Lily and James Potter had many projects in mind after they graduated from Hogwarts and among them was to have children... and they did on the 31st of July 1980. Lily, after hours of screams, pains and agony, gave birth to two adorable boys : the first born was Alexander Charles Potter and the youngest was Harold 'Harry' James Potter.
People celebrated the birth of the two nerborns. Sirius Black and Remus Lupin, James' old friends, became the twins' godfathers with Sirius being Harold's whie Remus was Alexander's.
Unfortunately for our couple, things went to the worse after an unexpected events... a prophecy made by a women seer named Sybil Trelawney.
'The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches... born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies... and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not... and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives... the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies..."
Albus Dumbledore, the greatest Wizard since Merlin(but also the Headmaster of Hogwarts, Supreme Mugwump of the. International Confederation of Wizards, Chief Warlock of the Wizangament and the Leader of the Order of the Phoenix), told the parents of the two possible children of the prophecy (Harry and Neville Longbottom, son of Alice and Frank Longbottom) of it. Following this, the parents all went into hiding, with the help of some friends.
Which bring us to present...
In Godric's Hollow, protected by wards, Lily and James were playging with their one year old sosn when they felt the wards around their hiding place triggering in alarm. Instanly, James was on his feet, wand at the ready and a determined yet horrified expression on his face.
"Lily ! It's him ! Take the boys and go ! I'll hold him off !" he shouted to his wife as he went to face the intruder.
Hearing those words, the redhead froze in shock, horror and fear as she realized how the enemy had found them : Pettigrew had betrayed them ! She should have made Sirius or Remus into their Secret Keeper not this traitorous rat, she thought with regret and shame.
However, it was not the time for regrets.
Shaking her head to regain her senses, Lily now looked on with determination as she looked down at her babies before rushing her way upstairs to head straight for the nursery. Once, she was inside the room, the redhead quickly put the boys into their cribs before rushing back to close the door and locking it.
However, despite this, Lily knew that it was over: she knew Voldemort will not spare any of them and she felt tears beginning to fell down her cheeks. However, when her beautiful emerald eyes landed on her babies in their crib, her fear turned into determination : she will not let this Dark Bastard kill her precious boys ! Even if she has to die for it !
"My sweet little boys..." she began to say before stopping when, suddenly, a sickening thud was heard coming from downstairs.
After a few seconds, she realized what it was and her heart clenched in pain and sorrow: James Potter, her beloved husband, had fallen. Tears fell down her cheeks once again as a quiet sob escaped her lips but quickly, Lily forced herself to smile as she looked down at at her sons, who were cooing innocently at her.
"My sweet boys… Remember that mommy loves you… now and always~" she whispered with pure maternal love before placing her right hand on Harry's forehead and her left hand on Alexander's.
Suddenly, a light illuminated the nursery after the door opened, causing Lily to swiftly turn around to face whoever it was.
And to her shock and horror, it was none other than the darkest wizard of the century and the current Dark Lord : Lord Voldemort.
The snake-faced wizard was standing in the doorway with an expression of curiosity on his pale white face before he took a slow step into the room just as Lily raised her arms protectively over the crib where her babies were.
"Step aside and hand over the boys !" the Dark Lord ordered her in a stern tone despite the mocking smile on his nose-less face.
"NO ! Please, not my sons !" Lily pleaded for her sons' life.
"Stand aside, you silly girl !" Voldemort sneered at her as his temper was turning low.
"NO ! Take me instead ! Just please, not my babies !" Lily once again plead for the life of her babies while standing defiantly in front of the Dark Lord.
Voldemort's patience broke as he swiftly pointed his wand at the defiant mother in front of him.
"AVADA KEDAVRA !" the noseless man shouted loudly as he cast one of his favorite spells.
A sickening green light erupted from the tip of the wand before heading toward Lily's form. A scream of pain and agony escaped the woman's lips when the curse reached her and a bright light enveloped the room for a moment. Once it dimmed, Lily Potter was laying on the ground, lifeless.
"Sorry Severus, but I can't keep my promise to you..." the Dark Lord whispered with disappointment before making his way to the crib.
As the Snake-faced Dark Lord stood over the crib, baby Harry and baby Alexander were looking up at him with curiosity shining in their eyes. Harry inherited his mother's eyes and his father's dark hair while his twin was the carbon copy of his mother with hazel eyes.
The Dark Lord looked at the babies with pity and slight regret but quickly, he shook his head to get rid of those thoughts as he laveled his wand at the boys. He didn't know which one is the prophetized one so the best thing to do in this siituation was to kill both boys and be done with it. After a moment of thought, the Dark Lord pointed his wand at the older of the two : Alexander.
