Ava was no longer a good person, not with the amount of lives she'd sacrificed to that dreadful ocean.
She cared; despite what others believed. Even if they were all fanatics and criminals, they were still Human and that was rare these days.
At first she'd learned their names, known who had watched be swallowed by those unforgiving depths. She hadn't been able to handle that for long, needed to grow colder— bitter to the world they were damned to.
Eventually she would stop looking them in the eye. Stop memorizing their features. Stop one thing from haunting her dreams
