Work Text:
It was yet another sleepless night for the newly crowned Zora King. The kind of night during which doubt tried to creep in through every opening it could find. Sidon was even more restless than usual, so he decided to venture up the waterfalls to Mipha Court, to gaze upon the statue of his beloved sister. He wished for her guidance now more than ever.
Things were so uncertain right now. Honestly, he hadn’t even recovered from his best friend’s month-long disappearance. Now he had returned, but Zelda had not. Not to mention the threat of the Demon King on the horizon. He had to juggle that and his newfound duties as king, when all he wanted to do was spend a day swimming out in the reservoir with Link, not worrying about anything. Just like they did before the Upheaval. Was that really so much to ask?
Sidon sighed. He felt ready to sleep now, though he probably ought to relieve himself first. He turned to Mipha’s statue.
“Thank you, dear sister. Even though you are gone, your mere visage is a comfort.”
Sidon turned to descend the stairs, and that was when he heard a shout from somewhere above him. He looked around in confusion. Perhaps a Rito had ventured out from Tabantha? It was too dark to see, though. The shout came again, this time a little clear and closer. Sidon tracked the sound, and eventually, his eyes settled on a dark shape moving through the sky. Just then, the clouds obscuring the moon moved away, illuminating one who, despite being covered head to toe in strange armor, could only be identified as Link. Sidon beamed.
“Link! Whatever are you doing, my friend?” he called out. Link, in his armor, glided high above him in a circular motion, before deploying his paraglider and drifting safely to the ground, right in front of Sidon. He pulled off his birdlike mask, revealing a smiling, wind-bitten face and a mess of tangled hair.
‘Sidon!’ Link signed emphatically. He was obviously overjoyed to see him, and Sidon felt exactly the same. He was always happy whenever Link found the time to drop in (usually not literally dropping in, though).
“Hello, my dearest friend! It is wonderful to see you well, but what in Hylia’s name were you doing up there so late at night?”
Link vanished his mask into the Purah Pad before signing his response. ‘I was getting Zonai parts from the machine up on Wellspring Island, and then I got distracted looking for sundelions. They’re easier to see in the dark since they glow.’ He paused for a moment, looking up at the floating island above. ‘We should go up there together sometime. When the fate of the Zora isn’t at stake, it’s pretty nice.’
“I believe you are right. You certainly deserve a bit of time to relax,” said Sidon. Link began strapping down the fabric that hung from his limbs.
“Link,” said Sidon, a note of curiosity in his voice. “What is that strange armor?”
‘Glide armor. It makes it easier to move in the sky. Purah says it’s something called “aerodynamic.” All I know is it’s a pain to set up.’
“Fascinating!”
Their conversation lulled as Link fumbled with the belts and straps on the armor, trying to secure the fabric. Sidon looked around a little to entertain himself as he waited for Link to finish, and he caught sight of Shatterback Point just past Mipha’s statue. An idea came to him.
“Say, Link,” said Sidon, “do you fancy a swim tonight?”
Link followed Sidon’s gaze and frowned a little. ‘It’s rather cold tonight. I don’t think it would be safe for a Hylian to swim right now.’
“Ah, I see. Let us walk to the Domain together, then. Would you like something to eat?”
Link chuckled softly, giving an affirmative hum as he signed. ‘I always want something to eat.’
And thus, they set off from Mipha Court. It would take about an hour and a half to reach the Domain on foot, but Sidon was elated to spend that time with Link despite the late hour. Link was quite content as well, signing away about what he’d accomplished thus far in his quest, seemingly without a care in the world. It remained that way for the first half hour before Sidon was suddenly reminded of what he’d been about to do before Link arrived. He still needed to relieve himself. It was not urgent yet by any means, but it was certainly enough to be noticeable. He could wait, though, surely.
As they walked, Link’s expression slowly grew more sour. He soon interrupted one of his stories. ‘This armor is getting uncomfortable. Do you mind if we stop for a moment?’
“Of course not, my friend. Go on, change into something more comfortable!” Sidon replied. Link grabbed the Purah Pad off his hip, and soon, some softer looking clothes materialized on the ground in front of him.
‘Sometimes I dream that I can use the Purah Pad to instantly change my clothes. That would be really nice,” Link signed, and then he began working at the straps. Did the armor really need so many?
