Chapter Text
The group of friends sit around a picnic table. Twilight (with Spike next to her, a notebook in hand) excitedly tells everyone about the flyer she found.
Twilight: “Okay, listen up! In one week, the town is hosting a big Talent Show. Music, art, comedy—anything goes. It’s open to everyone!”
Rainbow Dash: “Finally! A chance to show off my awesome guitar solo skills.” (She air-guitars dramatically, making Fluttershy jump.)
Fluttershy: “Oh… um, I was thinking of maybe… singing? But only if that’s okay…” (She hides behind her hair until Sunset pats her shoulder encouragingly.)
Sunset Shimmer: “That’s perfect, Fluttershy. You’ve got a beautiful voice.”
Pinky Pie: “I’m gonna juggle cupcakes while telling jokes that only make sense to squirrels! Just kidding… or am I?” (She wiggles her eyebrows.)
Rarity: “Darling, I shall design and model an entire fashion line inspired by—what else?—the magic of friendship!”
Applejack: “Guess I’ll play the banjo like Granny taught me.” (Her phone rings. She checks the caller ID, then sighs.) “Sorry, girls. That’s Big Mac. I need to head back to the farm—family needs my help. I’ll call y’all later.”
Twilight: “Of course, Applejack. Family comes first.”
Fluttershy: “Take care, Applejack…”
Everyone: “Bye!”
As Applejack leaves, Pinkie’s bright blue eyes catch Rarity’s. Rarity tries to act casual, but her gaze lingers on Applejack until she disappears down the path. Pinkie tilts her head, smirks knowingly, but says nothing.

Scene 2: Walking Home
Pinkie Pie bounces beside Rarity.
Pinkie Pie: “Sooooo… somebody—sure couldn’t stop watching Applejack walk away.” (She singsong teases.)
Rarity: (flustered, clutching her purse) “Wha—Pinkie Pie! I don’t know what you’re implying. I was merely being polite, ensuring our friend got off safely!”
Pinkie Pie: “Mhm, suuure. Polite. And maybe just a teensy bit smitten?”
Rarity: (blushing, turning away) “Absolutely not! Applejack is… rugged, hardworking, honest… and—oh bother.”
Pinkie beams, looping her arm through Rarity’s.
Pinkie Pie: “Don’t worry, Rare-Bear. Your secret is safe with me! For now.”

Scene 3: Twilight’s House – Brainstorming Night
The group (minus Applejack) gathers at Twilight and Spike’s place. Spike munches chips on the couch.
Spike: “If I’m helping Twilight with her magic tricks act, I want top billing as her assistant. I’ll wear the cape, I’ll pull the rabbit—boom! Instant crowd pleaser.”
Twilight: “You’ll get credit, Spike. Just… don’t eat the rabbit this time.”
Spike: (mouth full of chips) “…No promises.”
Everyone laughs. Sunset takes the lead organizing practice schedules. Rarity is quieter than usual, sketching designs absentmindedly. Pinkie notices and nudges her with an elbow.
Pinkie Pie (whispering): “Sketching for the show… or sketching somebody with freckles and a hat?”
Rarity (hissing): “Pinkie Pie!”

Scene 4: Apple Family Farm (cutaway)
Applejack is hauling crates with Big Mac. She pauses for a moment, looking out at the town lights in the distance, thoughtful.
Big Mac: “You’re thinkin’ ‘bout your friends.”
Applejack: “Eeyup. Just hopin’ I’ll be ready in time for the show.”
Big Mac gives her a knowing smile.

Scene 5: Cliffhanger
Back at Twilight’s, Pinkie Pie gathers everyone to share progress.
Pinkie Pie: “Looks like we’ve all got our acts ready to sparkle and shine!” (She grins, glancing at Rarity.) “Though some of us might be inspired by… more than just talent.”
Rarity gives Pinkie a death glare, but her blush gives her away. Sunset raises an eyebrow curiously, Rainbow smirks suspiciously, and Twilight tilts her head in confusion. Fluttershy doesn’t notice, busy feeding her pet bunny.
The camera lingers on Rarity biting her lip, glancing at her sketchpad where she’s drawn a design clearly inspired by Applejack’s style.
