Work Text:

Millennia ago, Syd was married to a beautiful lady named Mia Winters. Everywhere she turned heads because EVERYONE saw how great she was. One day, 10 suns scorched the earth and forced the crops to wither away, with no water or food, humanity was bound to perish. That was, until Syd arrived. Fueled by the desire to help the people(her wife Mia), Syd used her killer archery skills to shoot down 9 of the 10 suns. The 10th sun, Syd left because her beautiful wife MIA had invented photosynthesis and the world needed to flourish so that Syd and Mia could live the dream. As a reward for Syd's heroic deeds. Syd was rewarded two immortality pills, one for herself, and one for her beloved Mia Winters. Everything was fine and dandy, until it wasn't.
At a time when Syd was out, before either she or Mia could consume the pills of immortality, Syd's evil sorry excuse of a legal guardian broke into Syd and Mia's shared living space. He was crazy, and kept demanding that the immortality pills be given to him(the greed they speak of in mythology amiright?). In an act of desperation, Mia courageously swallowed both immortality pills, acknowledging that she was only supposed to take one, knowing there would be dire consequences.
As she swallowed the second pill, she could feel gravity betray her. Mia began to float, up. Away from the ground she went, into the atmosphere and farther, until she chose to end up on the moon, the closest she could remain to her beloved Syd, though they would never see each other again close up. When Syd came home she saw devastation in every corner of her shared home with Mia. It became clear to her what had happened. She did not know why, but two immortality pills had been taken by Mia. Syd trusted Mia's judgement that it was for a good reason. As their love transcended even the cosmos. However, Syd, overcome with heartbreak, gathered up all of Mia's favorite foods and other items together. A final offering. Then, Syd died. Perhaps suicide, perhaps heartbreak, vowing to find her beloved Mia again. Somehow, some way.
In the millennia that passed, in every life, every reincarnation, Syd remembered, stayed devoted, looked for a way to get to the moon that Mia was on, just to get a glimpse of her face again. Until finally, she found a way. A new friend came into Syd's life, The Doctor. With The Doctor, was the legendary TARDIS, capable of a whole lot of stuff.
With a guaranteed way to find Mia again, Syd pleaded with The Doctor, claiming it would be an easy trip because of the MiaLocator™ that Sydney invented and patented. Sydney was right, her devotion to Mia led her in the right direction, and the journey by TARDIS wasn't that bad.
Bidding The Doctor and the TARDIS goodbye, Sydney turned toward the moon, the moon that had been there for eternity, and the woman on it. Mia Winters.
As Syd walked, a figure slowly came into figure. Could it be? After what felt like forever... Was it true? Mia? Syd's eyes weren't deceiving her, it was Mia. At long last she had reunited with her wife, as beautiful as the day Syd lost her. The rush to each other and wrap themselves in a tight embrace, never wanting to let go. This feeling, this overwhelming happiness, it was better than marriage, better than getting rewarded for heroic deeds, some may even way better than pirating media. Syd knew, she was home.
