The Red String of Fate

Summary:

Newly presented Alpha and Omega, last year of school, and a soul bond that snaps into place, making the lives of Lu Feng and Cheng Yichen a lot harder at school than it ought to be.

Not that they both mind..

Notes:

In this story, there will be inappropriate and maybe incorrect use of the Alpha/Omega dynamics but I'm taking fictional liberties with my young babies. Not beta read and fully inspired by real life shenanigans of Ayden and Elio!
Lol happy reading!

Side note - I've added the underage sex tag just as a precaution to avoid triggering anyone. The intimacy is perfectly appropriate since in the last year of school you're already 18-19 years old. If you don't like it, please don't read it. 🙏

Chapter 1: Prologue: Soul Bound

Chapter Text

Lu Feng smelled the omega before he even saw him.

Sweet like honey, notes of citrus which he couldn’t identify but was tempted to, and the mild, clean smell of sunflowers. The most perfect smell in the world, newly presented, young and ripe.

His.

It was Cheng Yichen. The boy who has always been his classmate. The one he knew of but never bothered to talk to. He’s known him all his life, but now that they were ready to start the last year of school, now that he knew what he smelled like, now that he knew he was beautiful and perfect, he couldn’t just let him slip through his fingers.

He had to make Cheng Yichen his. His newly awoken alpha inside him was restless but hopeful, he already found his omega, the alpha inside him kept willing him to move forward, to claim what was so clearly, already his.

His feet took him forward without any prompting, like a pully lever tightening, the red strings of fate snapping into place.

Lu Feng looked at the delicate boy, skipping along with his omega friend (whose smell didn’t even register in his sunflower filled senses), his features delicate and refined, long legs and a narrow waist, doe eyes sparkling in the sun for all the world to see.

He didn’t like that. He knew those eyes now. That laugh should be for him. He already knew the boy belonged to him. He couldn’t bear the thought of just letting him go on without even sparing a glance at him.

*

Cheng Yichen was having a good day. His parents had been happy when he presented as an omega the summer before. He now looked forward to the last year of school, then a whole future awaited him next. He smiled to himself, his omega calm and humming in his mind.

Then the scent hit him square in the chest.

Petrichor, but like deep in the forest. Saliva gathered in his mouth, at the hidden hints of sandalwood, and his omega perked up at the calm smell of eucalyptus. He couldn’t move, his whole being turned itself, as though someone had yanked at his mind through sharp claws.

It was Lu Feng just behind him, looking at him as he never had.

Alpha.

His omega rejoiced, instantly recognising it’s mate. His omega wanted him to move, to submit, to make his alpha accept him, love him, and care for him forever.

His eyes widened.

Lu Feng looked as though not present, his eyes turning color, his usual black turning to a beautiful shade of amber, his control at his alpha not yet a sure thing.

“Omega” he whispered.

Cheng Yichen’s eyes turned into the color of a bloomed sunflower.
