onto the grassy ground with a sickening thud. Ze curses and attempts to stand up, but his spine begins to flare up with immense pain, like white-hot fires licking his nerves. Sputtering out a pained hiss, he lies back down on the ground.
“Fuck..” Ze groans as he lies there, splayed out like a starfish. He lets out a heavy sigh before glancing around his surroundings, to his best ability. Shock begins to show on his face, overriding the pain as he realizes the trees, the clouds- hell, even the sun- are all square.
Suddenly, it dawns on him where he is. He’s in Minecraft. ‘Holy shit, he’s in MINECRAFT.’ Horrified, he lifts his hand to his face, bracing himself for the worst. He lets out a shaky sigh in relief, seeing his regular hand in front of him. He lets his arm slump back down on the ground, a dull burning sensation in his shoulders.
“I thought I died?..” He mumbles to himself quietly, his panic slowly fading into confusion. Ze lies there for a bit, just letting the grass blades sweep over his face in the wind, deep in thought. ‘If I’m in a Minecraft world,’ He ponders, ‘then Regect and Moe might be here.’

Some time later, Ze finally builds up the courage to try standing up again. Grimacing, preparing himself for pain, he pushes himself up into a sitting position. Realizing that he no longer seems to have any broken limbs, he stands up with a grunt. ‘Regeneration..’ Ze muses, seemingly thankful for Minecraft logic at the time.
With a new pep in his step, Ze begins on a journey to explore and gather resources to prepare to find Moe and Regect.

Stars begin to glimmer and dance across the sky as night falls, with the soft chatter of squirrels and birds settling down for the night. Crickets have begun to chirrup as Ze pushes his way past the overgrowth of a forest, searching for any sign of a pathway out.
His eyes rapidly scan the forest for a source of light, catching sight of a soft glow past a thicket of vines. He cuts past them with his makeshift wooden sword, and behind them, there’s a lantern overhanging a dirt pathway.
Ze feels a glimmer of hope in his chest as he begins to follow the dirt path.
What feels like eons later, he sees an opening in the dense forest, showing the starry night sky in its full glory.
Running towards the opening, he can spot a house in the distance. A very, very familiar house. His home. Ze begins to sprint towards the house, calves burning from hours of walking.