"I'm sorry for this... but I cannot allow anything or anyone to stop my plans..." the Noseless Man said in soft tone before shouting loudly
"AVADA KEDAVRA !"
As the green curse shot straight toward its target, a small light suddenly erupted from the crib, briefly revealing runes while the twins innocently looked at the coming green spell. But then, when the spell was about to reach its target, something unexpected happened: it ricocheted off an invisible barrier and was sent back at Voldemort !
The Dark Lord, stunned by this turn of event, didn't even have time to scream when his own spell destroyed him, tearing part of the chamber in the process.
A few moments later, as the smokes was dying out and the silence was returning in Godric's Hallow, the scene fell on the crib where laid two unconscious one year old boys. Both of them had lost consciousness due to the explosion caused by Voldemort's spell and both looked relatively unharmed... except Alexander who now had a little scar on his forehead : a lightning bolt.
Unknown to both him and his brother, this scar will change their life forever.

(1 November 1981 ; Location : Number 4 Private Drive, Surrey, England)
Meanwhile, Albus Dumbledore was seen walking out of a forest near the street of Private Drive, passing past a tabby cat standing next to a shed. The Old Man was depressed as tonight, he had lost two former students of his... two people he grew to love fondly as if they were his own children. Lily and James were good people and yet, like many, they were killed by Voldemort. In their deaths, they left behind two boys, now orphans... but not without family members.
Shaking his head to regain his senses, the Old Wizard turned his head to look at the cat before smiling slightly while saying
"I should have known that you would be here, Minerva..."
The cat stared at him for a moment before turning into a stern looking mature woman with a tall hat and emerald robes.
"Good evening, Professor Dumbledore..." she began to say in a respectful tone before it turned into a sorrowful one as she asked softly
"Are the rumours true, Albus? Are the Potters truly... dead?"
The small smile on Dumbledore's face as sorrow took place instead "I'm afraid so, Minerva... Voldemort attacked them... they were betrayed by Black..."
"I can't believe Sirius betrayed the Potters ! I thought he was their friends !"
Dumbledore npdded in agreement, also stunned by Sirius' betrayal but then, he focused on the matter at hands.
"Minerva, there is at least good news : the boys are alive... Hagrid is bringing them as we speak.."
At those words, Minerva looked happy but then she frowned "Is it truly wise to trust Hagrid with something as important as this ?"
Dumbledore chuckled at this, understandig his colleague's point of view. Hagrid is a kind soul but he has tendencies to make... mistakes.
"Ah, my friend, I would trust Hagrid with my life !"
Minerva opened her mouth to say something in response to this claim but didn't have the time to when a sound caught their attention :a motor sound. Silently, the two professors looked up to where the sound came from only to see a flying motorcycle coming down from the air, heading toward them.
The motorcycle soon landed on the ground and stopped working. Riding it, was a large man with shoulder length black hair and beard: it was none other than Rubeus Hagrid. At the sight of the man, Dumbledore smiled warmly while Minerva allowed a small smile to appear on her stern face.
"Good evening, Hagrid... I hope there was no problem on the way ?"
Picking up something in his large hands, the half-giant then turned around to face the two before shaking his head, answering
"No, sir ! Little tykes fell asleep just as we were flying over Bristol !Try not to wake them !"
Then, Hagrid handed the boys to Dumbledore and Minerva with the former holding Harry and the latter Alexander. Smiling down at the little bundle in her arms, Minerva then, turned her eyes to the Old Wizard before speaking
"Albus, do you really think it's safe, leaving them with these people ? I've watched them all day... and let me tell you, they're the WORST sort of Muggles I have ever seen ! They really are..."
Thankfully, before she could start ranting, Dumbledore quickly stepped in, speaking in a calm tone.
"They are only the only family they had..."
However, Hagrid stepped in "Actually, sir, James is alive..."
Sharply, the other two turned their heads to stare at the half-giant with surprise.
"What ?" Minerva whispered in shock and pleasure as hope filled her being.
"Are you sure, Hagrid ?" Dumbledore asked the man with a serious, yet, pleased expression.
Hagrid explained that Sirius Black was also at Godric's Hollow, crying over James' body... only to stiffen for a moment before waving a wand at the dead man. A second later, under the stunned eyes of Sirius and Hagrid, James Potter gasped loudly, proving to them that he was alive ! Instantly, James was pulled into a tight hug by a tearful Sirius before explaining to them what happened : apparently, Voldemort wanted him to suffer by killing his family while keeping him alive !