“That would be very convenient indeed,” Sidon agreed.
As Link took off the armor’s pair of tall leather boots, Sidon wondered whether he should take this opportunity to relieve himself. The urge was prominent enough now that he was starting to consider the logistics of different scenarios, so that meant he ought to take care of it sooner rather than later. He wasn’t used to urinating outside of water, but they were about ten minutes out from reaching the next waterfall. It looked like changing clothes would be a lengthy task for Link, so realistically, Sidon could just claim that his scales were drying out, and have Link meet him at the waterfall. Link would be none the wiser, and no time would be wasted.
And yet… Sidon had a nagging feeling to not leave Link alone for that long. Even just ten minutes. Sidon’s gut was rarely ever wrong, so he decided to stay. Besides, it wasn’t like he was desperate yet. He could wait.
Link let out a frustrated grunt, tugging on one of the belts, but it didn’t seem to be doing anything.
“Need some help, friend?” Sidon offered, but Link just shook his head. He fiddled with the belt a moment longer before it finally came loose. It had been approximately one minute, and Link had undone half the belts on… one leg. Sidon was feeling a little impatient.
“Are you sure?” he asked. “You will be comfortable sooner, and I promise I do not mind!”
Sidon could’ve sworn Link’s face went a little pink, but it was hard to tell in the dim lighting. Link shook his head again, then pulled the boots back on, leaving the few belts he got to unfastened.
‘Actually, It’s fine. I’ll just change at the Domain,” he signed. His change of clothes disappeared back into the Purah Pad.
Sidon squinted in confusion. “Oh! Well, if you say so! Shall we be off, then?”
Link nodded and began walking, setting a slightly brisker pace than they’d had before. Sidon, with his long stride, did not struggle to keep up, but he was curious. Link was behaving rather strangely now. It was unusual for him to change his mind about something so quickly. Had Sidon said or done something that irked him?
Those thoughts of uncertainty were soon interrupted by a strong urge. Sidon’s bladder was protesting its capacity. Sidon usually had no qualms about announcing he needed a short break, but he wanted to get Link back to the Domain sooner rather than later. And still, the feeling that he shouldn’t leave him alone persisted, and he was not going to ignore that. Plus… The idea of admitting to Link that he needed to relieve himself made him feel… Nervous? Shy, perhaps? Under any other circumstances, he’d have gone already, but he wasn’t desperate yet. And so, Sidon made no mention of his need, passing by the waterfall when they came to it.
As the second half hour of the trek came and went, their conversation slowly dwindled into a comfortable silence, broken only by their footfalls and the critters in the brush. Sidon was quite content just to be in Link’s presence, even though he was growing increasingly uncomfortable. Just hearing Link breathing beside him was enough of a distraction. Though, speaking of his breathing… It had gotten heavier over the course of that half hour. Was he tired? That wasn’t unreasonable. Though Link hated admitting it, Sidon knew that the vicious gloom attack he’d endured beneath the castle had sapped away much of his vitality. Zora’s Domain had been the first place Link went to when he’d come back, and by the time he’d found Sidon at Mipha Court, he’d looked more exhausted than he’d ever seen him.
It was probably in both their best interests to get back to the Domain as quickly as possible, then. But what was the best way to accomplish that?
Link let out a soft noise, one that Sidon wouldn’t have noticed had he not already been paying extra attention. One that spoke to some level of discomfort.
“Link, are you alright?” Sidon asked. Link nodded and raised an eyebrow, silently asking for elaboration. Sidon obliged. “It is just, you do not seem comfortable, my friend. And you have been acting a little strange. Are you sure you do not want help getting out of that armor?”
Link got part of the way through shaking his head before pausing. He was tense, and he furrowed his brow in thought for a long moment.
‘Maybe I could use some help,’ Link signed sheepishly.
“That is all you had to say, friend.”
Link pulled out the Purah Pad, and his change of clothes manifested. He took off the boots again, and then resumed work on his partially freed leg.
“Where would you like me to start?”
