Chapter Text
Soulmates were a well known thing for the wizarding world. At 11 (once both soulmates were 11 that is) all wizards and witches experienced the same magic, if they drew on their body, it would appear on their soulmate’s body exactly the same. Washing it off only washed off what they drew.
So when the muggleborn Hermione Granger found out, she was overjoyed to say the least.
Draco Malfoy didn’t quite care, he already knew that he’d had one, he just hoped they’d be a good artist. He planned to keep himself mostly covered so he would be the first to find out his soulmate’s identity, kept him calmer about it.
By the end of his first day, there was a vine scrolling across his left forearm, simple but not ugly, clearly done with some muggle pen, based on the look of it, his parents had given him some washable colors as a gift and since the leaves had space to color, he made them green, just as an acknowledgement before he showered.
He watched as a smiley face was drawn next to it.
By the time he got out of the shower it was all gone, guess she showered around the same time.
By 3 months in, Draco was very, very, careful about hiding his forearms. Every morning she’d draw something new and he’d color it for her but he hid the art. And that reason was really simple. He’d ended up soulmates with Hermione Granger, the muggleborn.
Very close to the end of the school year he woke up late and found no drawing, it spooked him for a while. So he waited, eventually he heard that apparently Professor Quirrele of all people had been sharing a body with the dark lord and that the golden trio, as they had been dubbed by some older students, had dealt with him last night. And by dealt with, apparently they meant that Potter somehow turned him to dust!
Yea, that soulmate bond was staying a secret. He wasn’t about to get shovel-talked by someone who could dust a man.