However, once the explanations were done, the three had rushed upstairs to see Lily and the boys. James and Sirius were heartbroken to find the woman's dead body and the former showed it by crying in sorrow while the latter shed tears. Hagrid, him, took a moment to cry over Lily's body before picking up the boys.
Of course, James and Sirius objected but after Hagrid explained to them that he was sent by Dumbledore, they backed away before leaving the area to track the Traitor... aka Peter Pettigrew. Sirius gave his motorcycle to Hagrid before he and James left to track the rat.
To say Dumbledore and Minerva were shocked was understandable. They staid a long moment silent but then, they regained their senses.
"Oh, Lily..." Minerva whispered in sorrow as tears fell from her eyes.
Dumbledore, him, was also saddened by those news but at least, the boys weren't total orphans. Speaking of which, seeing that the Dark Lord perished while trying to kill THEM, then it must mean that one of them was the Child of the Prophety ! Quickly, he looked at the boys before examining them carefully.
Alexander, the older twin, had a lightning-bolt scar on his forehead while his younger twin, Harold was clear of any scars or marks. Eying Alexander's scar, Dumbledore instantly detected a remnant of dark magic residing in it.
"It seems young Alexander is the one who vanquished Voldemort... his scar is proof of that... he is the Boy-Who-Lived !" Albus declared after a moment, his expression serious and firm.
Hagrid and Minerva, hearing this, looked shocked but then, the Head of Gryffindor frowned as concern enveloped her being.
"If it's true, then this boy will be famous in our world... everyone would know of his actions !"
"Indeed, but more importantly, he would be a target for Death Eaters... I'm pretty sure they wouldn't waste an opportunity to take revenge for Tom..."
Everyone shivered at those words while glancing at a peacefully sleeping Alexander. Then, Minerva's eyes landed on the bundle in her arms, the one contained Alexander's brother, Harold.
"What about his brother ?"
"He will be famous too... he will be the Boy-Who-Lived's brother...However, I'm afraid of how he would react to his brother having more attention that him... In the past, envy and jealousy have led many men to commit many bad things..." Dumbledore said in a somber tone.
"You are right, Albus... but you aren't thinking about separating them, are you ?" Minerva asked him with slight indignation.
"Minerva, think about it : if you let young Harry lives with his family, he might become jealous and later, we might deal with another Dark Lord ! It is NOT a fatality but it MIGHT happen !" the Old Wizard explained in a patient tone.
Minerva looked conflicted for a moment before sighing deeply "I trust you know what you are doing, Albus..."
"I'm doing this for the Greater Good of our world, Minerva... and our world is not ready to deal with another possible dark lord..." Dumbledore said in a soft tone filled with regret.
Minerva nodded in reluctant agreement and acceptance to this claim but then looked down at the baby in her arms
"But are you sure it is a good idea to leave him HERE !"
"He will grow away from his brother's fame and I'm sure Petunia will cast aside his prejudices for the sake of family..." Dumbledore answered with conviction.
"I hope you are right..." Minerva grumbled with a sigh.
After that, Dumbledore ordered Hagrid and Minerva to take Alexander back to Hogwarts while he staid behind with young Harry. The two obeyed... but not without saying goodbye to the sleeping baby as they knew they won't see him until he received his Hogwarts Letter.
Once the two had left with the older twin, Dumbledore looked down at young Harry in his arms before approaching the house that was Number 4 before gently putting the bundle on the doorstep. Picking up his wand, Dumbledore whispered incantations and a ward appeared around the house.
"This would protect the bo and his relatives from Death-Eaters..." The Old Wizard whispered to himself before taking a letter out of his robe and placing it on the baby, who was still sleeping peacefully, unaware of what was happening.
"Good luck, Harry Potter... I hope to see you again at Hogwarts..." Dumbledore whispered with a tearful smile to the baby before disappearing with a crack like sound, leaving the bundle behind.
-/(The next morning)/-
The sun was rising gently in the sky as the night gave way to day. The darkness transformed into light thanks to the rays of the sun, and living beings awoke from their slumber to begin a new day.
Suddenly, at Privet Drive, a piercing scream echoed through the air, startling birds that flew from their perches with frightened cries. The scream came from Number 4.
Who was responsible ?
It was a tall, very thin blond woman with a long neck and an angular face. She looked like a thin horse... or a giraffe. She was Petunia Dursley, sister of Lily Evans Potter... and right now, she was looking at the bundle on her doorstep.
"Petunia ? What is it ?" a masculine voice erupted from the inside of the house before a large form stepped out of it to approach the shocked woman.
