Work Text:
The Incredibles raced into the building, their hearts seemed to be jolting out of their ribcage in unison as they rushed to were Edna (the icon) said quote unquote “ the most fearsome villain is causing horrific destruction and casualties—and I'm not being overdramatic darling, I’m being the PERFECT amount of dramatic that’s needed for this life-threatening situation!”
Flash races forward to get as many people out of the building as he can, as he returns to his mother’s side, Helen gives him the look as he realises he took the cookie jar from the canteen with him .
“ Force of habit, sorry mom”
“You're returning that when we deal with this super villain,” She says.
“Time to move in, the villain is in the basement,” Violet reports.
They make it to the door were the supervillain is, it is eerily quiet, which nine times out of ten means that whatever they are facing is lethal and deadly.
“It must be a sound proof room,” Helen comments,
“Whatever happens,” Bob pauses,” Just know that I love you all dearly,”
Bob charges at the door, busting it down as the rest of the team rush in.
“ STOP RIGHT—there...”
“ Is that—” Helen's eyes widen in shock.
“ Jack - Jack's babysitter ?” Violet’s mouth hangs open.
They all stare in confusion as the Kari sits relaxed in a desk chair, a bored expression on her face. She’s rocking a sleeping Jack-Jack back and forth in a stroller while mozart faintly plays on a record player in the background. Their eyes then shift towards this GIGANTIC villainous monster, with bulging anger radiating from their popping veins who’s... tied up to an adjacent desk chair?
“How did you--?” Bob asks staring in shock.
“Oh Please, I’ve babysat Jack-Jack and survived. This is light work in comparison.”
They all stare at the teenage girl, dumbfounded. Flash then looks down at the jar in his hands, before asking:
“Sooooo... anyone want a cookie?”
“Can I have one?” The supervillain perks up.
“Nu-uh, you’re still on timeout for trying to destroy the world—and WHERE is your manners? My English teacher says that manners is one of the most important things you can have, “Kari responds.
“Aw man,” the supervillain responds.
And that’s when the Incredibles processed the fact that their 14 year old babysitter, Kari McKeen
...
is an icon.
