Work Text:
"-yung, wake up"
Is someone calling me?
"Hyungie. Hyung."
I must be dreaming. Surely no one would try to wake me up on our day off.
"Hyuuuung"
Right, I'll just ignore it and it'll go away.
"SUNOO-HYUNG, WAKE UP!"
Startled, Sunoo finally jolted awake with the yelling — well, whisper-yelling, and angrily turned towards the owner of the voice.
"Riki! It's still dark outside, what on EARTH do you want?!"
Sunoo loves Riki, he really does. Usually, waking up to his face would be lovely, but it's his first day off in months and it's not even 5 am.
"I'm sorry!" Riki grinned sheepishly with a small bow, and if Sunoo didn't know him, he would've felt bad. "I'm sorry for waking you, hyung, but i really need you to get up right now. C'mon, let's go!"
He started pulling Sunoo up from his bed. "Wait, Riki-ya! What is it??"
"Come oooon, we have to go right now."
Sunoo finally stood up and followed Riki outside the bedroom so as to not wake Jungwon and Sunghoon. Still, once in the hallway, he stopped again.
"Seriously, Riki, where are we going? It's too early to leave, not to mention how freaking tired I am right now." Sunoo whined with a pout, hoping to convince Riki to bother someone else. Instead, when Riki turned to face him, he saw something in his eyes that made him stop.
Something raw, something genuine.
"Please just trust me, hyung. I want to show you something."
It wasn’t exactly rare for Riki to get sentimental with him, but this just felt different. Even with how sleepy and tired he was, Sunoo could still recognize that whatever Riki woke him up for must've been important if it meant Riki himself was up so early. "Okay."
And with that, Sunoo allowed the younger to quietly drag him out the dorm and up the stairs to the roof. He followed, curious and careful, as he felt the nice summer morning weather. He watched Riki sit down on the floor, patting the spot next to him with a tiny smile.
"Sit down, hyung. We're right on time."
Sunoo happily sat with him, suddenly feeling giddy from his dongsaeng's enthusiasm. "Right on time for what?"
Just then, Sunoo saw as the sky turned from a gloomy blue to the most beautiful colors with the sunrise. As it came up, the sun painted a gorgeous scenery with orange and pink. It was the prettiest thing he had seen in a while.
He didn't know how long he had spent staring at the sight before he felt a tear slowly falling down his face.
Of course, Sunoo had seen multilple beautiful sunrises and sunsets before, but this one felt so much more special. Schedules had been absolutely hectic, they barely had time to eat or rest. Seems he hadn't even had time to realize how hard things had been.
"This is what I wanted to show you, hyung. I'm sorry I woke you up so early, I just really didn't want us to miss it." Riki was glowing. The warm light made his face look softer and, somehow, more beautiful. "I saw it a few months ago and I've been wanting to bring you since then. I really wanted to see it with you."
"Thank you, Riki-yah. It's beautiful." He slowly dropped his head on the younger's shoulder. "I really needed this."
Riki sat his head on top his hyung's as they quietly watched the sun rise, the bright colors slowly fading. Sunoo belatedly realized he hadn't brought his phone and had no pictures of the view. Surprisingly, he didn't care. He loved the time he was spending with the younger.
"We should probably go back now. Jungwon-hyung is gonna freak out if he doesn't see us in the dorm."
Sunoo giggled. "Yes, let's go now."
Riki took his hand as they stood up, peacefully making their way back inside.
