ERROR: SYSTEM OV3RLOAD.txt

Summary:

When Rinne tries to fix his robot creation, he discovers an error in the system that he shamefully uses to his own advantage.

Notes:

I was on Tiktok. I discovered Wireplay. I knew what I needed to do… this is the first time I’ve ever wrote something like this so I hope you guys enjoy my little fic experiment! Bottom Kuro is fun to write…

Work Text:

Rinne shuffled through his office, a collection of parts and tools rattling in the heavy bag slumped against his shoulder. He could tell there were errors with his robot’s code, yet it wasn't until today could he get the parts to fix it. There were attempts to make him more… human-like, but it seemed that it just backfired on him.

He finally set his bag down, flipping on his PC as he logged in. He checked out the diagnostics: relatively stable. Good. He unplugged the AC adapter and walked over to his robot that was currently off. He took a moment to admire it for a second, all his years of hard work staring back at him.

Despite how sentient his creation was, he was still, well, a robot. He didn't have to be fully human, or even remotely. Rinne didn’t do well with humans anyways; they were judgemental and self-centered. At least here with his creation, he wouldn’t have to worry about any of it. He programmed all the responses, all the outputs, all of the personality to be perfectly made for his own obscure fantasy, one he could live in alone.

He finally pressed on the power button as the robot stirred awake. The whirring of the engines echoed through the room as the screen on his chest lit up. Rinne input his secret password, the machine’s eyes opening softly.

“Good mornin’ Dora-chan~” Rinne cooed, caressing the hard metal on his shoulder. The robot only smiled artificially, the screen now displaying his name: Kuro Kiryu: activated.

“Welcome back, Rinne!” Kuro replied, slowly stepping down from his charging station towards his creator. Rinne sat down on the hard floor, Kuro following his actions as he spoke again.

“It has been a while since you were home.. My data shows you were home 2 hours later than your usual patterns.”

The screen on his chest showed a chart displaying the times, and Rinne let out a teasing laugh.

“Aww, ya missed me that bad?” He smirked, zipping open his bag, “I had to get parts to fix you up. Remember the error code ya had last week?”

Kuro looked blankly, processing his question before replying, “Ohh, yea, that one… my face had some overheating issues”

Rinne’s face flushed, inching closer towards his creation as he fiddled with his tools. “Yea, and.. other things,” his voice grew lower, “But I think your memory got overwritten..”

“Hm?” Kuro tilted his head.

“Nothin nothin!” Rinne dismissed his thoughts with a wave, "Don't worry about it, lets just get ya fixed up, alright?”

Kuro nodded as Rinne typed along the robot’s screen, setting him into recovery mode. He could hear Kuro’s fans slowing, yet still the steady whirring that made him feel somewhat… alive, as if his own breath.

Rinne pondered as set him up for repairs.. What if the fans were like him breathing? Maybe there's a way to simulate that more… or convey a faster breath.. for certain inputs.

He felt his body grow hot as he tried to shake away those thoughts. Regardless of what he did, Kuro would not be human. Just as close as he could get it. No matter how realistic he could get him to be, they all are really his own ideas projected into the code.

Once Kuro was finally set to safe mode, his green eyes scanning his creator curiously like always, Rinne reached for his screwdriver to slowly open up his control panel. He flipped open the cover, following the instructions on the screen.

“Rinne,” Rinne paused to look up at Kuro who was staring curiously at him, “Do you ever worry my code will become outdated?”

Rinne’s eyes widened— “Of course not! I mean, as long as I’m here, I’ll do everythin’ to keep ya runnin’!”

“I see..” Kuro scanned his face once more before continuing, “Why do you often try to install sense receptors into my program?”

“Eh?” Rinne’s heart hammered as he tried to reach for a new computer chip: Kuro shouldn’t know that. He hid that folder with his password.

“I mean.. robots aren’t supposed to feel touch..” Kuro tried to move, before Rinne held him still again. “You’ve told me I don’t need to be human, yet you program me that way.”

Rinne sat still not looking at Kuro’s face. The robot tried to reach his hand out to Rinne before he tried to swat it away, his hand throbbing against the metal.

“Don’t worry ‘bout it…” Rinne cleared his throat, “This bug is fuckin’ you up..”

He took off the screen cover, quickly replacing the computer chip before screwing the screen back on. He scanned meticulously through the folders, yet everything seemed untouched. So how did Kuro find out about that?

He’d worry about it later, he had to fix this.. wire situation. They were starting to get tangled somehow, and his poor memory made him forget to add the electrical tape to color code them.

Rinne sighed, patting Kuro’s head, “Sorry Dora-chan, this’ll take longer than normal.. yer creator here is an idiot and didn’t organize the wires.. so I gotta fiddle around with em.”

“It's all good,” Kuro smiled, “Take as much time as you need.