Link pointed to his side, so that’s where Sidon went. There were a few vertical belts attaching the chest piece to the strap around his waist, and Sidon made quick work of them. If Sidon undid the belts on the side of the chest piece, he could easily remove it, but that felt a little too much like undressing his friend. That was not what was happening—he was merely helping loosen his armor! So, ignoring a pang of urgency from his bladder, he moved to the bracers. Link had moved on to his other leg by then, and it was a little tricky to work on the straps while he was using his arms, but Sidon managed it. Soon enough, all of the belts were undone, leaving the leather armor hanging loosely from Link’s body. He shrugged it off with ease, leaving him in just a skintight bodysuit. It clung to his form, clearly outlining the ridges of his muscles. Sidon’s face felt a little warm, so he took that as his cue to turn away and give Link his privacy to disrobe fully.
Before the shuffling of fabric could even begin, something in the air changed. Sidon looked up, and the sky was tinted crimson.
“Link! The blood moon!”
Sidon looked around, hoping they weren’t where he thought they were, but alas, there was a monster camp a short ways down the path, in the exact direction they needed to go. Sidon wasn’t prepared for the possibility of a battle. This was intended to be a short trip up the waterfalls to Mipha Court, nothing else. He didn’t even have his trident! This was noticed by Link, thankfully, because barely a moment later, a makeshift spear fashioned from a bokoblin horn was thrust into his hands. The discarded glide armor had been sent into the Purah Pad, and now Link was wielding a sword made from a lizal horn, still wearing only the bodysuit.
The pair watched from afar as monsters began to reanimate in bursts of smoke. Soon there was a sizable group of lizalfos at the camp, and they had a supply of shock fruit with them. Sidon scowled in their direction.
“Link, you have no armor, and I am vulnerable to electricity—this is not a fight we should pick. I hate to run from a fight as much as the next warrior, but those lizalfos are only a threat if we approach them, which we do not have to do.”
Not to mention, Sidon really had to pee now, but he didn’t say that part aloud. Link turned to Sidon with a mischievous glint in his eye, and Sidon frowned.
“I know that look,” he said with a scolding tone. “If you try to fight them, I will rescind my offer of food at the Domain.”
Then it was Link’s turn to frown. He sighed and sheathed his sword. ‘So what’s your plan to get past them, then?’
“I, ah, hadn’t thought that far ahead, yet, I’m afraid.”
Link rolled his eyes, and Sidon gave a good-natured scoff. He tossed his spear back and forth between his hands, shifting his weight from foot to foot, and it wasn’t long before an idea came to him.
“I know you said it is too cold, but how opposed are you to getting wet? If we return to the waterfall, I can give you a ride through the water. It will cut the journey to a fraction of the time! Then you can change into something warm and dry, and we will grab something to eat.”
Link contemplated this for a moment. His frown deepened at first, seemingly put off by the idea, but then he relented, a tinge of pink on his cheeks.
‘Alright,’ he signed. ‘It’s not as if riding on your back is a new experience.’
“My thoughts exactly,” Sidon agreed. “Come along, my friend, let us be off.”
Sidon began walking swiftly back the way they had come. He didn’t want to appear to be in a hurry, but the truth was his bladder sat heavy in his abdomen. He should have relieved himself an hour ago like he’d intended. This was starting to become painful. Once he was in the water, he could urinate discreetly and bring Link to the Domain at the same time—two birds with one stone.
A few tense minutes later, Sidon and Link reached the waterfall, and Sidon didn’t waste another moment. He handed the boko spear back to Link and soared right into the water. He already felt lighter now that he was submerged, so he allowed himself to finally relax his muscles as Link stored the spear away. And yet, the water did not grow warm around him. Beneath the surface, Sidon brought a hand to his lower abdomen, finding it taut and distended. He pressed on it, just the slightest bit, and was hit with a sharp pain. He had to go so bad, but he could not. Before he knew it, his window had passed, because now Link was gesturing for him to come closer. Sidon had been grimacing without even realizing, so he schooled his expression into something more pleasant as he swam to the shore.
“Climb aboard, my dearest friend!” he said, flashing his signature grin. Link braced his arms on Sidon’s shoulders and swung his leg over his back. Soon he was settled, and Sidon recalled the first time they’d done this. They had known each other for less than a day, and yet Link had ridden on Sidon’s back with no qualms. They’d appeased Divine Beast Vah Ruta together, as warriors and as friends.
