Chapter Text
Sasha chewed on her bottom lip as she looked at Anne. Anne must have sensed the look because she glanced over at Sasha from across the couch.
“Sash, what's the matter?” Anne crossed over the couch to sit down next to Sasha. Sasha threw her arm around Anne’s shoulders and held her close.
“I am sorry.” Sasha nuzzled her face into Anne’s curly hair.
“Sorry for what?”
“For what I did in Amphibia. For trying to kill Hop Pop. For trying to start a takeover of the kingdom.” Sasha sniffled. Anne just pulled her head towards her chest and ran her fingers through
Sasha’s blonde hair.
“What brought all this on?”
“I was just lost in memories after talking to one of my patients. I was reminded of what I had done to you. And what I had done to Marcy. And what I did to all of Amphibia.” Sasha wrapped her arms around Anne’s waist. “I regret what I did. I regret that I hurt you.” Sasha let out a sob. “Hell, I had hurt you. Why in the hell did you still accept my apology when you came back to Amphibia? And why did you accept my love?”
“Well, I didn’t originally want to accept your apology. I thought you hadn’t really changed but I was also trying to give you the benefit of the doubt. And I saw it. I saw you trying to be genuine in your approach to be different. To show you had changed. And that made me realize that you were trying your best. Especially when you didn’t fight to claim that helmet back. It showed me you changed. That you did change for the better.”
“I am afraid.”
“Afraid of what?”
“That I will fall into bad habits. That I could do something so stupid that I could hurt you and Marcy. That I could lose you forever.”
“Well, you haven’t done anything like that since we had landed in Amphibia. You have matured and changed for the better. You have learned and I trust you completely. And I doubt that you could lose me forever. I do have a ring on my finger that shows that you promise to keep being yourself.” Sasha looked up and saw Anne wiggling her her left hand. On her ring finger was an engagement band. Sasha just smiled before leaning up and kissing Anne on the lips.
“Thank you, love.”
“Anytime, my beautiful and strong fiancé.”
Anne kissed her back.
