Chapter Text
This work is a work of fiction. Save for my original characters - Noriko, her relatives, some noblemen, etc. - all credits go to Koyoharu Gotouge, the creator of Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba) manga and anime.
This is mature fanfiction. There will be detailed and graphic descriptions of themes that are mentioned in the tags. Please check them before reading this story!
For now, this is only a tester version of the work that I envision with my oc Noriko. It is my first ever time writing a fic, but I will do my best to do it justice. I’m beginning to write it with the intentions to expand it into a diverse and long work and test my writing capabilities.
I am writing this fic mostly for myself, as I actually want expand Noriko’s (my oc’s) lore and create a story that I myself would be able to read as much as write. But if it does gain readers, then I’ll be sure to take them into consideration and continue it.
For now I am unsure on whether it’ll actually expand into what I want it to be, as, again, it is my first time writing something.
Please note that English isn’t my first language, and my writing style may come off as different from that of other writers, but if you don’t like it, then keep it to yourself. If it bothers someone, you can simply stop reading it. I am open to suggestions and constructive criticism, but outright negativity will not be tolerated.
I shall also clear up certain points about my OC here as well. Noriko Kyoki Sadow is an unusual name amongst Japan, but the reasons for that will be specified later on. In the story, she will be referred to as Sadow Kyoki Noriko or Sadow Noriko, same as all the other characters, because in Japan surnames are used before the given name.
Throughout the story, Noriko’s full name is constantly changing due to her circumstances, such as she starts off as Hinata (Kiyoki) Noriko. She has her father’s last name and while I know that in Japan the concept of middle names doesn’t actually exist, (in legal documents) Kiyoki isn’t written in them and is more like a name amongst the family. Then she will later on take her polish mother’s last name Sadow, even though it won’t be changed legally and it will only be because Noriko wants to call herself that. Then Kiyoki will change to Kyoki as a form of insult towards her, so by the end, the name she calls herself is Sadow Kyoki Noriko.
It doesn’t exactly rhyme or roll off the tongue nicely, but I chose it deliberately because it doesn’t fully fit together in the japanese form. It highlights her foreign roots and the way she is and feels isolated from everyone around her in a country she’s not exactly familiar with.
And, uh, all the tags are warnings for up ahead. Some may be added or deleted later on, so be warned.