Though, of course, Sidon could not deny the butterflies in his stomach he’d had then, nor the ones he had now. Something about having Link’s body on top of his own felt profoundly intimate, but Sidon tried to pay it no mind. He had to get to the Domain now.
He allowed himself to sink further into the water, and Link winced as it soaked right through his bodysuit all the way up to his hips. He gripped Sidon’s shoulders tighter, squirming a bit on his back. It was only mildly cold to a Zora, but Hylians could feel water temperature much more keenly with their sensitive, unprotected skin. Sidon didn’t want to expose Link, in his thin clothes, to the cold for longer than he had to.
“Shall we?” he asked, glancing over his shoulder. Link nodded, and with that, Sidon shot off in the water. Link gasped as he was splashed on all sides, drenching his upper half. He leaned in close, clinging like he was going to fall off, though Sidon would never allow that to happen. The edge of the first waterfall was approaching rapidly.
“Ready? Down we go!”
Sidon leapt over the edge and fell head first. Behind him, Link tucked his face against Sidon’s back, shielding himself from the water. Sidon laughed—even with his painfully full bladder, it was impossible to deny the thrill of swimming the waterfalls. He heard Link draw in a deep breath as they approached the water below, and then, with a glorious splash, they landed. Sidon, with his water manipulation, was easily able to move the water to bring them to the surface, rather than slamming into the rocky bottom. He treaded water, waiting for Link to catch his breath.
“Haha, it never gets old!” Sidon said. “Are you ready for the next one, friend?”
Link gave an affirmative hum, so he sped off again. This time, as they raced towards the water below, Link winced, twitching suddenly against Sidon’s back. Sidon was concerned at this, but he couldn’t look back to check. There were rocks down below, so he had to be mindful of where he landed. The same as before, he moved the water up on impact to avoid hitting the bottom. When they surfaced, Sidon checked on Link, but he looked just fine. So, he smiled at him.
“Just one more!”
He swam to the edge and jumped once more. He could have imagined it, but he swore that there was a small, abnormally warm spot between Link and himself, but as they hit the water for the final time, it was washed away. Sidon surfaced and swam at a brisk but leisurely pace, not wanting to clue Link in on his own discomfort. It was more tolerable in the water without gravity pressing down. Then Link squirmed again on top of him, huffing uncomfortably.
“Worry not, my friend,” Sidon said. “We are nearly there, and then we can warm you up!”
To his mild astonishment, Link whispered in his ear. It was a rare treat to hear his voice. He said, “Hurry.”
“Say no more,” said Sidon, and he sped up immediately. In a few short minutes, they had arrived at the Domain proper, and Sidon swam up to the rocks beneath the city. He stayed in the water, but Link hopped up onto the rocks.
“You go on ahead, Link. I will catch up with you in a moment.”
Link didn’t move towards the ladder like Sidon had expected. Instead, he frantically tugged at the neck of his bodysuit. Sidon’s bladder throbbed, but try as he might, he just couldn’t start to go with Link right there.
“Erm, would it not be better to change in your private quarters?”
Link shook his head vehemently. He was shivering violently, and couldn’t get a grip on the buttons on the back of the suit. He looked at Sidon with wide eyes.
“Help,” he said, voice raspy from lack of use. Sidon’s body moved before his mind could. Link looked positively desperate, and he wasn’t about to leave him hanging. He immediately started working at the buttons as Link squirmed in front of him, his own bladder screaming in protest.
“Whatever is the matter, my friend? Are you okay?” Sidon asked.
Link groaned softly. “Gotta pee,” he muttered. Sidon remembered the warmth he’d felt between them as they descended the final waterfall, and suddenly his face was ablaze with heat.
“O-Oh! You should have said something before we got in the water!” said Sidon. He made quick work of the buttons, which stretched from Link’s neck all the way to below the small of his back. Undoing the bottom two buttons revealed the waistband of Link’s undergarments, and Sidon had the suspicion that the white on his face was now the same shade of brilliant red as the rest of his scales.
“Alright, they’re all undone. Go on, Link!”
