Chapter Text
The aroma of a new apartment was soothing, especially with how well this day has been. Fluixon was in a particularly good mood since he managed to get Saparata as his roommate for this semester. Not like he's planning to change his roommate anytime soon, this was already perfect for him.
The only problem was that Saparata wasn't his. Therefore Fluixon plans to win Saparata's heart by the end of this semester.
Thankfully this semester will be a long one, so it would be easier to plan, but alas there's more problems.. Thomas. It was dreadfully obvious that Thomas had a thing for Fluixon.
Maybe to other people Thomas' little crush was simply an act of admiration. You gotta admit, Fluixon is pretty remarkable and plenty of people look up to him just as much. But Fluixon doesn't seem to be interested in anyone but Saparata.
He swore that one day Saparata would be his. Saparata is very unpredictable, Fluixon has always tried to read this guy but he always gets mixed signals from him. One day they argue, the next day they're flirting. But Saparata always calls him his "good friend.”
Which hurts, by the way.. Imagine your crush of 4 years keeps referring to you as 'a good friend', but that doesn't crush Fluixon spirit. He already had it figured out and he decided to do anything he could to win him over. He'd use people, precisely calculate his next move and even try to become the student council president.
Perhaps life had other plans, besides he still had to deal with Thomas.. oh Thomas..
"Flux?" The familiar looking brunette calls out to him. Speaking of the devil, right? "Are you okay?" The brunette's words snap Fluixon back to reality as he looks around his surroundings. He realises he was in the shared apartment of him and Saparata, who was looking around with that beautifully gorgeous smile that sometimes made Fluixon smile back.
"Sorry, I spaced out." Fluixon said as he took the luggage out of Thomas’ hand. Thomas looked at him with concern, but he backed up and didn't say anything. The brunette waved him goodbye, walking back to his room. Fluixon just lets out an annoyed sigh after the brunette leaves.
'Pathetic..' the ravennett thought to himself as he walked towards Saparata. "I'm going to claim this room!" The white haired enthusiast pointed to the door on the left side of the hallway. Fluixon just scoffed as he mocks him, "The right side of the room is bigger anyways.” The white haired boy obviously didn't believe him as he crossed his arms and scoffed which amused at the ravennet.
As they already settled in their rooms, Fluixon took one good look at his schedule then threw it in the trash. He was already a prodigy, he got straight A's without even trying hard. Besides, his goal wasn't about graduating university. He grabs a notebook and a pencil from his desk then lays down on his bed, writing various different strategies to impress Saparata. Was it hopeless? Yes, obviously. But did he care? Nope, not one bit!
Unfortunately none of the plans he wrote would work... was he even thinking logically?? 'Fuck this, pathetic' Fluixon thought to himself as he turn his body towards the wall in shambles.
Suddenly there was a knock on the door, causing Fluixon to panic! He quickly threw the crumbled paper under the bed as well as the notebook and pencil.
"Come in." The ravennett said, trying to appear nonchalant and act like his heartbeat wasnt beating so fucking fast.
"Hey Flux!" The white haired boy walks in with his 'i need something from you' voice. Fluixon sighed as crossed his arms. "What do you want this time?" The ravennett asked impatiently.
"Okay so I was wondering.. Would you be interested in joining the theatre workshop?" Saparata said unconfidently as he made the biggest and dumbest puppy dog eyes ever. Which, unfortunately, kinda worked on the pathetic yearner. "You know I'm not into those things-"
"But it's different! It's not like highschool I promise!" The white haired grabs the ravennett hands, causing the ravennett's cheeks to heat up a little. "Saps. You know I don't like drawing attention to myself that much-"
That response almost made Saparata laugh.
"Flux, we all know you always disagree with people publicly. And besides I heard you once acted in a play in primary school!"
Ah yes primary school.. the hell starter, who could ever forget? Fluixon definitely can't as the play he acted in was his biggest regret. The only other biggest regret this guy had was letting his sister tell Saparata about it.
"Why are you bringing this up exactly?" The ravennett pushes his hand away as Saparata sat down next to him. "Okay so I'm like joining the workshop and I thought it would be fun if we could join together." The white haired boy said with his gorgeous smile that seemed to make the whole world stop.
I mean, it made sense that Saparata out of all people would join the theater club, not only was the guy charismatic but he's known as the campus beauty or the campus angel. It's one of the reasons why Fluixon loves him.
