50 years after the great calamity, people needed a hero. But the true hero would not resurrect for another 50, according to legend. So someone had to step up, and be who Hyrule needed in this moment.
Enter Linkle. A young woman, 17 years of age. She was named after a great hero, according to her grandmother. And she certainly was. Linkle spent much time reading the stories of old heroes. It was said that one defining quality amidst all of them was immense courage, great swordsmanship and, for whatever reason, green clothing. Linkle met none of those requirements. She never touched a sword before, she wasn’t particularly brave (whenever there was trouble with the cuccos, she usually got her grandmother to help), And the only green article of clothing she had was a pair of socks.
But she did know how to fight. And that was what Hyrule needed most. ‘Legendary hero’ or not, they needed someone to fight for them!