The form was none other than Vernon Dursley, Petunia's husband. He was a big, beefy man with a large face, thick, dark hair, a bushy black moustache with hardly any neck and mean looking people, he would look exactly like a walrus.
"I found this on our doorstep..." Petunia said while looking at the baby.
Following his wife's gaze, Vernon's eyes widened at the sight of the bundle.
"A baby ? Who in their right mind would abandon a baby in this weather ?" he commented with a disguted growl.
"I don't know..." Petunia said before noticing something : a letter.
Frowning, she picked it up before reading it. As she went through the lines, her expression grew thunderous and once she finished, she completely lost it
"HOW DARE THEY ?!" she qscreamed loudly in anger and rage while turning her head toward the baby (who hasn't woken up yet from his slumber) with a murderous expression on her face.
"Pet ? Why are you angry ?What's going on ?" Vernon called his wife out with concern, wondering what had angered her like that.
"This letter says that this... thing is one of my sister's brats !" Petunia spat with disgust before adding
"Apparently, she and her husband were attacked last time and she got killed... the man survived but he can only take care of one child for the time being... The author of this letter wants us to raise him !"
Needless to say that Vernon was angry once his wife finished talking.
"How dare they ? Forcing us, normal folks, to raise one of their kind like that ! I don't want THAT THING to taint my son !"
"I agree with you, dear ! We are NOT going to keep that vermin here !" Petunia said in agreement to her husband's words.
Here you can see the true nature of the Dursleys.
Vernon was an arrogant, surly, combustible, blustering, abrasive, petty-minded man who hated people who were different than himself. With people like beggars, he would feel no sympathy. He would judge people based on their wealth or their status.
To be honest, he was no better than his wife, Petunia : she was nosy, spiteful, jealous, hostile and repressed woman who hated anything that wasn't normal (to her opinion at least). Like her husband, she had no sympathy for people who she deemed unworthy.
Both of them had a strong hatred toward one thing in particular : Magic. They see it as unnatural and monstrous and magical folks as scums. And right now, they had to deal with one of those abominations ! However, no wanting to make a scene like that outside their home, they reluctantly picked the bundle before bringing it inside.
Vernon then placed the bundle in a cupboard under the stairs before locking the door. Once it was done, he went to find his wife who was in the kitchen, passing.
"What should we do with it ?" Petunia asked her husband once he entered the room.
"What about dumping it to an orphanage ?"
"It won't work...You know how bad orphanages are... if that thing die, his kind will come look for us !"
"What about the church ?"
"Do you really want to teint a sacred place with its... freakishness ?"
"No, you are right..." Vernon said with a reluctant nod.
A long silence followed, until an idea popped into Petunia's mind.
"Wait, what about that friend of yours ?"
"Which one ?"
"The scientist...what was his name again..."
"Oh, Benjamin ? What about him ?" Vernon replied with a frown of confusion.
Benjamin Walker was an old friend of Vernon. They had practically grown side by side. Now, he was a scientist but recently, he got fired because of his experiments on animals. For Vernon, it was a stupid reason to fire someone just because he was testing his things on some beasts...especially creatures as disgusting and gross as reptiles.
Indeed, Benjamin seemed fond of reptiles for some reasons and for the like of him, he would never understand the man's fascination with them. But apart of that, Benjamin is a good friend so he could do whatever he wanted.
"I was thinking... Perhaps, he would be willing to have a new... test subject..." Petunia's eyes shined with malicious intent as she stared at her husband.
Vernon took a moment to process those words but once he did, a grin appeared on his face... one filled with the same evilness and dark intent that his wife.
They both knew of Benjamin's love for experiments... especially on animals and they were fine with it. Heck, they wouldn't care if the scientist tested his stuff on a human as long as the test subject of those experiments was not a PROPER NORMAL Englishman or woman.
But people like those Muslims, Africans (Author : I'm not racist if that is what you are thinking !) and Asians ? Vernon and Petunia wouldn't care at all as they were not proper englishmen/women but foreigners.
However, thanks to the law, it was forbidden to do experiments on humans... but what about people who SHOULDN'T exist at all like those wretched Wizards and Witches ?
"I'll be right back, Pet... I have a phone call to make~" Vernon said in a dark sing-song tone as he went to another room to call his old friend.
Petunia, now alone, shot a glance toward where the cupboard under the stairs was, before allowing a malicious grin to appear on her face. Soon enough, they will be rid of the freak and his freakishness... and she will make sure he suffers like his wretched mother made her suffer in the past.
Revenge was so good !
-/(Time Skip)/-
A hour later, someone knocked on the door, disturbing Vernon and Petunia as they enjoyed breakfast. In Petunia's arms, was a chubby baby who was none other than Dudley Dursley, their son. They were eating like a normal family when they heard someone knocking on the door.