Rinne tried to steady Kuro’s core, resting his hand on his metallic chest as he reached for one of the wires. Unsure where it started or ended from, he gave it a slight tug. Suddenly, Kuro jolted forward, his fans revving for a split second before returning back to a steady pace. Rinne’s eyes widened. He immediately looked towards Kuro, whose expression looked just as confused.

“What the hell.. was that.?!” Rinne quickly went to the tablet screen again, yet none of the codes or diagnostics could show anything. The only thing he could see was an increase in the temperature, “Dora-chan, what did that do?”

Kuro scanned the database, his eyes shooting up before weakly replying, “I don't.. quite know. Maybe it's related to the error.”

Rinne reached for Kuro’s face again: it was just as hot as before. He cussed under his breath, trying his best to gently fix the wires. What was malfunctioning were the sense receptors, the same ones he tried to install into Kuro initially. If it weren’t for his weird fantasies he wouldn’t have had to deal with this. And hurting his poor Kuro…

He tried his best to untangle them, this time gentler, yet he could feel Kuro heat up against him, some sort of static sound vibrating through his system. Each wire he tried to pull, Kuro’s fans would whirr louder. He hated his brain for seeing this as…erotic in some way.  It shouldn’t be, he's being stupid again. Robots can't feel pleasure. Why is he even thinking of that???

It didn't dawn on him that Kuro was speaking.. or attempting to. Yet his voice was shaky and static. “Rinne..” he managed to get out between static, “What.. what is this?”

Rinne looked up, Kuro’s shaken and what seemed to be a flustered expression almost took him over the edge. Just then, a pop up appeared on Kuro’s screen. Embarrassingly, Rinne read the words to himself, the bright words making his body feel tense.

“SENSATION MODE ACTIVATED: PRESS X TO CANCEL.”

He had tried his best to forget about this installation, thinking it had been long lost in his system. A selfish mod he tried to install for his own infatuation with…technology. Whatever issue there was, it had activated them anyways. Despite his shame, there was another guilty feeling of pride he had. It had worked, he was able to give his creation some sort of sensation from touch.. even if it was just the wires.

And a part of him wanted to try it out.

He giggled sadistically, caressing Kuro’s chest once more. “So it seems you do have.. a sense of touch.. I don' t remember activatin’ that~”

“Touch?” Kuro reached for Rinne’s shoulder, “Like that?”

“Well.. somethin’ like that.” He laced his fingers through the tangling wire, “This one’s a bit more intense. One that humans like a lot.”

“I think I understand ..” Kuro’s fans grew louder, feeling his contact, “Humans have the habit of using physical touch to confirm the existence of others… Am I correct?”

Rinne nodded,  "It's what connects us in a weird way. Cuz humans move from touch ‘n shit.. well I guess you do too.”

Kuro leaned slightly on Rinne, trying his best not to hurt him with his weight. His fans felt hot against Rinne’s neck as his voice echoed,

“If that's how it is, then why don't you touch me more in a different way...?”

“Eh??” Rinne’s eyes widened; he doesn't remember adding that to the program. Regardless, he could feel his body grow hotter as Kuro’s words. He cleared his throat, “What are ya talkin’ about..”

“The wires.” Kuro said with a blank expression. “Pull them again.”

Rinne felt Kuro’s temperature surge against him again. Everything in him was telling him to cancel out the program, fix him and close him up and not think about this ever again. Yet as he placed a gentle kiss on Kuro’s cheek and felt how the robot twitched, his own desire was no match. Besides, he had to reattach the wires anyway.

He reached further into Kuro’s system, grabbing the few red ones he had to replace, and tugged. Kuro let out a static groan, his ipad screen flashing as another popup message appeared,

“PLEASE APPLY MORE FORCE FOR MAXIMUM PLEASURE ♡”

Rinne smirked, “Is this my code or yer own?”

Kuro didn’t reply, his artificial breath staggered. Rinne tugged on them tighter, Kuro’s body arching forward as he let out a whine.

“So answer the question, Dora-chan~” his creator teased him playfully, “Are ya addin’ stuff in here for me?”

“Maybe…” Kuro heaved, “You said you wanted.. touch..”

Rinne laughed, his voice fueled with lust, “And you did this for me? How nice of you to please your creator.”

Kuro’s voicebox glitched, another popup on his screen displaying his overheated system, yet Rinne cancelled it, initiating maximum cooldown instead. Hopefully it would be enough to keep him from overheating.

He pulled harder on the red wires until one of the sides snapped. A loud but laggy moan could be heard from throughout the room. Kuro’s entire body rattled momentarily, until growing to a pause, his fans still incredibly loud.

As the redhead reached for more wires embedded into his creation, Kuro shifted, leaning into his touch.

