the Main Six Exploring the (wikidot) Backrooms

Summary:

The Main Six (as humans) no-clip into the backrooms and explore it, every chapter covering 1 level, and the exploration is accurate to the wikidot backrooms canon. I couldn't really decide on what ships to do for this fanfic so I think I'll just lowkey do ALL OF THEM, or like explore what comes naturally to me as I write the story I guess. You might want to know that I'm especially a fan of FlutterDash, AppleDash, TwiDash and TwiPie. I want to try to really get into every single characters psychological journey of being in the backrooms for such a long time as well, and to have at least some of them die eventually, unless I end up changing my mind on that later ofc.

I don't watch much of equestria girls, so it'll basically be the g4 ponies personalities and stuff humanized the way I want to humanize them.

Chapter 1: The Frontrooms

Chapter Text

It was nine AM, and most of the class was asleep. They were supposed to be reading Hamlet by Shakespeare, but the drowsiness had eventually gotten the best of them until they all sunk down onto the desk, with their arms as pillows.

BEEP BEEP BEEP. The loud noice awakened them. BEEP BEEP BEEP. It was the fire alarm. “Alright everyone, let’s calmly exit the building now!” the teacher told them. People slowly stood up and started walking out of the classroom. “I’m sorry, but didn’t we have a fire drill last week already?” Rarity asked Fluttershy and Applejack as they met in the tired, moving line. “Yeah, I thought so too,” Applejack replied as they stepped out of the classroom. Just then, two students from a corridor to the right came running towards their class. “No running, you two!” the teacher told them, but they didn’t listen. “The kitchen is on fire!” one of the students shouted and the two of them moved quickly past the line and further down towards the exit. The class sped up after them, and the chatter between students grew louder and more concerned.

“What in tarnation,” Applejack said quietly to herself.

“Good heavens, there’s an actual fire this time,” Rarity exclaimed.

They kept walking along with the class until Fluttershy suddenly stopped walking and moved to the side of the hallway. Rarity and Applejack didn’t notice until they had walked a couple more meters forward, but when they did notice, they turned around and ran back to Fluttershy, who was looking down at her phone, concerned. “What’s the matter, Fluttershy?” Rarity asked and put a hand on the girl’s shoulder. Fluttershy turned her phone around. The screen displayed the six friend’s group chat, and a recent chat from someone whose name consisted of a rainbow emoji and a pink heart. The chat read: “HELPPPP!! ME AND PINKIE ARE STUCK IN THE BASEMENT”

“You’ve gotta be kidding me,” Applejack said.

“There are certainly better times to get stuck in a basement than this,” Rarity said, annoyed.

An arm with a gray sweater suddenly grabbed onto Fluttershy’s phone from their left side. Startled, they turned to discover Twilight, standing there in her pajamas and the school sweater. “W-e-r-e-o-n-o-u-r-w-a-y,” she spelled out while typing on fluttershy’s phone, before handing it back. “Where did you come from?” Rarity asked, but Twilight just said: “Come on!” in an annoyed voice, though she seemed annoyed at Rainbow and Pinkie, not the others. They all followed after her as she ran down the hallway. They went through a gray door to the right, and then rushed down many, many stairs, down a corridor to the left, and then down more stairs, until they met a couple of double metal doors. Twilight tried opening them and immediately found out it wasn’t doable. “Rainbow?! Pinkie?!” Applejack shouted at the door. “We’re here!” Pinkie and Rainbow shouted from the other side. “We can’t get the door open again. It just somehow got stuck or something,” Rainbow Dash explained. “Weird,” Twilight said, and started tugging at the handle and studying the lock.

“Let me try,” Applejack suggested, and tried tugging at the handle as well, before she started attacking the door with her entire body weight. BANG. BANG. BANG. Fluttershy sat down on the stairs. “We’re going to burn to death.”

Rarity sat down besides Fluttershy. “Noo-” She said, and moved the girl’s light pink hair away from her face, behind her ear. “No door is impossible to get through,” Twilight said. Pinkie replied from the other side of the door. “Yeah, because then it wouldn’t be a door, it would be a wall!”

“Exactly,” Twilight said and gestured towards Pinkie, or, you know, the door Pinkie was standing behind, before she put her hands in her pajama pockets. Which reminded Rarity of her attire.

“Did you just wake up, Twilight dear?”

“I guess I did, yeah.”

“You were up all night reading again weren’t you?”

“It might’ve gotten a little late.”

“But Twilight, sleeping is so so important!” Fluttershy said with her gentle, concerned voice, and Rarity nodded in agreement.

“Sure, but you know I genuinely hate having missed out on class this morning, so please don’t make me feel worse,” Twilight yawned.

“Sorry, Twil-” Fluttershy started, and Twilight interrupted with “No, n-,” before…

BANG. Just then, the metal doors burst open. Applejack flew along with the door, into the dark room where Pinkie and Rainbow were. Rainbow Dash caught her so she didn’t fall onto the hard, concrete floor. “Whoo! Thanks AJ!” Rainbow Dash said, with Applejack still in her arms. “N-no problem,” Applejack said, and stood up straight. She smiled at Rainbow, but it was obvious that she was in pain. She moved her right hand over to her left arm, which seemed to be hurting. “Yo, are you okay?” Rainbow asked and looked down at her arm. Twilight, Rarity and Fluttershy had walked down into the darker room with them now. “Yeah, yeah,” Applejack said. before she took a step backwards, a little to the left, further into the room, tripping over a wire on the floor. “WæÆ!” she shouted and fell backwards. Through the floor. Disappeared out of sight. “Applejack!” Rainbow Dash cried out after her. Fluttershy shrieked. Rarity seemed to almost faint, but managed to stop herself as there was nothing soft to land on. “Oh my God!” Twilight exclaimed.

“She just disappeared!” Pinkie Pie shrieked, pointing at where Applejack had gone straight through solid matter.

“She did…” Twilight said, and sat down next to the spot. The girls noticed a certain glimmer in her eyes as she said this. “But how?!” Rainbow wanted to know. Twilight traced the ground with her finger. It went through the floor. “I think I-” she begun, but her foot moved just a bit too much forward, and her body fell forward and right through. “NononONONONOOOO-!”

“Twilight!!” her friends cried out and reached for her. Rainbow managed to catch her ankle, and used all her strength to try to hold onto her, but wasn’t strong enough. Rainbow was slipping forward towards the traversable spot on the floor. When Fluttershy saw that her childhood friend was about to disappear as well, she grabbed onto Rainbows waist and tried holding her back. But it was too late, and Rainbow fell down just as Rarity grabbed onto Fluttershy to help, making all three of them fall down along with Twilight.

Pinkie was now the only one left who hadn’t gone through. The room was silent and empty. Not wanting to leave her friends behind, or maybe because she didn’t want to be left behind, or maybe just for completely different reasons altogether, she jumped down after them.