"It must be him..." Vernon commente with slight ravishment before raising his heavy corpse off his chair before heavily making his way toward the house's front door.
Opening it, the walrus-like man smiled happily when he saw who it was.
"Benjamin ! Good to see you again ! How do you do ?" Vernon asked the scientist while extending a hard forward for a handshake.
Benjamin Walker was a man of the same age as Vernon but slimmer, with dark brown hair, a slight goatee, and eyes the color of ice partially hidden behind a pair of glasses. He was also a little shorter than Vernon: the latter is 5'8" tall while Benjamin must be 5'6".
"I'm fine, thank you for asking, old friend... As for you, you got fatter..." Benjamin replied bluntly with a firm expression while shaking Vernon's hand.
For a moment, nothing could be heard but silence... but this silence was quickly broken when the two men began to laugh before embracing each other.
"Still the same blunt bastard I see ! Come on in, we were having breakfast.. do you want to join us ?" Vernon said to his old friend once they regained their composure.
"It would be my pleasure ! It has been a long time since we shared a meal together..." Benjamin said with a smile before adding in fake annoyance
"Beside, I was about to have breakfast myself when you called me over... I
"Well, sorry about that..." Vernon said while rubbing the back of his head with a hand.
"Its fine... I 'm not mad... in fact, I'm curious of this new possible 'test subject' you have for me..." Benjamin's last words sent shivers down Vernon's spine because of the amount of dark intent in it... along with sadistic pleasure.
"Me and Pet will explain everything once we are safe and sound inside... I do not want to be heard...I suppose you can understand..."
The scientist nodded in agreement before entering the house. Vernon, before closing the door, made sure that no one was nearby and once he was sure it was not the case, he closed the door before walking toward the living-room... just as Benjamin and Petunia were about to pull away from one another after embracing each other.
The horse-like woman then offered some tea to their guest who accepted everything with a polite and friendly smile before glancing at the baby.
"Is that Dudley ?"
"Indeed ! He had grown a lot, huh ?"
"It seems so, old friend ! He is going to be one big boy in the future, isn't he ?"
"Just like his old man !" Vernon replied with an arrogant smirk, looking like a peacock.
Chuckles echoed at this declaration before everyone shared a nice breakfast, chatting with one another and enjoying the moment. A few moments later though, Benjamin decided it was time to return to the main reason he was here in the first place.
"Vernon, Petunia...What is this new 'subject' that you wanted to offer me ?'
The couple looked at one another for a moment before looking back at their guest.
"Do you remember what we told you... about Petunia's sister and her kind ?" Vernon asked his old time friend in a serious tone.
Benjamin frowned in confusion but nodded before answering calmly "I do... At first, I didn't believed you... but a few weeks ago, I came across a group of people sending sparks of light at one another wih sticks while screaming words in latin... I watched for a moment but then, when more of those people came, I fled..."
Vernon and Petunia stared at the scientist with wide eyes of shock and disbelief. After shooting a glance at one another, they shook their heads to regain their senses before looking back at their guests when the man asked them in confusion.
"What does your sister has anything to do with the test subject you wanted to give me ?"
Petunia took a deep breath before telling him about the event of the early morning : the baby, the letter, its contents...
Once she finished talking, Benjamin staid silent for a moment before asking "Where is the child ?"
Without a word, Vernon went to fetch the boy from the cupboard under the stairs before bringing it back to the kitchen. When the boy was presented to him, Benjamin stared at it with critical eyes, examining the infant to its totality. The baby, who was wide awake at this point, was staring back at the stranger with innocent curiosity. Vernon and Petunia staid silent as they watched the man examining the freak like a hawk before blinking when the scientist turned his head to face them.
"Normally, it is forbidden by laws to take people as experiments..." he began to say in a somber tone which caused Vernon and Petunia to pale slightly, thinking that the man wouldn't take the freak with him.
"But if this boy is indeed one of them, then he doesn't exist in the eyes of the laws~" The scientist added with a toothy smirk that reminded the Dursleys of a shark.
"Does that mean..." Petunia began to say in a voice filled with hope while Vernon leaned forward with an eager look on his face.
"Yes... I'm taking it with me !"
The Dursleys cheered at this an thanked the man again and again for taking the freak of their hands and Benjamin accepted their gratitude wholeheartedly. As Vernon and Petunia started dancing in joy before him, the scientist's eyes fell on the baby who was looking around with curiosity.
"You will be my greatest achivement... I will make sure of it !"
(End of prologue)
