After a long hard day of making sure the ship was working properly, the crew goes to bed. They each share dorms with another person, and this is the case for Red and Blue.
They had fallen in love after two days on the ship because they’re both lonely people who wanted a man to keep company.
One small issue: Blue was sent to sabotage their voyage, even if by a day. After that, he would receive a mate. Easy thing, right? Well, it works a lot like arranged marriage, in which it’s likely that neither partner will ever truly develop feelings for each other.
Red was the captain.
So, small dilemma for Blue: Either ruin the trust of your first-ever partner who truly loves you (but is of a different species and the same sex, no less) and sabotage his mission for someone you’ve never met, or fully commit to the relationship you have and likely get exiled from your tribe.
If he had to pick a poison, it would be the second one. Maybe he’d get to see Earth. He’d heard stories of the place and wanted to see it one day before he died.
Red had nothing on his mind but his suspiciously impostor-shaped boyfriend.
”Hey, Blue.”
”Yeah?”
”Love you.”
”I love you too.”
”Wanna get intimate? It’s gonna be our first time.”
”Really?” Blue asked inquisitively.
”Yeah. I was kinda shunned in school for being nerdy, so—“
”Stop it right there. Let’s undress.”
Undress? Oh dear Gods. Blue was not expecting to have this outcome. The tribe had spent generations adapting to this body only to be thwarted by the simple act of taking it off.
Red was taking his suit off, and was concerned at the fact Blue wasn’t.
”You okay there?”

”Okay then. Take your time, then. We have all night, babe.”
Blue was absolutely not alright. What if he threw me out? What if he killed me on the spot? What if?
Red hugged him, forcing a small growl out of Blue.
”Dude.”
”What?”
”What was that?”
”What are you talking about?”
”That growl.”
”You didn’t hear a growl.“
Red sighed. “Just undress.”
A lot of instincts and natural responses were coming into Blue, but the one that screamed out the most to him was Mate.
”Tell me. Are you okay with me topping?”
”Of course, Blue.”
”Then just… Put this over your eyes.”
He gave him one of those eye covers used for sleep.
“Okay, man. Weird kink, but I got you.”
A fully undressed Red put on the cover.
Finally, Blue could give him something intimate without him seeing.
He changed into a more monstrous form quietly, not putting a single tentacle on Red before he could make a good imitation of a human penis. Once he finished doing that, he put that imitation in his lover’s ass.

Blue collapsed onto Red, wrapping tentacles all over Red and unfurling the ones inside of him so that he could pull them out and make room for the real deal.
”Do you want to see how the males of my kind do it?” That low voice. Red could fall asleep to that loving, lulling voice.

There was a largest tentacle amongst all the others, which was used for reproduction. Blue simply slipped it into his already prepared lover.

Blue made sure to use air quotes on the word “eat” so Red would know he was safe. He wanted Red to be safe and happy with him.
He pushed the tentacle a little bit deeper.

”You’re welcome, mate.”

Blue didn’t even insert his children yet.