Sidon watched as Link peeled off the soaking wet top half of the bodysuit. He had seen Link shirtless before, of course, but the way his muscles rippled as he twitched and writhed, fighting to keep his bladder contained, was making Sidon feel very warm indeed. And then he felt a literal warmth as his own bladder spasmed. Something dribbled from his slit, indistinguishable from the lakewater still dripping from his body. He clenched his muscles, sucking in a wince. At the same time, Link, now clad only in his underwear with his back to Sidon, let out a pained whine. He couldn’t turn around to sign properly, so he spoke quietly.
“C-Could you go? I… can’t, um, do it… with you… so close.”
“Ah, yes, of course! Erm… well—a-ah!”
Sidon tried to stop it, really he did, but his dual cocks slid out against his will, already streaming. Link’s eyes went wide, and Sidon gasped, his hands shooting downwards to cover himself. He only succeeded in urinating all over his hands, so, embarrassed beyond belief, he took a few steps backwards and allowed himself to fall into the water. As soon as he did so, Link moaned in relief, his own stream beginning to splash against the rocks.
There was a painful lump in Sidon’s throat. He wanted to hide and never be seen again, and also cry. For now, he simply retreated beneath the surface of the water, swimming deeper until he could not be seen from above. Urine and tears mixed freely with the lakewater. Sidon was so ashamed. He was the king of the Zora. He was supposed to be the picture of poise and control, and he had allowed himself to get to such a desperate point that he’d begun wetting himself in front of the Hero of Hyrule. Sure, Link had been in a similar predicament, but at least it hadn’t been out of his control. He hadn’t been wetting himself on full display in front of his best friend. Link had been more or less composed, turned away from Sidon so he wouldn’t see anything, while Sidon’s cocks had dropped out right there. It was a shameless, disgusting display.
…It also wasn’t very king-like of him to hide from his best friend either. Link had come to the Domain throughout his quests in all manner of conditions—delirious, ill, bleeding, exhausted, and probably desperate for a pee, too, at one point or another. Maybe he was so caught up in his own relief that he’d already forgotten! Okay, that part was wishful thinking. But truly, was Link really going to be completely disgusted? Obviously not.
By the time Sidon had convinced himself of this, his tears had stopped, but he was not done urinating yet. Zora had quite large bladders compared to a Hylian. Link was probably already done by now. Maybe he thought Sidon had gone up into the city. Was he worried?
“Sidon?”
Ah. There was his answer. Link was looking for him. He did not want to worry him further, so he decided he would surface, but stay in the water until he was done. He went up slowly, water dripping down his scales and over his eyes. Link was still on the rocks, and when he spotted Sidon, his expression was a mix of concern and relief. His hair was still sopping wet. His bodysuit was gone now, and he seemed to have taken a soft towel from the Purah Pad, which was wrapped around his body in such a way that his arms were uncovered and free to use, almost like a dress. He gave Sidon an awkward little wave.
‘There you are,’ he signed. ‘You okay?’
“Y-Yes,” Sidon responded, very conscious of the warmth still flowing from him as he spoke. “What about you?”
‘Still cold. But better now.’
An awkward silence. Neither of them made eye contact.
‘You were right. It would have been a horrible idea to try and fight those lizalfos. It would have been a horrible way to go out. We piss ourselves on the battlefield and they throw a shock fruit, and we both die by electric piss.’
At this, Sidon couldn’t help but burst out laughing, and Link quickly followed suit. He laughed so hard that by the time he could catch his breath, his ribs were hurting, and his gills flared beneath the water.
“Ahaha… Oh yes… Not the most honorable death, is it?” said Sidon, and just like that, he felt better again. Link somehow knew exactly what to say to cheer him up, and he didn’t even have it in him to be embarrassed anymore. He had finally stopped urinating by that point, so after checking to be sure his cocks had retracted and his slit was firmly closed, he jumped out of the water, doing a completely unnecessary front flip just for the fun of it. Link yelped as he was splashed, but a smile remained on his face all the same.
‘I think it’s time to get some food,’ he signed.
“Yes, let us go. No more delays!”
Sidon approached the ladder that led up to the bridge, but before he could begin climbing, Link tapped him to get his attention. He looked back as Link signed, cheeks noticeably flushed.
‘One quick question, though.’
“Ask away, my friend!”
‘Was I seeing things, or do you actually have two?’
