Chapter Text
“Hyung.”
A startled Jungwon turned to see Riki looking down at him. “Jesus, Riki, you scared me. Why are you up and dressed so early?” He said as he bent down to tie his shoes.
“I'm going to the store. Would you come with me?”
“Oh sorry, man. Manager called, he needs me to go to the office today.”
“Oh”
“Yeah, so much for a day off.” Riki watched as Jungwon got up and dusted himself off. “Why are you going to the store so early anyway?”
“I'm making breakfast for everyone. French toast. We're out of cinnamon.”
Jungwon looked at him, surprised. “That's nice of you, Riki. You sure you wanna go to the store alone, though?” He had a reason to be worried. It might've been early, but when you're an idol, it's never totally safe. “I can call someone if you want to.”
“It's fine, hyung. I'll just go quickly. Good luck on leader duty!”
Jungwon chuckled. “Alright, alright. I'll see you later. Be safe and don't burn our kitchen!” He yelled as he walked out the door.
Soon after, Riki left too. The store really wasn't far, only a couple blocks from their house. Still, he entered the little store and made a beeline for the cinnamon, quickly paying for it and getting back home. He sent Jungwon a text, as he knew the leader would pester him if he didn't.
Riki doesn't cook. Not because he can't, he just doesn't want to. And Jay is the group's certified chef, so he never has to worry about it! However, he had spent the previous day scrolling through Pinterest, pinning recipes he deemed doable for him.
He got to work and thankfully it all went smoothly; he could NOT handle getting scolded by Jungwon. Just as he was plating the last toast, Jay and Sunghoon walked out of their room, hair messy and eyes barely opened.
“Riki, what're you doing up?” Riki chuckled as his Jay-hyung slurred his words.
“I made french toast.” He deadpanned, holding in his laugh as Sunghoon seemed to have fallen asleep standing up. “I made some for everyone.”
At that, Sunghoon's eyes finally opened. “Woaaah, our maknae!” He said, not wasting any time to grab three plates from the shelf.
“Wow, thank you Riki.” Said Jay, as he ruffled the taller's hair, not budging when he heard him huff.
“Jungwon-hyung had to go to the office. Manager called him.” He heard them both groan.
They sat down and ate, all of them positively impressed by how good the toasts tasted. Riki thinks he might not be able to avoid being on cooking duty now.
Eventually, they all finished their food and Jay and Sunghoon both disappeared into their bedrooms, most likely to continue sleeping. Hours later, the group's sunshine finally came out of his room.
"Good morning, Riki~~"
There came Riki's favorite hyung, singing loudly as if there weren't four other people in their home trying to sleep. He loved him, alright?
"It's 3 p.m, hyung", he giggled. "And please be quiet, the others are sleeping."
"Ah~ of course our precious maknae cares for everyone but me." Riki's smile fell as his hyung was now putting the performace of his life to convince him he was sad. He knew better. "Ugh, fine. What you got there, love?" Sunoo ignored the younger's expression, having noticed the little treats he was holding.
"Oh yeah, I saw these 'chocolate yogurt clusters' or whatever on pinterest. We had some leftover strawberries so I decided to give them a try."
"Well, those look delicious. Don't mind if I do- HEY!" Sunoo looked at the other in shock as he had just slapped his hand away! (He lightly tapped it) "What was that for?! You know, Riki, I'm still older than you!"
"Sunoo-hyung, you haven't eaten anything yet! You can't have dessert yet. Here, I'll warm up the ramen I made for lunch for you."
"You cooked lunch? For everyone?" Sunoo asked surprised. Usually, the boy spent his days off gaming or sleeping, or as Jake swears he once saw, both at the same time.
("It was amazing! He was completely dozed off but his fingers were still moving!"
"Yah, Riki, no games for a month.")
"Yeah. I made breakfast as well, but Sunghoon-hyung ate it all before passing out."
Sunoo chuckled, that sure sounded like their Sunghoon!
Riki sat with Sunoo as he ate his ramen, recounting everything he had done that day.
"I tried getting Heeseung-hyung to learn some new choreos with me but he practically threw his pillow at me. I haven't seen him all day."
"Well, hyung truly loves his sleep!"
"Yeah, I know. Jake came out at around 1:00 when I was finishing up with lunch. He said 'the smell woke him up', can you believe him?" They giggled. "We ate together and I somehow convinced him to let me paint his nails, but he was falling asleep and getting them messed up so he went back to bed. I then made the clusters and oh! I made rings for you!" He pulled out a few wonky pieces of metal with each of their initials on it. "They're not that great but I found some spare material when I was cleaning the cabinets and I decided to give them a try."
"Wow Riki, it sure sounds like you had a busy day! Did you rest, like, at all?!?"
Riki only chuckled along with his Sunoo-hyung.
