Chapter Text
Peter had no idea how he had gotten himself into this situation. Genuinely. He had not one iota of a clue. He supposed it must have had something to do with his terrible Parker Luck.
It was 6am on a Saturday morning, and instead of being wrapped up in a fluffy blanket, in his comfy bed, dreaming up new crazy ideas to test in the lab with Tony (as he should be on his one weekend off a term) he found himself sitting on a freezing school bus, on a hard bus seat, using every ounce of patience he didn't know he possessed to keep himself from strangling the boy throwing paper balls at his head every other minute.
If Flash didn't cut it out soon, Peter swore he was going to loose his shit.
When Tony had suggested his aca-dec team took a trip to the tower, he had been very, very against the idea. But low and behold, 2 weeks later, as he battled with himself to stay awake till the end of practice, Mr Harrington had excitedly announced the destination of their senior year trip. He vaguely remembered Flash calling out something along the lines of, 'Ready to be exposed, Penis Parker!' but it had been utterly drowned out by the delighted squeals from the rest of his class as well as the sound of his head banging against the table as he dropped it in despair.
It's safe to say Tony had recieved a very long lecture from both himself and Pepper that evening, where he had promised to stay away from their trip. However, as Peter stood outside the building he ran as Co-CEO with Pepper, the building he lived in, the building that would one day be his (which was still a crazy thought but nonetheless a true one according to the papers Tony and Pepper had him sign only a few short months ago), Peter knew there was no chance he was getting out of this without at least one of his many secrets being revealed.
Taking a deep breath and lugging his overnight bag onto his shoulder, he followed his team into the incredible building that had somehow become his home.
Looking to the left at his amazing girlfriend, MJ, he snaked his hand out to grasp hers and sent her a soft smile, before turning to face his best friend Ned, comforted by his excited rambles. No matter how much time Ned had spent at the tower, he never got over the absolute wonder he felt seeing it for the first time, and in all honesty, Peter could relate.
Of course his small bubble of sanctuary had to be ruined as he felt an elbow jab sharply into his back. It didn't hurt, but it wasn't nice either.
Flash Thompson.
Peter had endured even more jabs and comments in the last few weeks leading up to the trip. From 'your going down Parker' to 'I'm going to expose all your lies Penis' to being thrown into lockers, his bag being poured out, and being beaten up behind the school, Peter had seen it all the last few weeks, enough to last a lifetime.
He'd given it a lot of thought but had come to the conclusion that enough was enough.
They were in his building.
These were his employees.
He couldn't be seen getting beaten by a high school bully.
He'd be out of here in a few weeks anyway.
Graduation was just around the corner, then he'd be off to MIT with Ned and MJ, and after he graduated he'd return to Stark Industries as CEO and owner of the building, while his best friend took over as head of R&D and his girlfriend became head of PR, giving Tony and Pepper the opportunity to finally settle down.
It was all worked out.
He'd been working hard the last year, balancing school, spider-man, his internship with Tony, his responsibilities as Co-CEO with Pepper and early MIT classes with Ned and MJ so they were all on track for early graduation.
It was with that knowledge that he'd decided he was done hiding. He was done being a pushover. He was just done.
He was Peter Parker-Stark for God's sake and he was gonna start acting like it!
Flash Thompson be damned.