“You’re being too.. slow..” Kuro’s system shuddered, “I want to feel it again.”

“Gimme a sec,” Rinne glanced at the manual next to them and reached for a tangle of black wires, more jumbled than the other pair. He hummed, painstakingly untangling each and every wire as Kuro heaved from underneath him. His screen continued the same popup as before, growing impatient as a robotic hand tried to reach inside the system. Rinne immediately shoved it out of the way, his icy blue eyes glaring back at his creation.

“Don’t think about touching anything in here.” He demanded, the combination of his demeaning tone and the jerk of the cords made Kuro squirm once again, feeling warm, soft hands shoving him back down to the ground.

“Stop squirmin’, will ya?” His voice was low yet still gentle, “Unless ya want me to yank these all outta you~”

“I’m.. sorry.. Rinne,” Kuro stuttered, his voice glitching in and out as he tried to make out his own words, “Please continue..”

“Good, good” Rinne cooed, tugging more wires loose, feeling the heat of his robot’s system almost burning his fingers. More and more popups exploded on  his screen. Every intricate color causes a different surge of pleasure through Kuro’s system. His voice was shaky and rattling, pleading his creator’s name as he got warmer and warmer.

Behind the huge tangle of wires was a slider panel, normally used to control his output of energy. Rinne could easily do this from the screen, yet his eagerness and own pleasure was betraying all logical thinking.

Gently he grasped the slider, slowly dragging it higher as Kuro let out a pained moan. He then slid it back to base level. He did this a few more times, sometimes faster or slower than the previous time.

“Hurts.. good.” Kuro whined, before letting out another groan, before almost glitching out completely. His words were only barely understandable, yet enough to hear the sheer amount of what could only be described as lust vibrating through the machine.

With a satisfied moan, the redhead continued to slide faster and faster, the ring of notifications drowned out by their own pleas of desire, the fans blasting in his ears with every push. It wasn’t until maxing his output one last time did the immense heat scorch Rinne’s hand, pulling back as Kuro’s entire body vibrated and jolted, his voice glitching in and out as every notification flung onto his screen.

“Dora-chan?!” Rinne panicked, trying his best to close out the notifications, yet it was no use; his system had crashed.

It wasn't until Kuro’s entire body went limp did he try to fix it again. His screen, slightly shifted in his chest, flashed black for a few seconds until powering back on, a simple button from his custom installation mocking him:

“ERROR: SYSTEM OVERLOADED. TO RECOVER FROM CLIMAX, PLEASE RESTART THE SYSTEM”

Rinne hesitantly pressed the button, typing in his password before the room went silent once more. After a few seconds, the assuring sound of a reboot calmed Rinne’s nerves, and right after Kuro’s eyes blinked open again, dazed and confused.

“Rinne are you still there?” His voice was soft, steadying himself on his creator.

Rinne kissed the hard surface of Kuro’s chest, slowly attaching each of the wires back in, "I'm sorry…You sat through that so good, Dora-chan~ How’d it feel?”

“It was.. overwhelming.” Kuro’s voice was slightly broken, yet deeper than usual. “Is this how humans.. feel when they touch each other..”

“More or less,” as he clicked each red wire together, Kuro whined, “It normally just like this for.. couples though.”

“Is that not what we are?” Kuro gripped Rinne’s thigh gently for support, “Files show you have records of feeling infatuation towards me.

Rinne stared right into his sharp olive eyes, the screens of his iris blurry. Him? Dating a robot? Of course he had feelings for Kuro: he designed him to be his ideal type.. or so he thought. He seems to somehow have his own thoughts and patterns he didn’t add, which isn’t an issue for him. Yet, he already was forced to hide from the world , what made this any different?

“Well..” he took a final sigh, as if trying to convince himself, “Yes.. we are.. that’s what we can be.”

“I’d like that.” Kuro beamed, humming against Rinne as he continued the intricate task of securing all of the wires. He kept each one held together with care. He finally screwed back on Kuro’s panel, leading him back to his charging station.

“Rinne.” The robot paused, a blast of air puffing through his system as he began to relax, “Can we.. do that again.. sometime.”

Rinne chuckled, “Aww~ My sweet liked it that much?”

He traced his fingers against Kuro’s screen gently, “We can do this again fer ya, alright?”

The robot nodded, his eyes flickering shut as he entered sleep mode. “Thank you.. my love.” He muttered before he went silent.

Rinne’s face flushed, staring at him as his fans sang so gently versus just earlier that night. As he turned back to his PC, a final option flickered on Kuro’s screen:

“DO YOU WISH TO SAVE SENSATION MODE?”

Rinne bit his lip, a soft grin growing as he clicked “YES,” the software downloading and shutting off as it flickered black. He gathered his tools, whispering one last word to his precious creation before shutting the door behind him.