Saparata is also very talented at acting, it's like he was born to act compared to Fluixon His acting wasn't anything special like Saparata, but the white haired boy still somehow saw potential in him.
Perhaps maybe.. Fluixon was starting to get some ideas. What if he joins theater just to hang out with the man of his dreams? And then maybe Saparata will like him back? Fluixon smiles gently, "I'll think about it". That reply makes Saparata feeling joyous and giddy as he jumps out of Fluixon's bed and screams "Yippee!". The ravennett just sighed as he shook his head slowly, 'he's so stupid'.
As the joyest boy left, the ravennett took out his phone and contacted the only person who knows about his plans on 'winning Saparata'. Snowbird, Saparata's cousin and a member of Fluixon friend group called the conspiracy.
[TheArchitect]
"Snowbird are you in theatre workshop?"
[ImSnowbirb]
"I am, why?"
[TheArchitect]
"What's positioning they're looking for right now?"
[ImSnowbirb]
"Mainly backstage prop worker"
That's perfect for Fluixon since it doesn't require him to be out in the spotlight acting and drawing attention to himself. It was the perfect job for him! Plus, points for him being an architecture major.
And so he joins theater to impress the boy of his dreams and to hangout with him of course.
On the day of the workshop, Fluixon already figured out how he's going to talk to Saparata. He's gonna argue with him about something so pointless it's laughable, but there was something else stopping him. Saparata wasn't paying any attention to him, instead he was teasing this other guy who had short brown hair and was wearing a blindfold to cover their eyes? 'What a freak.' Fluixon thinks to himself as he went up to Snowbird "Who's that guy?" The ravennett sounded so serious that it scared Snowbird. Fluixon had always had this fake charming personality that everyone was tricked by, but whenever he was near to Snowbird or Rotation only they got to see the 'other side of his fake persona'.
"I believe that guy is named Kanukei?" Said Snowbird as he awkwardly avoided the glare from the ravennett.
"Kanukei. How long has he known Saps and what's their relationship?" The ravennett shakes the dirty blonde aggressively.
"Dude, calm down. He's not a threat I swear" Fluixon stops and looks at Snowbird in confusion.
It is true that Kanukei has known Saparata for a while but their relationship was more like rivals in acting. Saparata wasn't as innocent as he looked, the white haired boy was one of the reasons why Kanukei lost his main role in a play once in high school. They would always compete for the main roles and unfortunately for Kanukei he would always lose.. not because Saparata is better, but because Saparata had used dirty tricks to get himself that main role. Kanukei knows this but doesn't dare to say anything, he always believed in fair and righteousness. 'One of these days I will take you down, Saparata' Kanukei thought as he glared at the white haired boy who was now talking with other people.
Snowbird reassured Flux by telling him about Saparata and Kanukei's story with each other, which relieved Fluixon a bit knowing that they're were mainly enemies. I guess he has nothing to worry about.
Beep
A text? Fluixon checks his phone and of course it's from none other than Thomas..
[TANKENGINE]
"Hey Flux! How's the theatre workshop? I find it funny how despite your hatred for acting you still decided to join theater."
[TheArchitect]
"I only joined cause Snowbird needed some help, that's all. I'm also working backstage, not on the stage."
[TANKENGINE]
"Oh that's understandable. I mean if you happen to get any role I would love to see you on stage! Even if you're just a tree”
[TheArchitect]
"Yeah.. haha.. that will never happen."
[TANKENGINE]
"Haha.. anyways do you want to hangout later?"
[TheArchitect]
"Sorry I promise pili I'll hang out with him. Something about dripstone watching idk.. :P"
[TANKENGINE]
"Oh. That's fine! Have fun! :)"
Bleh, sometimes Fluixon thinks Thomas is trying too hard. He should probably contact Dtowncat later for excuses to not hang out with Thomas.
Yes, he lied to him but he knows Thomas isn't the type to get upset easily. Especially with the crush he knew Thomas had on him, which he abused regularly. 'Carry my bag' or 'fetch me a drink', sometimes he sees Thomas as nothing but a dog to him. It's convenient at least to use him so he doesn't have to do anything. Was it mean? Yes. but does Fluixon give a fuck about people who's not Saparata? HELL NO.
He probably plans to ditch everyone and marry Saparata after they graduate. Find a house, live together and own a couple of cats. It's a very simple life but he knows that's all he needs. Sometimes even geniuses need a simpler life.
Furthermore, Fluixon can go on to phase two of his plans.
Manipulation.
